We LOVED this Wonderful boutique Hotel in Dhaka -- the Room, the Restaurant and Exceptional Service!

We LOVED the modern room (similar to good US hotels), the management, the staff, their services, the wonderful restaurant, and a great location in Dhaka! We are Americans of Bangladeshi origin. We travel all over the US and the world, so we can easily compare the accommodations, amenities, meals and services of any hotel. In July 2024, my brother and I stayed for 16 nights. We give Marino Royal Hotel in Uttara our highest rating for a boutique hotel! It is noteworthy that our stay coincided with the massive political disturbance in Bangladesh. Yet, the hotel service did not skip a beat, everything went flawlessly for us! The hotel management, the staff from the front desk to housekeeping to the on-premises restaurant exceeded our expectation even during the difficult period in Dhaka. Our experience began with the Manager Mr. Anwar Hossain who promptly responded to my questions that I messaged from the US while booking the room. The housekeeping staff looked after our every need from cleaning the room meticulously to providing fresh towels to stocking the refreshments in our room refrigerator. The restaurant on the 10th floor is beautifully appointed with exceptionally attendant wait staff; and the 40-item breakfast buffet (included in our room price) is to die for – extremely flavorful variety of dishes! We want to give a special thankyou to Chef Peter and his staff for planning and executing a special dinner for a party we threw for my sister's family in the hotel's restaurant. The dinner party was phenomenal!!! We felt extremely safe with the security arrangements at this hotel. In future, we expect to stay at this hotel again during our visits to Dhaka when my wife will accompany me to visit my sister’s family who lives nearby in Uttara. Lastly, we bid our deep appreciation to the entire staff and management of Marino Royal Hotel in Uttara for making our stay comfortable and full of joy! --- Dr. M Rifat Ullah, Connecticut, USA

Exceptional

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The workers are very polite and helpful. Breakfast is common, but the restaurant is very hygiene clean and food was tasty. We have been met at the airport and transferred after check out as well. Airport is about 10 mins by car. Near the hotel there are a few stores to buy some food and souvenirs. Thank you!

Despite having made a reservation for the hotel through booking.com, I encountered a frustrating situation upon my arrival. Unfortunately, the hotel had overbooked its rooms, leaving me without accommodation for my intended stay. It was disheartening to be faced with the unexpected news that I could not stay at the hotel I had carefully chosen and booked.

Superb

Simply supply of additional water at the room should not be charged. Hotel rent is already very high for supplying additional bottles of water again asking money is not good for the hotel. Really I got surprised when they sent hotel boy to conveying the message to me. I disagreed to take water. Even tea/ coffee for only one time stock kept in the room is not a good hotel quality. Please take all these issues.

Good hotel but had poor experience on this occation.

Excellent shuttle service, they collected me from the airport and dropped off again on departure. The Driver Tanzil is very good well mannered and professional

The Reception Manager disputed the booked price in booking.com and tried to charge me a higher price and delayed my checkout by half an hour. They took the payment on checkin and asked me to pay again on checkout again. I produced my payment receipt but he still carried on the argument for 30 minutes more that I didn't pay enough. For the second time there was no hot water in the shower and and came home with a cold and was ill for a week. However, After I submitted my initial review the manager got in touch with me and apologised for payment dispute. Then persisted with request to revise my review no less than 5 times so I have now submitted by revised review but I am not deleting any of the original comments as it is based on truth. If they want a better review they better make sure that there is hot water in the shower no matter what time of the day or night I take a shower. I intend to go there again and hope for a better service.

Very good

Great location and comfortable bed. Rain shower was however not in good standard. I missed a sunroof top with a pool. Everything else was very good. Staff wonderful, food as well.

Total of 3 nights we stayed, and it's totally worth for the money, Front desk are always helpful, and friendly. Room is a bit outdated, but it is clean and wide room. Not much of noise as it located inner lane, so you could have a good sleep.

The hotel is situated relatively close to the airport, but in Uttara where there is not the noice of the roads or landing airplaines. There are coffee chops and restaurants in the area. The airport shuttle was good and free of cost.

The property advertises fitness centre available. when I went to the reception I was informed is on the 10th floor and it was available to use. Then when I went to the 10 floor to access the fitness centre I was informed it was out of order. Also when I checked in I paid the full amount according to booking.com price plus the tax charges and everything, then in the fallowing morning I was asked to pay another amount again. according to front desk staff member he changed the wrong amount on check in

Hot water was not consistent and the lift wasn't working so we had to use the stairs for breakfast and staff helped with our luggage when checking out.
