A lovely, friendly hotel in a beautiful setting and a great place to stay with a dog!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location with very friendly staff who made us and our dog very welcome. The spa facilities were good and the outdoor spa area was great with the hot tub.

We enjoyed the eveing meal at the hotel but for the price we felt portion sizes could have been bigger. A great range of breakfast choice but our cooked breakfast did arrive cold!

Beautiful location but hotel standard and service fell short.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The location itself was amazing and a particular treat to be able to watch the deer from the hotel windows. The spa facilities were lovely, though no protected adults only time. Bed and bedding was very comfortable.

Breakfast service was very slow, and we needed to ask them to top up the continental options. We booked dinner in the adults only section of the restaurant but were then joined by two families with children. Food and drinks were also very overpriced. The room wasn't particularly clean, and had a remote air conditioning unit with a pipe hanging out of a propped open window. This meant we couldn't close the curtains properly and it took up space in an already small room.

The food and service are not up to any sort of standard that you would expect by the cost paid

The location was fantastic.

Food was absolutely terrible, we were completely robbed. Every drink we collected from the bar even the ones the children did had service charges. The rack of lamb that cost me over £30 turned out to be two very small cutlets. Overall standard of food was very basic and for the money I don’t know how they can justify it. Most of the food from dinner was left from the four of us.

Relaxing break in a lovely location.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location with super facilities. There were renovations going on at the time of stay but didn't make an impact and staff were very welcoming. Spa was great and they looked after us all very well and were gentle with the first time teens. Breakfast was good selection and quality.

Minor quibbles - the put-me-up bed in the room was small (teenager using, prob better for a younger child) and the blind didn't work so very light in the morning.

I was celebrating my 40th birthday and I was disappointed

The facilities were wonderful, the food and the majority of the staff were lovely. Kind, cheerful. The service in the restaurant was absolutely appalling. My mum with a heart condition took very poorly and we couldn’t get a jug of water for almost 20 mins. We then waited to order our food and had our plates in front of us after we had eaten for 30 mins

The service in the restaurant as per above. We didn’t sleep - the rooms were so hot and with a technical fault with the air conditioning and being taped up made being in the room quite unbearable. My mum has a heart condition, frail and we were at the very top of the building.

10/10 new forest getaway

The staff were exceptional! Hats off to Donna especially! The deluxe room was so spacious and clean. The bed was nothing short of luxury. The grounds of this hotel are spectacular, with views of deer and horses. The new forest is on your doorstep!

The smaller rooms could use a bit of modernising and TLC

A very pleasant and relaxing short stay.

Good choice for breakfast and very adequate. Lovely quiet rural location but do need transport to get to nearest town. Lovely walks close by. Hotel caters well for families. Excellent spa facilities and lovely pool. Staff very pleasant.

Very clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds - a special hotel with high standards but with a down to Earth family friendly atmosphere - love it!

expensive a daily special in the restaurant would have added some variety to the menu when staying & dining for a few nights

Disappointing they claim to be a luxury hotel but don’t deliver

Location was great

I paid for a nail manicure The “professional” girl cut my cuticles off and too much so ended with bleeding fingers and in pain So would not recommend it Restaurant over priced and menu misleading My husband and I are chefs. My husband ordered a chicken dish which didn’t match the description It was dry and unappetising

A relaxing place to stay with children.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Animals just outside were a great bonus for our child. Food was lovely and the swimming pool was well maintained. Also, activities for kids was a great idea. They also had free milk and cookies in a little basket for kids at bedtime - so thoughtful!

Lovely location, breakfast joy good plenty choice with excellent customer care. Receptionist who amended my booking absolutely charming in the same insist professional. Have stayed in numerous hotels, however for comfort and facilities extremely good. loved the swimming pool and water temperature spot on!!

The choice in the restaurant expensive rather over rated - certainly in need of more choice. The atmosphere and deco didn't match or reflect the restaurant surroundings. However charming staff - not at all a complaint in any way rather an observation. have worked in hospitality many years as a trainer therefore totally clued up on hotels and front of house and customer care and individual needs.
