The property owner was so quick to respond and was so accommodating! This is a perfect property for a large group. The two houses are spaced a part with multiple areas to congregate. I would recommend this to others!

We had 5 families with plenty of room for everybody. Great grandma and grandma took the apartment and were able to get away if needed. We had room to store all the food in 3 different refrigerator. Plenty of kitchen utensils, dishes. spices and appliances if needed. Most definitely will take advantage of going back next year we all enjoyed it. Thanks for the memories.

The property situates very well for bigger groups. There are essentially 3 separate areas accessible by their own entrance. We enjoyed the property and its Old Town location for short golf cart ride to restaurants, fishing ramp, and beach. Great spot!

Had a great time in Port A, we loved that we could walk to the docks from the house. The different levels of the combined VRBO listings was great for our group of 8, everyone had their own bedroom!
The game area with the tiki bar was neat though I think the pool table could use an upgrade. No matter we still had fun!
The AC worked great and we used the fire pit and grill while we were there.
Would stay here again for sure!

Perfect Stay!
This house had everything we needed and more! It was perfect for our multiple families and friends. There is plenty of space for everyone to have their own privacy, yet still remain cozy enough, when we all wanted to be together. The homes are beautifully decorated, clean and have everything you need and more. The game room was so much fun to enjoy with foosball, a pool table and a tiki bar. There was something for the kids and adults.
The location couldn’t have been better being close to the marina, beach, coffee shopping and great restaurants, so everyone had plenty of places close to go on foot or in the golf carts. We also enjoyed the two private yards. We definitely will be back!

There are actually 3 sections of homes. It's a perfect stay for a large family and or friends. Perfect location, walking distance to pretty much everything.
Bedding was very comfy, the house was clean, (which a a huge, huge deal for me). The only reason I gave an overall 4 stars is because the master bedroom and master bath in the upstairs to the right had a sewer smell to it. I do know that they are doing some work. But who goes to Port A and stays in their bedroom all day.
We would definitely stay here again!

This is our go-to rental when we have large groups. The house is wonderful. It has so many break out areas for getting away from the group, if you want to, and read a book or just sit on the upper deck and feel the Coastal breeze! Short walking distance to everything.

I’ll start with, this house is on the market. I doubt it will pass inspection. My husband and I + our children were the unlucky ones that had to take the downstairs space. We immediately noticed a very strong musty smell. So strong that we actually decided against sleeping in any of the bedrooms as the smell seemed to be worse in the rooms. After further inspection, we noticed the AC units were filthy, moldy and not all of them were working. So one of the rooms was not cool enough to sleep in even if you could get past the smell.
Also discovered after our kiddos put their clothes in the dresser compartments, they have mold in them as well. If I had to guess, there is most likely mold in the ventilation system. As mentioned in a previous review, the glass on the front door is shattered. Had it shattered all the way through during our stay, that would’ve obviously been problematic so we were extra careful when closing that door. We saw roaches in the downstairs and upstairs kitchen (while making breakfast). I did bring all of this to the home owners attention during our stay. And let her know that we did not occupy the downstairs space the last night as we wanted to get our kids out of there and could no longer sleep on the futon. The space in it’s entirety was not able to be used to its full potential due to the mold issues. She agreed to refund for the downstairs space and text me saying she would send screen shots of refund, that never happened.

All of the air filters needed to be replaced. Water was leaking onto the pool table in the game room. There were quite a few water roaches. The window was broken on the downstairs front door. Had a great time with our family but will not rent this property again for our annual trip.

Our family and our older kids loved this house! The owners were there upon arrival and showed us around and they were so incredibly friendly! We rented the entire house, allowing for our 19-year-old daughter and her friends to stay in the Tiki suite for her birthday. My husband and our younger kids stayed in the main home, which is lovely. One of our older daughters and her friend stayed in the other house. It was the perfect place to be together but also have personal space. The game room was a big hit! We brought a karaoke machine along for the birthday party and that was a lot of fun!
The outdoor spaces are also perfect!
Location is great! So close to the ferry and to the beach. The owners respond very quickly if there are questions or issues.
We will definitely stay here again!

Had room for all 19 of us to spread out and be really comfortable. What a great layout and close to everything. Thanks again for Memorial Day gift pack.

My large family had a great time in this home. It was spacious and had lots of separate hangout spots so we could be together but not always together, if you know what I mean. There were a few maintenance issues that I made the owner aware of and they are going to pass along to the management company, but luckily nothing that ruined the trip. Lots of (exterior) stairs between all the separate living quarters. Which is fine, but a nuisance in the rain. The back yard was nice. The BBQ grills are charcoal in case you were wondering. The fire pit was another great hangout when it wasn't raining. There was lots of parking, including about 5 parking spaces in the driveways and room for more in front of the house.

We were in a relatively good walking range for quite a few stores and restaurants. The closest beach is roughly a 25min walk so we drove instead which only took roughly 4mins. We had both units and overall it was it was a lot of fun especially with with the games at the location. Downstairs around the tiki area can get humid and stuffy, but there are dehumidifiers to help combat against it.

Great house for a family reunion
This house was perfect for our family. We had 22 plus a baby in a playpen for sleeping. It gave us separation when needed. Great location. We had a couple of hiccups at first, but they were taken care of immediately. The icons for the beds are a bit different. There is a hide a bed in the 2nd house left side upstairs. Kids had a great time. We used the main house, right side upstairs for our cooking and gathering. I would rent again. We rented June 15-18, 2021. Sally

Super house!
Let me start by saying this place is perfect. It is no longer coral color- it's been painted blue. The main living room couches have also been updated from those pictured.
The main house upstairs is beatifully stocked with everything you need to cook for your family. 2 bedrooms upstairs are king sized, very comfortable beds with nice furnishings. There is a small room with a twin daybed and trundle upstairs, and a laundry room.
The main house downstairs is 3 bedrooms plus a small seating area, kitchenette, dinette and a large game room. 1 bedroom is full over full bunks and a futon, one bedroom is twin over full bunks and the 3rd bedroom is a queen with no other furniture. There game room has a pool table, fooseball table, tiki bar, games. The backyard is fabulous with shade trees, constant breeze, seating, ping pong table, bean bag toss, bbq pit, yard bowling. Someone mentioned that some of the things advertised weren't actually there, but I thought the house was well stocked with anything you could possibly want and matched the description of the home perfectly. The apartment over the garage is 2 bedroom- one king, one queen with a nicely stocked kitchen, living room and washer/dryer.
The owner of the home was super responsive and very nice. The local property manager never did call me back or respond to my texts but the homeowner handled it quickly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon. I highly recommend this rental!

Description is outdated
Don't rely on the pictures. There is no bunk room. There is no foosball table. Both a disappointment to young cousins hoping to room together. In the apartment downstairs, there is 3 SMALL bedrooms with no cabinets or dressers or table to hold suitcases in 2 of the rooms. We did fine with the layout but the listing did not mention the main house is upstairs or that the apartment was not one level. I thought the bunk room was part of the main house. It is not. It is part of the apartment. You have to go outside to go between the apartment and the main house. There is a giant step up in the bathroom in the apartment and another step to get to the tiny bedroom that had the queen bed. These were important things for us to know as we had several guests who use a cane due to knee issues. The apartment has the 2 rooms with bunkbeds, a room with a queen bed and the pool table. The kitchen is now a kitchenette with very little counter space. The apartment does not have central air. It has individual units. The units in the queen room and the small bunk room were dirty and had error messages during our stay. There were also dehumidifiers that needed emptying as soon as we walked in, but no directions on what setting to use were provided, so we guessed. The small bath on the apartment had a malfunctioning toilet and the shower drained really really slow. Minimal toilet paper was given. I have never been told to supply toilet paper at my vrbo. One roll of paper towels in the main house and one roll for the apartment. There were 14 of us, so this was not enough which is fine, but the property manager was not apologetic, sympathetic or accommodating to either paper need. A few roaches were seen in both units. The main house upstairs is really nice and it is a stark contrast to bare bones less glamorous apartment. All of this came as a surprise since the pictures are almost all wrong. When we pulled up, we didn't know where the front door was to the main house. The checkin email had a wrong code for one of the doors and no wifi directions were given. Melanie was unreachable for weeks 2 different times. I actually had to ask VRBO customer service for help. When she was finally available, she was kind and accomodating. I have used VRBO several times and never encountered these issues. Overall we had a good time, but had we known about the layout, accomodations, and AC issues, we might not have chosen this rental.

Had issues getting in the house, no one knew where the key was and the key box did not work.
The pictures online was different from what the inside actually was. Check in did not go as planned. No one knew where the keys were. Washer did not work. Nice house, home owner was helpful but the other lady not so much.

Great place to stay for large parties
My group and I were very pleased with the property and with the friendliness of the host. The proximity to all the local restaurants, bars, and shops made our trip easy and fun. The listing did list more beds then were actually available, however our group made it work with little issue. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend this property to others!

Wonderful location
This was our 3rd home to stay in Port A and was our favorite. The location is outstanding and arrangements great. Loved to fire pit out back. Extra tables available for serving food outside. Owner and property manager were very resposive. Will stay again. Pictures need updating since Harvey Hurricane. Decorations newer and fun.

Full family Getaway
This property was just what we needed for our full family, it slept all 23 members of our family comfortably. It let us all be at the same place but also gave us or own space when we needed it. The property was in a very convenient spot to the grocery store, the beach and the ferry. When I go back to Port Aransas, which I will be, this will very well be the property I stay at again. I do admit it took a little time for the property owner to respond to my emails prior to our stay but in the end Melanie and Cheri were great. They accommodated our needs very nicely. I personally loved the area and loved spending all my days at the beach. They did some updates to the property and actually added a bedroom the 1 bdrm apt on the lower half of the property so that was nice. Check in and check out process was a breeze, no issues. Lots of parking available, no issues with neighbors, air condition worked very well, cooking pans and kitchen area nicely set up with everything we needed to make big family meals. Overall, the property was wonderful, clean and accommodated my family, can't wait till next time.

One of the best!!!!
This is a really “special” place to stay! We would recommend it to all! A large family or group of friends can be comfortable here.
This site is located in town but away from the crowds!
Also, Melanie has the amenities needed provided; coffee, etc!
We look forward to our next visit here!! For sure!

Welcome to the Cockroach Motel
We were very disappointed in this property. We rented the whole property in December of 2018 for a group of 12. We arrived to find the property unkept on the exterior with full ashtrays and garbage present. The interior of this home was filthy. Dirty dishes in the cabinets, mold growing in a dirty coffee pot, blood stained sheets on one of the beds, a broken toilet seat in one of the baths, cockroaches running rampant through the residence and throughout the kitchen cabinets. The lower level of this home was terribly musty. Our group elected to leave early as it was not a pleasant atmosphere to stay in.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Close to beach and stores
The owners were friendly and helpful on the phone. The property is good size and there are plenty of towels provided. It's well decorated and there was AC in every room. For the price, I would have liked to see more attention to detail and repair of broken household items.

Wonderful property and plenty of space for our family and friends!!!
The homes are well decorated and spacious. The kids and adults enjoyed the playing pool and air hockey in the game room after a day at the beach. I really loved sitting around the authentic Tiki Bar and fire pit making amores with the kids. The location couldn't be better by all the great resturants, shopping ,music venues and beach close by. Golf cart rental down the street and they were our main source of transportation . We plan to stay here the next time we
come to Port Aransas. The owner Melanie and the property manager Cheri could not have been more helpful and a pleasure to work with. The Port A Tropical Hideaway was Wonderful!!!

Great Location, lots of room
We rented this house for Fourth of July week. There were 13 of us, 4 couples, grandma, 3 teens and a single. We all fit perfectly in the three apartments. All three spaces are separate which was great for our purposes, however if you have small children you will want someone to be in the downstairs apartment with them since the three spaces do not connect. Also not really handicapped accessible or for the elderly. The downstairs apartment was good but the step up to the bathroom made it hard for grandma. She stayed upstairs with the daybed and enjoyed going outside her room to the deck to read. Melanie was great, just a text or phone call away. We walked or golf carted everywhere. The grill worked great and the outside seating area was nice.

Weekend getaway!
For the first time, the pictures represent exactly what you're paying for. Very relaxing and quiet! We had more than enough space. Our only downfall was the Mosquitos in the evening from all of the rain. My family wanted to stay a week after arriving. Highly recommended for multiple or large families! Thank you for opening up your home to us!

AWESOME PLACE!! A MUST SEE AND STAY PLACE!
This place was great! We rented the main house, 2 bedroom apartment next to it and the downstairs apartment. It all connects so fluently! Melanie was awesome. She answered every question I had. Its spacious and the kids love the game room downstairs. It is decorated beautifully, close to beach, restaurants, stores. Will definitely be back!!
