Had a nice warm heated pool. With the price point you can’t beat it. Owner was careful for being clean of the place and had a well organized cleaning schedule and double checked we had towels.

The location is only two blocks from the main downtown area of Wailuku, with good access to several restaurants and several bus routes that I used regularly. The room was everything I could ask for. There are several different rooms with different sizes, and I stayed in the Old Mill Room. The room has air conditioning, which I only used in the evenings to cool the room after it heated up in the afternoon. While in a busy part of town, the street itself is fairly quiet most of the time, and a very pleasant location that is also close to many necessary things.
The bathroom in this room is quite small, and some guests would find it difficult to make their needed morning preparations in such a small bathroom. It suited my needs just fine, however. Guests wishing for a larger bathroom should reserve a more expensive room.

The location was amazing to get around the island. The outside area was nice to sit at.
Certain rooms can get very small an feel cramped so pay attention to what you’re booking. Not every room has a kitchen, just a microwave and an freezer.

Great place to relax and enjoy the island. Good location. Large and fully equipped relaxation area by the pool with a grill. The owners are friendly and kind people. Enough space for parking.

We loved how private it felt! It was in a good, quiet and safe area. Check in and check out was very easy with the instructions given. We stayed in the Mills room the bed was firm (our preference) and comfy. Each bedroom has a window A/C unit that worked great! It got very cold at night. The pool was great and they had washer and dryer on site for a fee of $5 per load. They have beach towels and chairs for your use. The rooms have small coolers you can use if you want to take them to the beach. It’s near a Safeway and places to eat. What more could you ask for!
The bathroom was small but had no issues with it. The TV seems to have channels from antenna or something. I’d take a Fire Stick/Roku if you like to watch movies in bed.

It was a blast for the money you pay! The location is perfect, we could easily choose where to drive the next day and went different directions every day. You can borrow the chairs and snorkeling from the common area. I loved that you can refill your water bottle with filtered water near the pool. Our room (and I assume all the other ones) had a cooler and beach towels that we could take with us. The host is very polite and she can recommend where to get very tasty macaroons.
I can think of only one small thing, the owners could upgrade the towels - change them with 100% cotton towels.
I also noticed in the reviews about the noise from the chickens, but I was so tired in a good way from swimming and lying on the beach, so that I didn't hear them during the night.

Welcome Snack
If you like to be ignored by the host upon checkin, cockroaches in your shower, a cat fight in front of your window the whole night, an AC with the noise level of a truck, and a room insulation that makes you hear every snoring of the neighboring rooms, then this place is for you!
P.S.: have no allergies to dust.

It’s the cleanest place I have ever rented from.
Maureen was the best host. Super friendly and always gave great recommendations to places for us to see or try. Moving forward I will only be staying there every time I fly into Maui. This place was perfect and free parking was a super bonus too.

I loved the location and it didnt feel like a resort. It felt like home. I loved teh color, the art, the quilt, i did not want to leave! I wanted to start paying rent and live there immidiately! I am already reccomending friends this place and next time I go visit I will definitely be staying there.

The privacy was perfect because I was there in a bereavement. It was beautiful peaceful and quiet.
The only thing I didn't like was the reason I was there for. I would definitely stay there again.

My fiance and I had a great time at Wailuku Guesthouse. Maureen is an amazing and responsive host. I definitely recommend staying there!

Maureen is terrific & responds timely to answer any questions.
We were located at the cozy Plantations Room. Our room is cozy & welcoming.
There’s a staircase leading up to the rooms upstairs.
Walking distance to the local businesses at Market St, less than 2m from Maui Swap Meet ( Saturdays 7-1pm at back parking lot of Maui College). Costco ( variety of food trucks across the gas station), grocery stores, banks, mall are all easily accessible.
Maureen had to clean/change the aerator on our sink for better water pressure, but otherwise everything was great!
We were comfortable enough that we didn’t have to used the a/c, just the fan.
The room is clean and comfortable. Housekeeper are available if needed new towels/soap, etc. Tip is greatly appreciated.
The pool looks great! We didn’t have time to BBQ, but outdoor grill is accessible if needed.
We rented the car from her too ( VW Tiguan) & Maureen pre loaded with small ice chest & beach chairs.
We even came home with a few slices of her moist & delicious homemade bread which was perfect with coffee for our early drive to Hana the next morning!
Highly recommend & will definitely stay here again!
The guesthouse is across Iao school so on schooldays, expect some commotion ( students walking/activities, bells, etc).
Their birds ( Ruby & Hana) are by far more quite than the roosters every morning ☺️. Nonetheless, overall a great location!!

The pool
The roosters crowing at 2:00 am. Every day!! It is right across from a school so it was noisy anyway. No soundproofing at all. We could hear everything from guests across the hall.

Lovely pool. Quiet. Great tennis courts right next door. Close to Wailuku, a quaint downtown with nice restaurants and coffee shops.
Long way to a beach. Room was small.

The owner was fantastic and so helpful.
Loved the pool area!
Only downside to this part of town is the wild roosters that started crowing at 3am.
No fault of the hotel but definitely bring earplugs!

My wife and I stayed at Maureen‘s in December 2022. Maureen is a great and a very hospitable host. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was an AC, a coffeemaker, a fridge and necessary bathroom supplies. Good value for it’s money! We also loved the location- quite, safe and easy to get to main attractions by car.
Thank you very much, Maureen for having us!
The Cookies were delicious 😉😋

Room was little bit dirty (shower and mirror), you could hear noise from other rooms and corridors because its right next to your door.

Location is central - a 6 min drive to Safeway, a walk to breakfast, banking, dining - 15- 20 min from OGG Airport. The pool was great, the grounds were lovely. The air conditioning worked. I enjoyed the kitchen with microwave and toaster oven and coffee maker and electric kettle. The wifi worked well. The cleaning staff come every 2nd day to change towels and do a nice job cleaning.
It would be nice to have burners e.g. to boil an egg. The sofa and chair in the living room is fabric and hard to clean. It's also old and lumpy - new one needs to be purchased that can be wiped down.
