Gorgeous grounds, full of potential. The room itself was old, dingy, outdated.
The room itself was old, dingy, outdated. There was old brown panel type furniture, the carpet was gross and discolored. Curtains mismatched floral pattern. If I owned this place I’d rehab all of the rooms and gut them. This hotel is such a treasure but it’s clear the owners don’t care. It was a sad experience to be honest.

I really enjoyed the downtown location, and that the property had more than just the one main building.
Maybe a microwave in each room and fridge? We had to throw our leftovers from the restaurant away ☹️

Laid back historic set up and nature
They mentioned they have breakfast but they didn't have free breakfast . They did provide 10% discount at nearby cafe.

Good location
Felt that we were in an annex not the main building.

Very clean and nice atmosphere.
No refrigerator in the room and the hotel did not offer to cool our food and beverages. Also the acclaimed restaurant was closed on the day we stayed. Breakfast was not offered.

the atmosphere was perfect. the feeling of the hotel was nostalgic but comfortable. it’s is not a modern “fancy” hotel but truly a wonderful historical experience.

Nice old building. Great location.
They need new carpet badly. The window unit was not quite enough to cool the room with high ceilings. Probably need to go for central A/C.

Love the old building! Great location
The shower was a lot to be desired, not hot enough and the shower head was awful!

Very cute and historic
A bit dated.

It was cute, rustic, clean. Evening desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, great towels.
We were put in the annex, not the main hotel. And nothing on the website we used indicated there was an annex and that our room was there. The morning clerk was helpful. The main hotel was a gorgeous building with several lovely sitting areas. It was disappointing to see this and be put in the annex. But to be fair we reserved the day before our arrival. Also no fridge in the room. No complimentary breakfast.

We loved the room and the style, we had an exterior room so we had 3 windows, which was lovely at golden hour. The room was very clean, which we appreciated, and the AC was very nice, especially in the Texas heat. The staff was also very nice!
There's no microwave or fridge of any kind, and while we understand that the room we booked is without a kitchenette, it still made it difficult to cook meals in the room and store food. We had a cooler and the hotel had an ice machine so everything worked out, but we did miss the appliances we're used to lol.

This was a perfect spot for my trip to the McDonald Observatory. Fort Davis is a small town with a number of excellent places to eat (best burrito I ever had at Lupita's!) and a number of small gift shops. The hosts at the hotel were warm and responsive.
This is a classically beautiful building, but the walls are thin. I could hear the family across the hall all night.

Pool was awesome! Restaurant/bar and staff were excellent—when it was open. Great base to explore the area.
Our room in Casa Limpia was across a highway (granted, traffic was minimal, but still not in the main property), upstairs ( no big deal), with barely adequate AC (but desk staff found a fan for us), and had the ambiance of a typical 1-star chain motel. NO coffee except decaf available for the room, but there was a Keurig across the highway in the historic main building everyone probably assumes they are booking. The town has very limited options for eating, but a great grocery for supplies—if you don’t need a microwave to heat anything.

It had a kitchen and a coffee pot.
Carpet could have been clean. It was very dirty.
Master bedroom sheet had a stain on it that looked fresh. Blood or makeup, I couldn’t tell.
Toilet set was very worn.
No hair dryer in master bathroom.
Iron was very dirty.

the unique charm!
they were out of water bottles and there was no access to drinking water without asking hotel staff.

The hotel was centrally located (we had a room in the annex building) in the middle of town and everything was reachable on foot. Parking on the street was no problem at all and the room was well decorated, clean and had a nice view towards the mountains. It was also pretty big with lots of windows. I would definitely stay there again and can only recommend it.

Location, history, We like old buildings
Coffee in lobby, see comments re. coffee shop.
Pool area was locked, would have been nice to enjoy a drink by the pool;l
Ice machine was out of order,
Tv in bedroom didn't work;
Hours for restaurant & coffee shop seemed odd and was frequently closed as was much of the town.
We may come back when drugstore & Harvard are open so we have some choice

historic, large room with 2 queens on second floor, comfy beds, great balcony, good restaurant, wonderful helpful friendly staff, easy travel to McDonald Observatory.

Staff was very nice, room was clean.
No decaf coffee in hotel or attached restaurant. We were not in main hotel, we were across the street ,rustic but clean.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. Being in our 80s, the across the street location and the stairs were difficult.
Check in was confusing. Stairs.

The breakfast was OK. It was located just a few doors down the street and it was very clean and the staff were polite.
The pillows were huge and hard.

Comfortable & clean
The restaurant was closed. We had to travel back to eat. Why didn’t the hotel let us know before we arrived?
We were out in rooms a cross the street, not the historic atmosfeer we were coming for.

Perfect location to see the McDonald Observatory. The property is historic, built in 1912 and very quiet.
Needs serious updating, very cramped hotel room, limited services, some of the rooms are across the street and up two sets of old stairs, we had no problem carrying our stuff but it would have been nice to know. Spotty service at the restaurant and at the front desk. Choices are limited for hotels in Fort Davis, so you take your chances.

The two rooms we stayed in were really clean, comfortable. The reataurant and coffee shop next to this hotel
were superb. The historic background was handeled very well - the lobby was a wonderfully historic well preserved place too.
