Good place to call home away from home

The stay was good and in good neighborhood.

When first got there, lawn was over grown and patio furniture and chairs were very dirty.
Beds were uncomfortable and one chair in living room was lumpy and couldn't sit in it. Upstairs was too warm to sleep. Decor was outdated. But we did enjoy our stay with our group of friends.

overall it was good, coffee pot leaked all over the place every time, could use some new pans, only 2 cooking for 8 not quite enough, hair in shower drains

Perfect stay for couples or families looking to take advantage of visiting the beautiful country in Black River Falls.

We had a group of 6, 3 couples. We were all able to have a floor each along with a bathroom to ourselves.
It was very nice. We would definitely come back again.
My only suggestion would be to remove some of the items off counter and decor so there is more room to sit things your bringing along.
Thank you for a great stay away from home!

We had a great time enjoying the beach and paddleboarding at Wazee Lake. The home was a perfect spot to recoup after a day in the sun and we were able to walk just 1 block to get dinner at Re-Petes. Thank You!

Nice property. Plenty of room for 4 couples. Beds okay. Little hard..but overall comfy place to stay and location was great. Would stay again.

This is a nice home. Several bedrooms and baths. We were visiting family in the area and their home was full with other family members, so this was a nice and convenient place to stay, within a few miles of the family home. Walking in the area was nice as it is a comfortable walk to the downtown strip, or even shorter walk to the convenience store and restaurant.

Excellent stay! Loved that with 13 people we had plenty of towels after riding the trails for 8+ hours. Re-Pete restaurant within walking distance was by far the best place we ate! Clean cozy. Great communication- I appreciate that

Great place. 5 nice bedrooms.

The property was very clean. The entry with the lockbox was very easy to use. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch. Location was very convenient and quiet. It was at the end of a dead end street and there was a very nice bar/restaurant within walking distance. The town had several antique stores which my sister enjoyed. We also enjoyed the Mexican restaurant. The flexibility with adding additional bedrooms worked out well for us as my brother and sister-in-law decided to join us at the last moment.

this was a beautiful home to stay in.
the only issue any of the people had staying there was that the basement bedrooms and bathroom were locked. so two of them ended up sharing a bed. Other than that it was clean and comfortable.

Great Stay
The communications process with the Property Owner was quickly and thoroughly responsive to my many questions as this was my first VRBO experience. The property was super clean and very comfortable, everything was as described in the listing. A very comfortable place for a quiet stay. Would be glad to stay here again.

Should be called Nick knack house
To many hidden fees, 4 guys and you had to
Pay extra for 2 extra bedrooms. Not noted anywhere in information. So
Much knickknacks in the house. Lots of safety issues. Back porch light doesn’t work, dangerous walk down the stairs at night. 3 outlets had faulty wiring, when you plug something in or unplug you get a shower of sparks. One outlet when you plug something in it turns off the range hood light. Not a safe place to stay at.

Comfortable and clean
I shared this house with a group of 9 friends, we were all happy with how clean it was and how many beds/bedroom options there were. We played games in the living room which easily fit all of us when we brought over the dining room chairs, and were able to cook a few meals in the well appointed kitchen. The owners quickly answered all my questions leading up to trip, and made check in a breeze. We rented a pontoon on nearby lake Arbutus which I’d also recommend, and had a great time all around.

Great area right on a dead end road. Close to everything
Had a great time visiting family. Very clean but lot of foliage inside. One family member developed allergies.

Sisters getaway
Great location! We each had our own bedroom which was perfect. The owner left some fun “amenities”, which was appreciated. However, there are MANY artificial flowers and plants that were very dusty, causing an allergy problem. Too much clutter; would not recommend for those with small children. Carly, the owner, was very responsive and helpful.

Nice place to stay if ever in Black River Falls.
I did not see in the original description the breakdown of number of people versus number of rooms that would be available. I booked this over a year ago and because of the fact that there would be 5 of us, thought it would be nice to have our own rooms. I decided to look at new reviews before we went there and found out by those reviews that all 5 beds were not available to us unless we paid more. This came as a surprise to me, not sure how I missed that in the listing. But we proceeded to rent all 5 beds, the twin bed was not comfortable so was not slept in, a child might not of minded it. I also read that there was too much clutter, and they're right, a little less (fake) foliage and things would be good, but it's not a deal breaker. It's just that when you add your own things to the mix it gets a little more cluttered. That and the wifi connection was almost zilch, not barely a bar, laptop was not internet accessible neither was my kindle, so if you're planning on doing any 'business' while staying you better have your own 'hotspot' or such. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. (maybe not 13 people as that would be a little crowded but if all you want to do is have a place to crash for nighttime it would do).
It was clean and well stocked, we ate out mostly found some good food at some local places. so we never cooked, we only used the coffee pot. but everything you could possibly need was there.
Cute place. Located on a dead end road with a bar and grill at the other end of the block, within walking distance, actually there was another bar and grill within walking distance also.
Would I stay there again? yes.

Perfect place for our daughter's wedding weekend
This home was perfect alternative than a hotel for our daughter's wedding weekend. We had plenty of room for all the wedding items and could relax in a cozy "home" setting instead of a hotel. The kitchen was handy for making a quick breakfast and the house was very clean. Most of all we were thrilled with the peace and quiet in the surrounding neighborhood.
Thanks for sharing your home.

Second visit in 2 months
Back in town for another event and opted to stay here again. The owner had a few more box fans around which will be helpful when the A/C is needed. Just as note in another review...dated inside, but very clean. We would stay again.

Cousins Get-Together
We totally enjoyed our stay at this rental home! The accommodations were perfect for us...three bedrooms, kitchen, living room space, and deck. Very clean and well-maintained. The location is also very quiet and private, but “downtown” Black River Falls is just a few miles away.

Five star
My family and I enjoyed our stay, the home is very clean and a home away from home. Not far from Three Bears and Wazee Lake which I highly recommend, grocery shopping is close by, too. We would go back!!

Mid-Summer short stay
We were in town for a waterskiing event. The house was clean and mostly well-represented in the listing (I didn't realize that there were bedrooms in the basement). We had 8 people there but still didn't get access to the 3rd bathroom in the basement. Not sure why, but didn't bother to raise questions about it during our stay. The house is a 1980's time capsule, but clean.
There are LOTS of decorations all over the house. So much so that you are tripping over stuff. Personal preference, maybe. Most rental properties utilize the "less is more" philosophy when decorating.
It was rather warm outside during our stay; the A/C was on. The second floor was so stuffy and hot and the owner specifically noted that the settings for the A/C not be lowered from where they were set. I tried to use the ceiling fan in the second floor B/R and the thing was so wobbly and loud that we just suffered in the heat. The ceiling fan in the L/R was the same way. There is probably a 15 degree difference from second floor to basement.
Overall we were mostly satisfied. We will be there again later this summer for another short stay. I just hope we can find a better way to manage the air flow to the second floor. It would be great to be back to find some new ceiling fans that were efficient and quiet (and not so wobbly).
Don't let my criticisms shadow the fact that the house is well-equipped and CLEAN. It is on a quiet street in a good location (at least for us). We will go back.

Clean and Comfortable, but dated.
The property was clean and comfortable, but needs major updating. The decor reminded us of Grandma's 1980s country kitsch style. The house had a little bit of stale odor, especially the downstairs accomadations. Internet Wi-Fi worked sporadically and tall weeds in the landscaping around the house.

Black River Falls 6/16-19
We enjoyed our time in the home. It was perfect for our family. I think it should be plainly stated on the fee structure how much will be charged by number of people and rooms along with any additional fees that would be added. I’ve personally never stayed somewhere where rooms were locked depending on number of guests. Earlier reviews were a little harsh about one shower and decorations but it was fine. It was quiet and comfortable. The owner was quick to respond to our requests.

Lovely Home!
Lovely home and highly recommend! Very accommodating, clean and extremely comfortable. The home is stocked well with the necessary items for your stay. Property owner is pleasant and is quick to respond if any questions. Enjoy your stay as we had.

Its just ok
Ants in master bathroom, to much elephant and flowers decor and couldn't make DVD player work. But area is quite and house was warm with plenty of cooking and shower towels.
