Location and the atmosphere, the owner and employees were all super. Very clean great bathroom and facilities. Roomy, loved the southwest theme. Beautiful large towels etc.
Yes, the lighting fixtures were beautiful, but it was a little dark for me.all in all, a great place.
The only (minor) inconvenience was that there was no soap or shampoo. We will know to bring our own, and it is fine! but some clients may be taken by surprise.

Lovely uniquely furnished room
No coffee making facilities

The breakfast was good and so was the location.
The skylight in our room was not welcome at 5:30 am. Should have a way to cover it in the summertime. There was also rusted barbwire on the walls as part of a mural-very dangerous and I scraped my arm on it. The oversized rustic pine bed frame made getting in and out of the bed a real challenge.

Very nice place, Tom manages to make people feel welcome. Even though there is no breakfast included, he offers coffee and some pastry in the morning in his kitchen, where we had nice chats with the other guests. Our room was really large, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Also, they have nice cats (no worries, they are not allowed in the rooms, so no problem for people with allergies).
The house rules seem quite harsh.

Tom, the inn owner/host, was super friendly and helpful. He gave us some amazing food / hiking recommendations and helped us feel right at home. We were only in Escalante for one night but I would definitely come back / recommend this inn to anyone visiting the area

We have had a wonderful stay at the Inn of Escalante. The rooms are nicely decorated with pleasant colors, clean and comfortable. The place is easy to find, it is right in the middle of this quiet village, near Escalante-Outfitters - hiking gear shop/pizzeria/cafe - our favorite place to hang out after hiking and sightseeing. The air in Escalante is so fresh and the landscapes in the Escalante area are so beautiful. Moreover, Tom, the host, helped us enormously when we had a problem with our car, he fixed it up temporarily so we can get to the nearby workshop and so he saved our day, this was amazing, thank you Tom!

The room was quite nice. Breakfast was quite good except we only got one cup of coffee.
The owner is an overbearing control freak. God help you if you smell of tobacco - he bragged about kicking people to for that.

Nice Inn.
As coolers are not allowed it would be helpful to have someway to cool your food that you are carrying with you.

Tom is a great host, the check in/out process was extremely easy. In the morning there was coffee, we were given home made blueberry muffins and stories about the cats currently keeping the property safe from mice : ) He also checked in with us the evening prior and gave recommendations about when to go where, given how busy it's been in the parks.
