Große Hotelanlage durch die Hauptstraße getrennt. Sehr dunkle Zimmer. Die Koffer mussten zum Zimmer getragen werden, Rollen war auf dem unebenen Boden nicht möglich. Sehr rustikal. Der aufgerufene Preis für eine Übernachtung ist nicht zu rechtfertigen.

The scenery was breathtaking.
Property was in need of remodeling and the rooms were not clean. Tried to check in and front desk pulled out a print out and ask me to find my name on it. Was not on print out and ask front desk girl to ck her system and she said it was same as print out. Ask her to ck system and she finally located reservation. She was not welcoming.

Beautiful grounds and really authentic feel. The staff were just the best and really helpful. The area is beautiful and perfect for dark skies and a hop to the national park. There's lots of food options and the deli was well stocked, the restaurant's staff were just lovely and they had a great selection of wine.
There's enough on the site to keep you entertained during rainy days and the morning coffee is brilliant.
The monopoly on food, fuel and excursions mean everything is really expensive (but a must do whilst you're there) $100 for 2 hours of paddle boarding each, fuel is $5.36 a gallon and dinner will set you back roughly $30 each for a main course.

beautiful location and setting, lots of nice landscaped outdoor spaces
several things were not working: the Pizza oven at the Pizza place, there was no heated pool near our accommodation ( only pool was in the RV park) and there was no hot tub (maybe one in the paid spa). reservations were required for dining in a nearly empty dining room, one table at the outdoor dining bar was old, dirty, and cracked. Lights in bathroom in room not working (they fixed it quickly) some paint peeling in room - the place needs some TLC considering the prices charged.

The location is remote, but not for visiting Big Bend National Park! Had all the amenities you needed after hot hikes in the park. The entire staff from Front Desk to the Hotel Manager, Gloria were super friendly and accommodating.

Great location for the National Park and the resort area is very nice. We stayed in the Badlands hotel, great ambiance and a nice (shared) balcony for the second story rooms - great place for AM coffee. BEWARE - there is no elevator, plan accordingly. I ended up hauling a 35lb bag up and down the stairs twice during our stay.
Two nights in two different rooms (that's the way I had to book to get the best price) and neither room had a hot shower. In the first room the handle fell apart (likely due to previous guests trying to get hot water) and water was clod in the shower - no matter evening or morning or how long you let it run. Second room SLIGHTLY better (handle didn't fall off), but only luke warm water still. Both reported to front desk. For the prices paid, I don't think a working shower with hot water is too much to ask. When we tried to adjust the reservation to avoid moving rooms or even paying for an upgrade I was told since we booked with Booking.com no changes could be made. Same for the hot water, "sorry, can't make any adjustments since you booked with Booking.com - suggest you contact them".

Food was pretty good. Big Ben is amazing.
The room needs an update. I felt the room was dirty. Balcony furniture was old. Ripped cushions and very dirty. The sliding door was hard to open and close. There a
Was old food in refrigerator. Hot water was not working.

Beautiful facility, historical buildings, furnished with southwestern them, clean & a friendly staff. Pools, fountains were sparkling clean, landscaping & all outdoor areas were well maintained. Boardwalk area offered several choices for meals.
It was a somewhat long drive to Big Bend NP, but we’ll worth it, as it’s definitely the best place around!

Pretty comfortable and very quiet after dark. The café in the courtyard had a great pizza and very good quick breakfasts.
We asked for no stairs and got stairs. The walkways are NOT even whatsoever. If you have any sort of mobility problems this is not the place for you. The flagstone walks are in need of major repairs. The restaurant was reservation only with only three table in use. Food was decent but not exceptional.

Location was great, food was good at the restaurant. Decent access to Big Bend National Park.
The room was over priced compared to other resorts I've been to. There was leaf debris floating in the pool. Our sink vanity was not in the bathroom, it was in the room which was strange.

The hotel is simply lovely. It is beautifully landscaped and the contrast with the stunning desert IV landscape is absolutely gorgeous. The buildings are lovely, the beds are comfortable, the pool a wonderful asset in the hot weather. The food in the restaurant was very good, so was the prickly pear margarita. The bakery/pizzeria/coffee shop is a very nice feature of the resort. We didn’t golf but it sure looked fantastic.
The furniture in the room was in a bit of disrepair.

The bed was very comfortable which is hard to find. The room was nice with plenty of space. There were several food options onsite which was nice. The pizza was delicious. The resort itself was very charming and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Although we did not participate, they had a vast selection of activities on the property. They really had everything you needed onsite. Beautiful views of the desert and mountains. It was a relaxing oasis in the desert after a long day out at Big Bend.
Although warned there was no elevator, the stairs going up to the 2nd floor of the main lobby were very steep. They did offer help with the luggage so we should have taken them up on it. When we went to check out the pool the water looked cloudy and in need of cleaning. A little disappointed because it was a nice pool area and would have felt nice on a hot day. They were also understaffed in the main restaurant. Although the food was good, service was slow. My husband had an issue with his meal, but nobody came back to check on us, so he just ate it. The waiter did apologize and removed the meal from the ticket. Overall I think they just need to do a little updating here and there.

nothing
First than everything disappointed about the surroundings. We live in a dessert in NM but this dessert is grey and ugly
The hotel is super old. I don’t understand how they can say it’s a 4 star hotel other than the prices per night (350 usd ) very expensive for the quality of rooms
We got a room on the second floor and there is no elevator… we have to share the balcony with guests of other 2 rooms . In your room, you can listen to absolutely everything in the halls, rooms next to you , from outside
Everything very old. The AC vent located exactly in front of the head of the bed , is no comfortable to have the AC air direct to you
They have 1 pool with all the bees dead on the water (the walls and all area need maintenance)
They have 2 or 3 restaurants but we had problems because short staff or supposedly totally booked . The steaks at Goat room were more than 50 usd per each !.
Coffee shop closes on Mondays so if you want something you need to drive to Terlingua 20 minutes at least
Very bad logistics for everything. Don’t waste your money

I have stayed at the property for the last four years. For the last two years, the resort’s power has gone out cutting my stay short.
The is a need for more help in the restaurant. The wait for service and the food was long.

Beautiful location with excellent amenities and a professional staff. The resort was a great place to spend our anniversary. Texas Big Bend State park is definitely worth taking the time to visit. Stunning scenery.
Golf carts are no longer available to rent for non golfers. They haven’t updated this in their brochures.

Breakfast was delicious but the waiter could find a better position of employment. The other server, a waitress, observed me not getting any service and she stepped up to helped me out. The young man that waited on me might have just had a bad night and didn't feel like working this day.
I rarely write negative reviews but my waiter at breakfast was very slow and inattentive. You can't get away with service like that at a cheap fast-food restaurant. I just wish the waitress would have been working my table instead of the young guy I got stuck with.

It's refreshing to have a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere.
Service was minimal. They are in need of staff in the restaurant and bar.
