The access to the beach and pool was prime
The property did not let us know that the workers have been on strike for the past month. There was nobody to come and clean our room or switch out our bedding. The bathroom was filthy with hair from the previous stay all floors show signs that they had also not been vacuum or cleaned. We also had to go to the 12th floor pick up our own clean towels and supplies for the room like toilet paper. I was traveling with my 1 year old baby and spent most of my time in the room cleaning to make sure she would not get sick.
Both of the poolside and beachside bars/food options were also unavailable which meant there was no convenient food or drink other than a distant food truck on the edge of the lagoon and the ABC store which was quite a distance away
From when we booked to when we arrived to check into our reservation we were not told about the strike and how we would have to be cleaning and maintaining our own room while on vacation. To add to this disappointment the protesters were screaming on mega phones and blocked entrances throughout the property which had a huge effect on the peace, and my family’s ability to sleep at a decent time.
When we finally had enough I brought my concerns up to management and was told I would have my room cleaned (floors cleaned and bedding changed) and we would be refunded our service fees, but neither of these things happened. I called The Hilton corporate office and they said due to the strike they cannot help and referred me back to the manager who did not follow through on her promises. I will never stay at a Hilton again due to the service I received after spending several thousand dollars. There was no remorse and little effort Given to make our stay better after we paid.
I’m sure none of the other reviews will go into this much detail about what happened during their stay if they have been compensated at all, but I am disgusted by the way we were treated as paying customers.

Access to the beach. We were a family of 15, spread over 4 suites. Ideal to have 2 bedroom suites for the larger families.
Our taxi driver dropped us at the lower level. There was no one to tell us where to go. We went to a central check in and were told we needed to be on the next level up, to check in. We had 7 young children and travelled for 20 hours. Wasn't a good start.

There is nothing I would change

The pools, restaurants, views, beach, convenient stores
Nothing

It had everything you need to stay for a week, mainly in-unit washer and dryer.
The only complaint I have is that the parking is quite pricey.

Proximity to areas of interest in the island.
Clean, top notch service by lobby personnel.
Shout out to Shizu, Emy and Ayako who did a wonderful experience at check in and out.
Room was better appointed in floor level 11 than that one of level 32.

There are differences between rooms. I guess I liked more the room in floor 11 than that of floor 32.

Nice Beachside Location with good views. Apartments are spacious and most beds are comfortable (except sofa beds that are unusable). Kitchen and washing facilities are handy. Clean and spacious. Nice Balconies.
The Hawaiian Village would have once been great but it is now too big, lots it’s soul and been overdeveloped and lost any touch of Hawaiian hospitality. Sofa bed quality is terrible. Be aware everything is extra $$ and you will stand in lines and crowds constantly at this property. There are over 5000 rooms and enough facilities for 500 rooms. There are lots of far better options in Waikiki that feel like Hawaii and deliver a hotel experience not a poor quality shopping mall experience.

The property is massive, but has great amenities. It is great for families because it has the lagoon, tons of convenient restaurants and abc stores, and is in an excellent location. The grand islander also has really big units, great customer service and cleaning service.
Really nothing

I like that the resort had all the shops there, there was no need to leave the resort at all

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite instead of a 1 bedroom suite which meant we had plenty of space as a family. The room was well appointed and clean. We had a nice view.
Streaming to the TV from our personal devices didn't work. We didn't enjoy how crowded it was across the property. There wasn't any good coffee or good places on the property, we had to walk quite a way to get to anything good. It was difficult to supervise a child swimming in the pools due to positioning of chairs and/or lack of chairs to sit on.

the cleanliness and location close to a lot of amenities and restaurants, and most especially beach access.
Too many tourists and the time it took to check in. Also was unclear where to check in. Wasted an hour at the main lobby which would have been nice to have clearer directions where to check in.

Loved the location - so many shops and restaurants right at your door step. Also, loved the access to different pools and the beach was very close.
The pillows were horrible.
