We had plenty of space for our big family, the house was well stocked with very easy check-in and check-out. It was a great place to stay overall - especially for walking a short distance to the beach!

We found the beach house & cottage clean and comfortable. The exterior of both is in need of some TLC. A short walk to the beach provided amazing water fun for our group of 10. Appreciated the air cond as it was really warm for Duluth (90).

Convient access to the beach

Pros:
Met priority needs for our extended family group of six adults, two preschoolers, two small dogs; host quickly accessible and accommodating; ideal location; 3 minute back yard walk to spectacular beach which feels private; close to Canal Park. House is old with many of the design issues that come with its era. (We know, we live in one.) However nicely remodeled and well stocked kitchen, large dining area; interesting and nicely updated bathrooms; private backyard; one of few rentals that allows dogs. Perfect for two people who biked all over Duluth and loved the bike lane in front of the house; old-fashioned three season front porch fun to watch the passersby. Made good use of the fire pit and appreciated the wood supply in the garage
Cons;
House and cottage could use some updates- most importantly need a cottage AC and dehumidifier, new cottage mattresses and double bed, linens both houses. Description of layout needs to be more clear for families and those with mobility issues. Be aware that house bathrooms and bedrooms are both on the upper floor so challenging for older folks and younger children. No elevator as stated in description.

Our family loved the location, especially the beach access. We found a lovely walkable private spot on the bay side to watch the July 4th fireworks - magical.
The main building was in good condition, but the back cabin needed updating, better furniture, and removal of the musty smell. The back cabin does not have air conditioning or fans in each room.

This is our 13th summer visit to Park Point, and our 12th year in this amazing house. We will never stay anywhere else!

Clean property and private. Loved beech access and location to Canal Park.

Great location, with the beach behind the house. Nice neighborhood. Close to downtown Duluth. Enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying on the Point and being able to enjoy the beach daily! The short walk to Canal Park also made this a total winner. We loved this quirky place and would definitely rent again!

We had a phenomenal stay!

you cannot beat the location of this property, close to beach and shops/restaurants. It is much smaller than expected from the pictures and descriptions (I.e. 2nd for living room is a small open space, there is no elevator, there is no game room, etc. The painted floors are peeling & get all over your feet and in your sheets (yuck) and there was a dangerous broken board on the exit of the patio doors. the guest cottage is really rustic and musty, not great. But the location was fabulous!

This was the perfect location for our weekend getaway. The place was equipped with everything we needed and we had a very comfortable stay.

We loved our stay! Such a lovely house right by the lake and plenty of room. Great for a weekend getaway with friends.

I, my adult children, husband and grandchild rented this house for an extended period in early May. The location of the house was excellent and we did walk to Canal Park and back several times as well as take long walks on the beach. We were fortunate to be able to see the northern lights two of the nights that we stayed there by walking out to the beach after dark. Having the separate cottage for my daughter's new family was convenient, although I agree with other reviews that the cottage is quite rustic with low ceilings and an antique full sized bedframe that is very squeaky. If you plan to have family staying in the cottage, just consider carefully who stays out there, especially if any of the members of your group are tall or children.
One note about all the press regarding Kathy Cargill and Park Point: We did see many vacant lots that were surrounded by fencing as expected, but were surprised that it doesn't yet affect the overall ambience of the neighborhood. She sure has an opportunity to do something good and I for one would love to see her build some things that help the community there and in the greater Duluth area. Park Point is a special place. This historic house is a charming little gem there.

Stayed for my son’s UMD graduation. The location was great! The lake is always beautiful!

We were celebrating a birthday with family and friends and the accommodations totally met our needs and being so close to the lake was fabulous. The host was very resonsive and was very accommodating. We left an Apple watch and he contacted his staff who found it and mailed it out to us! Can't thank them enough for taking the time to do that for us! Wonderful place and you won't be disappointed!

I stayed this weekend with my boyfriend and friends and our 2 dogs and it was the best experience!! We loved the kitchen and the short walk to the beach in the back yard. It was cozy and so accommodating, everything we needed was there for us. We were able to easily cook meals and played some of the board games that were there for us too. Being able to walk to the lift bridge and Canal park was amazing too. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back!

the property is very run down.........the sheets are quite used and faded.........the pillows lumpy and old and stained....the furniture is dirty and old..........I was really surprised at how run down it was. I have stayed at 4 other vrbos in Duluth...........this one was so disappointing. I talked with Mike, the manager of the property. he was kind and cordial .....when we arrived all the dirty sheets and towels were on the beds and we waited for the cleaners to come ....we left the property for about 4 hours to get things done.......Mike as very apologetic about the whole thing but from the get go it was really disappointing.......

The house was exactly as expected. From the pictures it was hard to tell the exact layout and locations of the beds and pull outs, but we had 8 ladies here for the weekend and everyone got their own bed/futon or pull out. Being able to spread out sleeping between the house and cottage was perfect. The dining table was perfect for all 8 of us to eat and play games without feeling crammed. Seating around the fire pit was perfect for 8 and could have fit a few more. 3 bathrooms was perfect for our group size. Plenty of blankets, easy walk to the beach.

Charming old house, wonderful location for the Duluth area. We loved proximity to beach and canal park. House was very clean. Both bathrooms in house are upstairs just a note for people with mobility issues, Property owner quickly responded when we had an issue with it being too hot in house due to previous renter's scheduled settings on smart thermostat. We had a wonderful stay!

Great communication and fun location. We would stay again. The property is old and the back cabin was too rustic for some of our group. Felt like cabin level finishes instead of home level finishes, but that was fine with us... that's how our family cabin was growing up. Basement smell was tough for our family with allergies. Lots of puzzels and games. There is just a path to the beach, but made for a cool morning walk!

Owner was very responsive. We ran out of dishwasher liquid & we received a new bottle within an hour. Great location, backs to beach & within walking distance of Canal Park
4.8
More than enough space for the four of us. Very close to town, and also feels "out of town" on the canal with lovely lake access. Well stocked kitchen (utensils, ect.) and fun game/book wall to peruse and entertain.

Great place! Love it!

Walk on the frozen beach, watching the waves stack the ice in layers on the beach was beautiful.

Very clean, great setup for 2 families, great location! Thanks!

We LOVED this house. It was a like a magical cabin. The location was amazing. My whole family loved it and we wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed Bentleyville and the Aquarium, but mostly quality time with family.
4.8
A family birthday get together with a Bentleyville visit.
4.8
We had a big family get together for my Dad's 75th Birthday party. 5 of us were able to comfortably stay in the main house and 3 stayed in the back house. Many family members visited throughout the weekend. Plenty of street parking for everyone and plenty of room throughout the house for people to spread. The kids appreciated the wide variety of games that were provided.
The short walk through the sand dune to the secluded beach was a big hit with everyone. Amazing view there of Duluth. Would book again in a heartbeat!

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the house. This time we brought our nephews and their S/Os along to enjoy Duluth. They had a wonderful time. The property is well suited for a family gathering. (They slept in the main house, and we went to bed in the cottage to give them alone time.) We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners together while spending the day out and about in Canal Park and beyond. As with our previous stay, our dog enjoyed her visit as well, especially with all the sniffs to be had just over the hill on the shores of Lake Superior. We certainly will be back before too long.

Once again we had a great weekend at this property! It’s perfect for our annual large group gathering in Duluth and love how close it is to Canal Park!! Highly recommend!

We had a really nice stay! The house was clean and had everything we needed! Communication from the owner was responsive and very nice! Would highly recommend staying here!

Fun, cozy, all amenities!, clean, plenty of room,

We loved this place! Met our needs, we spread out between the house and the quaint little cabin. Plenty of towels, comforts of home, well stocked kitchen. Too few coffee filters for our group, and we couldn't get some of the outside lights to work, but that didn't dampen our appreciation for this fabulous space.
4.8
It is a uniquely remodled, redecorated 1905 built home not too far fron m the action at Canal Park. There is also a stand alone cabin behind the house. We used both for our group and it worked great. Main downfall regarding the house (for some) is no bedroom on main floor and both bathrooms upstairs on 2nd floor so its not a good fit for people with mobility issues...although the cabin may work for them with everything on one level.
Otherwise its well appointed with everything you should need. The beach is in back over a large sand dune but there are other access points nearby. There is NO view of the lake from the property in case you are wondering.
4.8
This property has a great location, nice bathrooms and kitchen. Good price. But the house has a very wet basement which gives the main floor a bad wet/musty smell. Second cabin musty. The living room furniture needs replacing—-shabby.
4.8
We enjoyed staying here-the location was great, plenty of space for extended family and pets, and everything we needed was available!
4.8
Nice place to stay near canal park, has 2 houses to use for sleeping, right on shore of Lake Superior.
