it has a distinct feel about it, if you need a hotel for the night in the area? why not here instead of a generic hotel?
I liked everything

The staff was great. Everyone was helpful and kind. The staff was the one redeeming factor of my stay.
Twenty years ago I was at this property and you could see the lake. On the drive to the lodge past the golf course you could see the lake. Everywhere on the drive in, you could see the beauty of the lake. I was greatly disappointed when I got to the lodge and all I see from my room, pool, bar, and restaurant was trees. Nothing else. Just Trees. In the south, trees are a renewal resource. Remove the trees. There are lots of options for ground cover for soil erosion if that is the issue.
The next issue. Cold water showers. My last day I gave up and did not take a shower. Tankless water heaters are wonderful. You never run out of hot water and they are energy efficient.
The next issue. Dinning. Breakfast was fine. Although it's hard to screwup breakfast. I under stand the food cost dilemma you were in with low number of guests. Hand held sandwiches in a basket of French fries is fine for lunch. If you are going to close the fine dinning option for guest down, then provide a better selection menu options in the Bullfrog restaurant. I was there for three nights at the bar. Other guest had the same problem.

Restaurants were a little too pricey.

the views
We had no AC in our room. We had to young 2 children with us and an elderly couple that just burned up. This was in November… when we called to get it fixed no one would help us. it was too expensive for all the problems we had. I honestly do not recommend having a wedding here until the staff can get it together. it was a mess our entire trip. we was supposed to receive a phone call from the manager who never called me or my husband to fix all the problems we had. Mr.Collin had the chance to call and fix things before I left a review well it’s now January….

We stayed at the lodge. The location on the lake and fireplace in the room.
the structure was wood so it was noisy being on the ground floor and kids running over head day and night

we were only there 3 days. we loved the location and the view from our balcony. we also loved the winter activities down by the land shark cafe.
it was kind of dead and nothing to do after New Year’s Day. only one restaurant open for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Seem like it’s been a lot of changes from a year ago. Not for the good. The pool area needs have a kiddie pool section / area and hot tub area.
The rooms are outdated, more helpful information on events and activities, more golf cart during peek time, and conference was outdated.

The view was amazing....Sunrise right over the water outside my balcony. I watched the deer graze in the court yard outside my room while the sun was coming up and it was so peaceful.
The bathtub was missing the stopper
