The Beach
As soon as we arrived, we knew what to expect, the entrance welcomes you with the rubbish bin in a very dirty and unkempt area, with dogs running around peacefully, together with turkeys, roosters, hens… the room was very dirty, during the night we saw two huge cockroaches !!! the next morning, there was no water, we reported it and a guy arrived with two buckets of water, without even providing any information… for me, traveling with my family, with two small children, it was a very bad experience not to be repeated, I do not recommend it !!!!

Really good breakfast.
We should have used the mosquito netting provided. We had no problem with the mosquitos when we first went to bed, but had many bites in the morning. Again, if we'd used the provided netting, I think we'd have had no problem.

The staff here are extremely friendly, ready to help and keep it all very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and other meals were also enjoyable. Lovely to sit on the beach to eat with fabulous views. The beach walks are gorgeous and we enjoyed our many swims.
Provides a rustic but comfortable experience. We enjoyed our stay very much

The resort is out-of-the-way, a little, which makes it more private. Wonderful atmosphere, great cabanas, good food, nice staff, nice big bed. My second time there, great experiences both times. very relaxing, like a little village. Great memories.
no real complaints. We were relaxing in bed and thought we might like to watch a movie on the TV. Great picture but no sound. Again, I don’t go to places like that to watch TV so.. not a big issue. come prepared to pay cash just in case the credit card machine isn’t functioning.

Wonderful surprise of a place. You drive off the main road onto a dirt road that takes you through the forest and directly to the beach. No buildings, just 3 super cosy cabins with a porch, hammocks and nice tables and chairs, an incredible interior, enormous, spacious, with great bathroom and a huge bed, airco and good fans. Another tatched-roofed area to host the bar and kitchen, and a number of small straw-roofed kiosks for dinner and breakfast.
You literally wake up on the sand, 3 meters from the shore.
Food is excellent, one fully unplugs from town, hotels and anything that is not green or blue.
You can take a nice walk along the beach to the left and you'll reach Playa Rogelio, full with food-serving kiosks and a super lively atmosphere.
Hens with chickens, puppies next to her mummy, more dogs and even a massage area.
Great price for such a natural, well equipped, beautifully located accommodation!
The mosquitos!!!! Bring a repellent!

Amazing location, a bungalow right at the beach (all 3 of them are at the beach), nice local breakfast, a wild beach which is not overcrowded with tourists except with some locals who come mostly during the weekend. A great romantic escape.
Some small compromises on cleanliness and politeness of the staff but nothing disturbing, most of the staff were very nice and helpful.

They really need to fix the showers, also It was a bit noisy, due to motorbikes going and coming all day

The location, the staff, the calmness and ease of access of the ocean. Thank you for the extra bottles of water in the room (it was great to have 2 for drinking and 2 for brushing teeth, etc.).
Unfortunately, the breakfast was overly salty (both the scrambled eggs and the mangu). Previously when we stayed here the breakfast was perfect. So use the salt more sparingly in the future, please.

You can't beat the location, and the cost was a great value. We enjoyed paella for dinner, and it was the best we've had in the D.R.
Could have used 4 bottles of water in the room (instead of just 2). Needed 2 for drinking, and 2 for brushing teeth, etc. Really had to conserve our 2 bottles for one night. Also, it needs to be stated more clearly that they only let you pay in Dominican dollars (in cash). We almost didn't have enough for dinner, as well as the room, because the ATM in Rio San Juan was not working on our way to the hotel. Our online booking site said they took major credit cards, but they DID NOT accept credit cards. It turned out OK, but it could have caused a real problem. If you don't speak Spanish BE SURE to read the hours of service for the restaurant posted in the room. We misunderstood the staff, and thought they didn't SERVE dinner until 8 p.m. Actually, they accepted seating for dinner UP UNTIL 8 p.m. If we hadn't seen the fine print of the sign posted on the wall, in the back of the room, we might have missed dinner. Not the staff's fault, we just couldn't understand each other. Instead of posting this information in fine print, in a darkened corner, maybe enlarge the print, and have in a more obvious folder on the bed (at check-in).
