Bought our own breakfast, ate in room. Great to have fridge and kitchen on our floor with toaster! Also appreciated the treadmill on a rainy day.

Priced well and clean
It is very dated.

The lodge was close to our destination
The bathroom tile had mold/mildrew in some of the grout. This was most likely because there was little/no ventilation in the bathroom.
Bed was not comfortable.
Waiting 15 minutes for the apparently intoxicated guest in front of us to talk about everything but checking and no one did anything to speed it up.

The room was spotless. The a/c worked well. The location was good.
The bed was not comfortable. The pillows were extremely flat. The wifi wouldn't connect. And the supply of towels in the room wasn't much. Two of each was all there was and they were rough.

There was no breakfast !! Not even a coffee pot in our room.
Room smelled old and musty. Needs new carpet and updated furniture

The breakfast was good but I did enjoy your sausage and gravy and thought it was gonna be there every day Sunday it wasn’t there do you have a really good sausage gravy and biscuit. I would put that in your breakfast every day

Breakfast was very good. We loved the scrambled eggs and the French Toast Casserole especially. The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful. We loved visiting the Maine State Building Museum and the All Souls Chapel. The stain glass windows in the chapel were so pristine and beautiful, they took our breath away. Finally, the grounds and views were gorgeous.
The first night we felt like we were the only people in the Presidential Inn and it was a little eerie, but our room was fine and we were able to get ice from the game room downstairs.

the views such as scenery
Multiple reasons. I’ll start with we were booked in room 192 which was the size of a storage closet with a king size bed a desk and two chairs crammed all together. little space to walk around or even get dressed it. The bed had a big dip on one side so sleeping was very uncomfortable. luckily I brought my own pillow from home so I was able to use the hotel pillow to fill the dip and sleep on top of it. Forever noted when a place says non refundable to walk away and book somewhere else. The hotel had a back up in the bathrooms and you heard the toilets bubbling in the middle of the night. luckily my husband turned the water off the staff was very efficient on getting it fixed as fast as they could, however the cleaning crew never came to clean up the backed up water that was left staining the toilet and tub leaving myself to clean it before giving my daughter a bath for the night. Literally cleaned off feces from another person in our tub or who knows maybe it was ours too. Also let’s not forget the amount of light that shines thru from the door cracks because of how the room is positioned. If you’re a side sleeper like me forget it. Had to use clothes to hang on the door and locks to help block out light from the hall way. The outside lights shined right thru the curtains as well probably didn’t help that they were ripped off the rod.

The grounds and buildings were beautiful. The staff from check in to check out were very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Room was very clean and quiet.
Our room didn't have heat (malfunctioning unit). We were still comfortable in the room with the extra blanket provided. At check out we mentioned it and was pleasantly surprised to receive a partial refund for the stay.
Being off season, no restaurants nearby offering breakfast.

I loved the history and museums. The walking trails and the location. The staff treated us like family.
Due to the heat we really couldn't enjoy the pool. Wish it was inside. Also hard to find gluten free options

It was a nice period property on beautiful grounds.
There was no dining facilities when we arrived around dinner time so ended up having to buy something at the gas station to tie us over. In the morning the shower leaked and there was no hot water.

Staff was wonderful and accommodating. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. Wish I had that at home.
To have and elevator for luggage. More sound proofing between floors and rooms.

Location is great, close to Bates College
There was no hot water and they made no offer of concession to make up for that. When I rent a hotel room, it needs just a few things which are a clean comfortable bed and a clean functional bathroom. If missing either of those, then it did not deliver it's service.
