Perfect place to go and recoup and relax, it’s lovely and quiet all guests are respectful as well

We loved the location and the views, and the set up is perfect, as you have the pool area to relax and then there is some comfy seating under the umbrella perfect for a chill and read and an evening drinks.

We couldn’t fault it we will be back

Perfect place amazing location to the beach

The location was perfect, the views from the hotel are stunning of llafranc

Small boutique hotel so beautiful, the staff could not do enough for us while we stayed with them, breakfast was lovely every morning. We had a early flight on leaving the hotel they had made a takeaway breakfast 🙂

Nice quiet pool but the unhelpful staff and smoking spoilt our three days

The view from the pool, but if you are a non smoker don’t book into this hotel. There is ‘no smoking’ options and you just can’t get a free space …on your balcony, breakfast, by the pool or on the deck chairs. very disappointing. I was told at checkout a number of other people complained.

To be honest the pictures on their website give one impression but it seemed understaffed and all their staff were grumpy, stressed and unhelpful. We visited a number of the local beaches and towns… I think there is better options. If you are a non smoker it’s a ‘No, No’.

Lovely spacious room with balcony on first floor with gorgeous sea views beyond the pool. Excellent breakfast with good choices. All staff very friendly and efficient.

Exactly what we needed. It was very relaxing and the view was breathtaking.

We liked the pool and the view. The superior room had very good energy. The bathtub was amazing.

pool was absolutely freezing and filthy, full of bugs and a film formed over the top. disappointing as we’d chosen this hotel for the pool and it was completely unusable and cost substantially more than others

Perfect to explore such a fantastic area

The staff were really friendly and approachable. The room, the bathroom and the bed all super comfortable. The view from the pool was also spectacular and there was parking. The breakfast and WiFi were excellent too

I really cannot thing of anything major. Maybe for a 4 star hotel it would have been nice to have a little gift in the room or a small touch like that, but the bottles of water were really appreciated.

Beautiful setting to spend an overnight in Costa Brava!

Beautiful setting and helpful staff as well as delicious breakfast.

At 10PM on there was no available staff. Room decor was outdated and likely a refresh would be beneficial. Parking lot was full upon return in the evening making it a bit of a challenge to park in a designated spot.

Beautiful sea view

Lovely stay, clean & comfortable. Great breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Beautiful sea view.

No dinner available, delicious meal at local restaurant 5 mins walk down but very steep hill to climb on the way back to the Hotel. However we could have driven down. Only two restaurants & no bars open in the area in November.

An excellent hotel for couples to relax or as a base to see Catalunya.

Blau Mar is an excellent hotel, situated above Lla Franc beachfront and a 10-minute walk. One can also walk easily along a coastal path with glorious views to calella, which has more restaurants but the beach in lla franc is bigger and better.. The hotel has good sized rooms and most have a decent sized balcony with good views of the sea. Breakfast is good, largely continental, with one cooked option, which was always egg and bacon. The staff are very helpful and always willing to provide additional tea/coffee as well as info on the area. When my wife and I stayed it was largely couples. One really needs a car to get around and the hotel is certainly a good base for seeing the surrounding area or simply relaxing by the pool or down at the beach, although it is a stiff climb for older people from Lla franc back up to the hotel

Perhaps an alternative cooked meal. The area is expensive generally, although the food in the various restaurants is generally very good.

View amazing, breakfast was very good, the room was very good with great balcony, the staff were very relaxed and spoke very good English

Nothing really, the walk back from the town is a little steep so wear good shoes

The rooms & the hotel in general is old. For some degree, it brings a retro feel, but it also reflects to the comfort. Beds are old, bathroom has the bare minimum in terms of toilettaries. Definitely over priced for what they offer

Great stay in small town with beautiful views of the Med

great rooms great views. breakfast very good. we also had a nice light lunch.

we had a ground floor walk out room that had small loose river rock patio which was hard to walk on without shoes/sandals. artificial turf would have been more comfortable.

peaceful wonderful and we felt renewed. the breakfast is excellent!

Everything was great. it is only 5 minutes from the beach walking so it was nice to have a quiet place to return to since the hotels by the beach are crowded and loud. we loved the peace, the pool, which was perfect temperature, the room big, bathroom big and stylish.

Make sure you are in good shape since the walk to the beach is downhill then uphill to return. not easy if you go with older parents, unless you drive them back to the hotel. otherwise it’s excellent.

A lovely second stay

Location is superb. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast amazing choice and quality with fresh fruit. The pool and the view over the sea and town is simply breathtaking. This was our second stay and we will come back.

We have no criticisms. However, having now stayed in a ground floor room and 1st floor room ( both are really comfortable), our preference is 1st floor for the view.
