La Cazalla stands seemingly-alone in a scenic fertile valley, less than 10 minutes' drive from the historical and fascinating town of Ronda. The main house and surrounding buildings blend naturally into the landscape, having been built around the natural rock. This very private house is surrounded by stunning scenery and is available to rent all year round. Perfect for families and large groups of friends of up to 12 people looking for a holiday in the Andalucia region.
The main house was carefully and stylishly restored 20 years ago to reflect its Andalusian and Moorish history, retaining many ancient artefacts from the original farm buildings. The Casa Principal ('main house') has five spacious and airy bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, and is rented with ‘El Nido’ ('the Nest'): a private one-bedroom suite with its own entrance and courtyard.
Nearby Ronda is the perfect picturesque base from which you can explore the pretty ‘Pueblos Blancos’ ('white villages') and some of the major cities of the Andalucian region, including Córdoba, Granada, Seville and Malaga, and the resort town of Puerto Banus.
La Cazalla is fully equipped with all the comforts you would expect from a luxury villa rental, but more importantly all the extra little things that will make you feel at home. We want our guests to feel like they are staying in a secluded, private retreat where they are completely at home, but with a few of the perks of staying in an hotel – beautiful bed linen and towels, daily maid service and a gardener who takes care of the pool and the grounds.
The main house is elegant, cool and spacious, with many different areas for a large group to spread out and relax. Discover three tastefully-furnished living areas on split levels, a kitchen and a dining room, providing plenty of space for your family and friends to read, play card games, watch a film or listen to music. Sleep soundly in the six double or twin bedrooms with en suite bathrooms containing beautiful mosaic tiled walk-in showers with adjustable mood lighting. And yes, there is WiFi!
Outside there are so many different spots to choose from, you’ll be hard-pressed deciding what to do: read in the lounge chairs on the terrace, dine under the vine-covered pergola, swim and snooze at our Roman-inspired pool, look for tadpoles in the stream, stroll along to the 12th century ‘alberca’ ('water cistern'), or take a drink up to the old threshing circle and watch the sun change the colours of the gorge from orange to pink. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the deer as the owls start hooting.
The area around La Cazalla has barely changed since the Romans, and later the Moors, inhabited it. Once here a feeling of peace prevails: the sounds of insects buzzing, birds singing, bells jangling on goats in the forest and the breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. It is difficult to spot any other sign of human life, and yet the sense that man has lived in this valley for thousands of years is very strong.
Famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín through its centre, Ronda and the area surrounding it offer a multitude of outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, mountain climbing, canoeing, birding, horse riding, paragliding, tennis and, on the coast, golf.
Holy Week/Easter ('Semana Santa') transforms Ronda with elaborate decorations, parades and music. May is a beautiful month with the spring wildflowers at their best and the 'Ronda Romantica' (a historical recreation of the Royal May Fair, founded in 1509). Early summer (May/June) is the best for outdoor activities, such as hiking and cycling the many routes of the Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves. July and August are for exploring the narrow, shady lanes of the 'White Villages', lazing by the pool and enjoying relaxed meals outside late in to the evening. Late August and early September bring the drama of the annual flamenco festival and the 'Feria de Pedro Romero', the famous bullfighter, when the whole town join in the fiesta.
Whatever the needs of your party, please let us know, and we will do our utmost to ensure a memorable stay.

La Cazalla de Ronda is a wonderful property in a gorgeous location.
All the rooms in the house are uniquely and thoughtfully decorated and the exterior landscaping is simply breathtaking. Our family of 9 adults thoroughly enjoyed the spotlessly clean interior, luxurious amenities, friendly hosts, saltwater pool, multiple living rooms and patio areas, easy access to hiking trails and the silence, except for birdsong.
Communication with the hosts was always responsive and pleasurable. I am torn giving La Cazalla such a good review -- they deserve it, but I don't want anyone else to find this gem hidden in the Andalucian hills.

La Cazalla was such a special place to spend Christmas with our family of 7. Plenty of space, personal touches and amenities, well stocked kitchen, and gorgeous scenery. Lisa and Mark were so accommodating, readily available and great resources for making reservations at restaurants and activities. Highlights included an awesome 7 course chef cooked meal on Christmas, a private wine tasting tour, and hiking suggestions. Thanks for an amazing holiday!

This was an amazing rental for our 12-person family trip to Ronda. There are several great communal areas and each room has an en suite bathroom, which allowed a great balance of privacy and hanging out. While Ronda itself is great, we found we often wanted to just hang out at this incredible property. Lisa was incredibly helpful throughout the process - from booking us transportation to recommending restaurants and tour guides to helping organize a private chef. It's the perfect house to host a large family/friends get together at any time of the year

Magical Hideaway
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Cazalla! The Villa is comfortable and beautifully appointed and the grounds are spectacular with lots of flowering plants, bushes and fruit trees. Lisa and Mark couldn’t have been better hosts. We hope to be back someday soon!

Summer and the Feria at Magical La Cazzalla
The villa is stunning! Everyone should experience a place as magical as La Cazzalla at least once. There are so many hidden treasures to discover and the villa tempts you to sit back and enjoy nature, life, and the beauty of Ronda. Lisa and Mark set the standard for hosts, going above and beyond to provide guests an incredible vacation experience. They not only provided us outstanding meals, but helped with a medical situation, went out of their way to pick up some paella pans for future Spanish cooks, and had answers to all our questions on Ronda, Spain, and life in the Andalucian country. The only regret is not spending all seven days of our stay at the villa. While day trips to Granada, Seville and other white hill towns are fun...nothing beats a day experiencing the tranquility and beauty of La Cazalla. I look forward to returning and sharing the magic with family.

Little bit of heaven
Our stay at La Cazalla was delightful. It is one of the most beautiful properties I’ve seen and definitely the most enjoyable property I’ve rented. Lisa and Mark do whatever they can to accommodate you and make your stay lovely. We were a group of ten and had lots of space for group time or alone time. I recommend hiring Lisa and Mark to make a paella dinner on the terrace. Also enjoyed meals on the terrace by other chefs. I would love to stay at La Cazalla again. It was truly a little bit of heaven. Thank you Mark and Lisa!

Amazing experience! Relaxed and family friendly environment! We all enjoyed our stay!
Lisa and Mark were extremely helpful before, during and after our stay. The villa is perfectly located, at a peaceful countryside, yet convenience to the nearest town. The villa is beautifully designed and decorated and we all had some lovely family time. The kitchen is well equipped and had some nice BBQ too! We would definitely love to revisit the place again! By the way, Mark’s cooking skill was great, we all enjoyed the delicious paella :-)

A magical time at La Cazalla, Ronda
There aren’t enough words to capture adequately what an amazing vacation this was. I was celebrating my 60th birthday with 7 of the most important women in my life. Being in Spain was a marvelous experience from start to finish. La Cazalla, our villa rental is stunning, every exquisite detail inside the house a delight to the senses and a reflection of our terrific hosts Mark and Lisa Ruddock. The grounds are breathtaking, with marvelous vistas everywhere you turn. Being at La Cazalla filled every member of our party with a deep tranquility that our regular lives back home too often deny us.
It was Lisa and Mark though that helped make this holiday the wonderful one it was! They infused our time there with kindness, generosity of spirit, excellence, and professionalism, bringing every part of our planned itinerary to glorious life. My birthday dinner party and an Afternoon Tea party a few days later were so beautifully executed that I was moved to tears. Lisa completely captured the magical experience I was trying to deliver for my daughter, sisters, sister-in-law, and cousins. La Cazalla, the property provided the rest, with a unique ambience all it’s own.
All of our planned excursions to Seville, Ronda, Marbella and Tangiers went off without a hitch thanks to Lisa’s helpful guidance and transportation arrangements. We all agreed that Mark, a skilled chef in his own right, made the best Paella we’ve ever eaten! Our stay at La Cazalla ranks as one of our most memorable vacations ever and we hope to be back again sometime soon.

Outstanding property in fabulous location
We had a fantastic holiday at La Cazalla and I cannot thank the owners Lisa and Mark enough for all the care and obvious attention to detail they took to ensure the property not only met our needs, but exceeded our expectations. We were a large, noisy group of ten adults, with ages ranging from twenties to early sixties, with a seventeen month old toddler too. I have booked numerous properties over the years and this is by far the best I have ever been to. The space, layout and range of facilities ensured that everyone could find a quiet area when they wanted it, but enough communal space to eat indoors, outdoors, up by the pool, or to wander off in the extensive grounds. The scenery surrounding the villa is spectacular, with numerous easy footpaths to follow. Lisa and Mark live nearby, which was a real bonus. they were around when we wanted advice, or even to borrow a recipe book. They are extremely friendly and helpful and having Christina there every day to clean was a real bonus, so too was the lovely gardener who provided fresh produce for us to try. The swimming pool area was amazing and far enough away that our little one couldn't wander there on her own. It is a beautiful pool to swim in and having a fridge in the pool house meant cool beers were always to hand. I would love to visit La Cazalle again soon. although it is a bit of a drive from the airport, it is well worth the journey. Many thanks the Regester family.

When we arrived at La Cazalla our breath was taken away by the beauty of the location, and the villa was a match for its surroundings. Lisa and Mark, the owners, went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were there for a week, and many of us barely left the villa for the whole time -- it was that enjoyable! The pool was particularly appreciated for cooling off as the weather was very hot during our stay. Wed definitely recommend this villa to anyone.

la Cazolla stunning home away from home
The home is beautiful and perfect for larger groups of friends. There are en suite bathrooms in each room. Beds are very comfortable . The downstairs area has two sitting areas and one has a magnificent Fireplace. the kitchen will gladden any chef’s heart.
Set between rocky outcrops with footpaths meandering through flower covered fields one cannot but have one’s breath taken away.
What a gorgeous swimming pool with a view.
Lisa and Mark, the owners, were perfect hosts and very helpful in arranging any activity available.
Do not be put off by the bumpy road. There’s a wonderful reward awaiting you at the end.
Highly recommended !!

Beautiful villa in stunning countryside - SUPERB
One of the best villa stays I have ever experienced. La Cazalla is a dream - a gorgeous house full of lovely bedrooms, stylish sitting areas and outside eating spots surrounded by unspoilt countryside, oak forests, rivers and mountains. With 16 acres of nature to enjoy, fruit laden trees, stunning views and occasional sightings of deer and wild Andulasian horse, it is the perfect spot to sit and relax, to chill or to sunbathe and swim. In fact, the villa is so great and so welcoming, you don't want to leave - even though the delights of Ronda are just ten minutes drive away.
Highly recommended for groups of up to 12 people, the house is big enough and spaced out for people to relax without being bothered - as well as intimate enough to enjoy each other's company for dinner and drinks on the terrace.
I will definitely be coming back soon. I miss it already!

Beautiful house and gardens with a lovely pool
Fantastic large house, beautiful inside and out, spectacular terraces for eating and sitting, and all this with wonderful views. Lovely pool and sitting area with plenty of shade, and 'pool room' with cold water & fridge, and nearby bathroom with shower. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen for home cooking for large numbers. Owners extremely helpful before arrival and while we were there. Housekeeper and gardener came every day and were excellent. Lovely area, plenty of local walks with great bird and wildlife. A wonderful mix of luxury and rural, with the added benefit of horses and a cat to pet! This is definitely the best villa we've stayed in, would highly recommend, it's even nicer than the photos if possible!

Wonderful Villa & Great Location
What a wonderful villa and great location. Thank you Lisa for being so accomodating and helpful with all the arrangements and thank you Christina (the houskeeper who came in daily) for all your help and for doing the pre shop for us (as we arrived on a Sunday)
We stayed for 7 nights at La Cazalla between 10th and 17th July. Our party of 8 adults and 3 children absolutley loved the place. it definatley lived up to the decription and provided the ideal combination of genuine seclusion as well as being in easy distance to the town.
The villa is incredibly spacious with lots of areas to sit and lounge around and was also lovely and cool during the day even with the scortching temperatures outside. The pool area is great and whilst the pool was "refreshing" at the start of the week it did noticably warm up during the week and was put to good use even by our 3 year old.
The kitchen set up is great for the keen cook (which I am) and we spend most evenings enjoying dinner on the patio late into the evening. As we were there to celebrate a birthday, we also took Lisa up on her recommendation to get a private chef in, which turned out to be an inspired option and a fabulous meal. Lisa also recommended visiting Casa Maria (a tapas restuarant not far from the villa) where we had a great meal and great evening, I would encourage anyone staying at La Cazalla (or anywhere in Ronda) to dine here at least once.
Ronda is also a great town with real character and has all the amenities that you could want or need. It is also and easy drive down to the coast and even Gibralta (which a few of our party did). I would also recommend anyone staying here to do the Caminito Del Rey walk which is about an hours drive away.
Thanks again Lisa, Mark and Christina for helping us have a vacation that we will always remember and I would recommend this villa and location.

Exceptional property in a truly idyllic location
My parents were celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary and I was tasked to find somewhere for the famliy to celebrate with a week's break.
We wanted somewhere special (check!) which could accommodate 6 couples (perfect, check!) in and where we would be alone as a family rather than sharing with other guests (check!).
As soon as we visited La Cazalla - we stopped looking. It was perfect and we were excited to drop the surprise on the rest of the family. When the dates finally came around I cannot decribe the looks on their faces as they discovered the place - every day we were there my parents hugged me and asked me over and over how did I find such a place.
The accommodation is superb - so welcoming and comfortable with several seating areas both indoors and out - and the pool area is simply delightful with the sun loungers and shades, the lavendar and the stunning countryside.
From the house you can see only wooded hillsides and spectacular scenery. In the evening you hear the distant bells on the goats as they are brough in for the night - it is like being transported back in time - but with fabulous modern comforts.
The owners had thought of everytihng to make our stay enjoyable - with small details throghout the house and a wonderful welcome pack of local produce in the kitchen.
We had planned a couple of day trips to Jerez and Azahara de la Sierra - these were unanimously and unceremoniously cancelled as no-one wanted to leave the house.
We enjoyed the most wonderful week, eating and drinking in the beautiful shaded areas and around the pool by day and on the larger dining terrace in the evenings.
The housekeeper, Cristina, came in every day for a couple of hours and took great care of us.
And, as if this was not enough, on our final day as we drove out of the gates to leave our spirits were given a final boost as five large deer ran across the driveway in front of our car and onwards up the mountainside.
All in all the week could not have been better. I can wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend La Cazalla to anyone looking to experience the real flavour and history of Andalucia. It is located close to Ronda and within striking distance of other historical cities from Seville to Granada - but be warned - the charm of La Cazalla will hold you close to home!

Beautiful, fascinating wonderful property!
La Cazalla turned out to be a beautiful and delightful property. It is on a rural road near Ronda. The house was very comfortable with a well-appointed kitchen and many delightful indoor and outdoor seating areas (with lots of books) as well as 5 large, attractive and comfortable bedrooms. The showers in particular were a treat. We were a group of 8 adult friends with a history of renting villas in Europe. We all agree that this was by far the best of our 5 shared rentals. The grounds are beautifully landscaped including a lot of lavender! The swimming pool was a simple and stunning design with water just the right temperature. The housekeeper was very nice and helpful. Although our hosts were not present, they left many indications of their generosity and good will -- nuts, jams, wine.
The area is rich in history, architecture, countryside, hiking.
We are hoping that we might be able to return another year to this very house.

This is the best house we have ever booked!
From the moment of our arrival, we were taken aback by the beauty of the setting and the quality of the house. It was perfectly laid out with the bedrooms on one floor opening onto a central living space and the main living area, kitchen and dining room on the lower level. The housekeeper Cristina made the stay even more special by attending to our every need. The house was abundantly equipped with everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed the landscaping, the sheep and goats grazing outside the gate, the many birds and flowers and the peaceful ambiance. We will be spreading the word to all of our friends about this well-kept secret!

Delightful house and location
I have stayed at la Cazalla both as a hotel and rented property and was delighted to find that the new owners(Lisa and Mark) have kept the properties charm and are hoping to make further improvements. We have one had 2 extended family holidays here and will definitely be returning.
Check out Zahara and Jemiera de libra (Quercos restaurant by the railway station) and there is also a lovely walk if you turn right out of the property and do not miss the view of Rhonda from the end of the track where it meets the main road(the opposite road to the one to la Cazalla)

Delightful, a beautiful secluded magical location
Our stay at La Cazalla was an absolute delight. From the moment our party entered the front door we all felt very much at home. The location was exceptionally quiet and private, but close enough to Ronda that you could easily pop to the town, supermarkets or venture out on trips to the beaches. Our stay was restful and relaxed. The amenities were great. Very comfortable beds, great linen. All with ensuite showers. We will watch this space with interest and look forward to another visit in the future as we understand Lisa and Mark intend to further improve what is really a magical find. Thanks Lisa and Mark for being on hand whenever needed. kind regards The Jaffe family.

Magnificent
La Cazalla de Ronda is really breathtaking. Although it is in the middle of a desolate natural protected area, it is very close to Ronda central area. The house itself is very comfortable, clean and tidy with elegant decoration. The Andalusian style, colored furnitures, walls, bathrooms and many other things suitable for the surrounding gives you a real content. We stayed there for one week, we were 10 people from different ages. Every member of us fully enjoyed La Cazalla, the beautiful garden, pool, terraces and the surrounding. You can explore little details later on like the lemon tree at the entrance of the kitchen , the marvelous books scattered around, colorful paintings on the walls, fireplace and the old piano… Lisa and Mark made our vacation an unforgettable memory, they were so helpful and kind. We strongly recommend La Cazalla de Ronda to the ones who are looking for a holiday at the heart of Andalusia, feeling Andalusian spirit, natural beauty, silence colors, odors and tranquility.

Great for a Large Group
We stayed at La Cazalla de Ronda for a week at the end of May/beginning of June. We were a group of 3 families with 6 adults and 8 children. With six bedrooms, a very large living area, a large kitchen/dining area and plenty of space and seating in the outdoor terrace area, the villa easily accomodated our large group. The pool area has 6 canopies, each with 2 lounge chairs, which made our daily afternoon visits to the pool comfortable and fun--the kids really enjoyed cooling off in the pool each day especially after running around the grounds. The mountain valley where the villa is situated has a dramatic landscape and spectacular views are everywhere. Just down the street from the villa is a great hiking path through the valley (which really is more like a small canyon), which we really enjoyed. The owner has a very friendly dog, Perriki, who joined us on all of our hikes and ran with me when I went for a run.
The town of Ronda, which is just a few minutes drive, is stunning in terms of the setting (perched on steep cliffs with a canyon cutting through the town) and really interesting architecturally and historically. There is plenty to do there and plenty of nice restaurants as well--we made several visits during our stay.
Lastly but certainly not least, the owner, Maria, is a lovely lady who was very welcoming and very kind to us. My wife had a medical emergency on our last day and thankfully Maria was there to help--she went with my wife to the emergency room, helped arrange everything at the hospital and stayed until the treatment was finished. We have 3 small children so her help was invaluable and very comforting in a difficult situation. I don't know how we would have managed without her help. After we returned home, Maria called and followed up to check how my wife was doing and to make sure that everything was ok. Super nice.
We would love to go back to Maria's property and to Ronda and we certainly recommend staying there!

Originally built as a small hotel, there is a huge amount of space in which to relax and unwind even for a large group ( we are a family of six). The bedrooms are large, spacious and airy, each with its own en suite shower and toilet. Downstairs there is a huge living space with plenty of comfortable seating as well as a small library. There is a very large outdoor patio with a canopy of vines, lots of seating and several large tables for dining. There is also an indoor dining room and a large very well equipped kitchen and larder with industrial sized cooker, freezer, 2 fridges, washing machine, dishwasher etc. Outside there is a large amount of garden with areas of woodland and orchard all surprisingly lush due to its secluded and stunning valley location. The swimming pool area is charming with awninged shades for loungers flanking the pool and rows of lavender bushes. The pool itself is narrow but quite long and a good size. The house is very clean and well presented, the gardens and pool all well maintained. Maria who owns the property and Rodrigo her son are extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. The road to the property is quite rough but is due for renovation in the near future. Many thanks to Maria and Rodrigo for a wonderful stay!
