Overrated and very overpriced. The accommodation was a very small room (that barely fitted the bed) in a 1960's house located on a busy main road. The room had a very small bathroom with a tiny sink and no bench space. The TV in the room was tiny. The only light switch was near the door- there was no switch near the bed or bedside lights (not surprising as there was only one rickety bedside table!). The limited furniture including the bed was very cheap. There was no table in the room, no fridge and no tea making facilities (i.e.: no bench or kettle). There were two 'stacked' chairs (but there was no space to place them!) There was no WiFi. Traffic noise was high and continuous all night. The business is husband and wife operated (I would think retirees) and the husband was very rude. When we arrived 5.00pm he said we had told him 6.00pm arrival and the room wasn't ready (no 'welcome and hope you enjoy your stay'!). When we left, we placed the key in the inside lock of the bedroom door as specifically instructed by the wife. I then got three offensive phone calls from the husband accusing me of not leaving the key and threatening to charge us $50 for a replacement key. A fourth call from him was an apology for his previous accusations- his wife had removed the key from the door (shame he didn't ask her before making obnoxious calls!). To advertise this accommodation as 'boutique' is simply laughable and extremely misleading. Having earl grey teabags in the 'common kitchen' does not make the place 'boutique'. The accommodation was below 'basic'. Very disappointing. I travel alot and this would be one of the worst places that I have stayed.

Able to prepare quick breakfast and coffee in the kitchen
Uncleaned and added cost for extra bed without adding it. Just added the same bed which has been mentioned in the description of the booked room. Uncleaned, bugs on the beds and tidy rooms and shared toilets where the locks are not working are horrible. Definitely not recommended for family and never book this property again.

Very minimalistic from a facilities POV but the place was quite cute and definitely a boutiquey feel about it. Great for just a 1 nighter for convenience of location.
the price. I could have stayed at Cypress for same amount, this place was just closer to the venue of the event I went to.

I cannot praise Beryl enough for the incredible care and attention she provided. From the moment we walked into the establishment, Beryl's warm smile and genuine kindness immediately made me feel welcome.

Richard and Florence were amazing and I felt at home! The guest house is beautiful with many different areas you can sit and hang out in if you dont want to sit in your room. The transfers from Newcastle also made it very convenient and saved me from hiring a car.

Very clean and good value for money. Convenient location close to wineries
Coffee and tea available in the lobby
Not sure if the pool was accessible, looked like not in fuction, a dip in would have been refreshing...

Friendly and warm welcome. Richard was very helpful and full of useful information about the local area and if we require anything during our stay.
We stayed in the spa room looking out onto the pool area and it is spacious for a family.
Getaway Inn Boutique Guest House is central located to many attractions such as mins away from Hunter Valley Zoo, fast food such as McDonald's and Cessnock pool and splash zone. Its value for money and great location for families. As it was hot outside it was perfect to cool off and have a swim in the salt water pool which was a hit with the children.

location except it was on a main road. people very nice and accommodating.
single beds when we’re a couple; no hooks on bathroom door; bathroom very cramped; exhaust fan on your back when out of shower drying; difficult brushing teeth as there was a glass shelf immediately over basin.
Very old style in general. Not accommodation we would normally stay at.
