The location was perfect. Just a short walk through the lodge and outside to the slopes and the village. The bus stop to silver creek was also close.
The mountain lodge itself is outdated and not in a rustic way.
Four people was the right amount for the room. There are two bedrooms, but the pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable.

location.
Not clean at all. The odor… they need to replace the carpet. they need to teach the staff how to clean properly.

This place is great for relaxing with family. It’s an apartment you could live in for weeks if desired. The kitchen and living areas are perfect for lounging and talking for hours. The couch is remarkably good. My sister and I agreed on that.
I was surprised at how high quality the bedrooms were, very nicely appointed. The building materials within the rooms are clearly upscale.
The windows are large enough to give a striking view of Snowshoe Mountain and brighten the living area.
What I like best is the location. Situated between Elkins (Dolly Sods and Roaring Plains) and Cranberry Glades / Falls of Hills Creek so that the hour drive in either direction is acceptable.
The pros outweigh the cons by a few tons, I would say.
Now to weigh in on the cons, which are still quite hefty.
It’s a ski lodge. Not the best place to stay during the summer. Fortunately there is air conditioning in the form of a stand-alone unit, although scarcely enough to cool all rooms. One must attach the duct to the window before running it. Very inconvenient!
Quiet enough place unless you unwittingly book during an ATV/Dirt Bike tournament, when there are revelers out in the parking lot after hours who rush in to stampede down the hallways at 3 AM like a herd of elephants.
There’s enough parking unless crowded for special events, in which case people dart out into the roads and make it virtually impossible to move an inch.
An arduous walk back to the lobby is a must when overflow parking sends autos to the church or hillside.
Not many short cuts to get to the rooms, only two elevators and two automatic entry doors for such a large complex.
The concierge tends to be a touch cross after a day of tolerating guests.

Great location, condo was nice, there have been some updates and plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking meals. Easy check in and out. The staff was very nice.
It was not super clean. We found some toys and dirty clothes left from previous renters left under the beds. there was no dish soap to wash pots and pans.

Didn’t eat breakfast
Could use new pillows in my opinion

Location was great, staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean.
It was a little stuffy (warm) at times inside the unit, but it wasn’t bad.

The lodge was almost empty so it was very private. Very close to the village. Close to scenic lift.
ac was only in the living room making it impossible to actually sleep in the bedrooms. Thank goodness we didn't have any other guests with us or we would have had to ask for another unit. There were notes to just turn on the fan and crack a window, but the fan was also not really working and the window led to a stuffy hallway. We slept on the pull out. Also the listing said this unit was over 7000 square ft which was not true. So glad we didn't book with the guest limit of six!
