The rooms are spacious and clean. I have grown up knowing Caves House as an iconic part of the South-West history so it was lovely to stay there and enjoy the historic building.
When we 'checked-in' the lady at reception was quite rude and was not friendly or helpful at all. The beds were a bit hard and not the most comfortable. Also, upon arriving at the apartment it did smell stuffy, like it had been closed up for weeks.

Walls are very thin

Great location relaxing lounge with nightly live music supporting local musicians. Lovely gardens. Pub food. Great bakery next door.

Location and food and bar facilities were excellent
Spa room did not have any seating

We liked the retro feel which gave the hotel romance and character.
We are an older couple and found it hard climbing in to the spa bath in order to use the shower - it was slippery and we felt unsafe.

The location. Away from the hussle and bussle. Great walks and scenery. The accommodation is amazing. Easy drive to all the south west attractions. This was our 4th stay at Cave's House and we will be back!
Nothing.

Beautiful heritage hotel with so much history set in lovely grounds
our room needed an extra power point - one power point for jug, heater and charging point and it was in the bathroom

a unique and quirky stay!!
the restaurant was closed for dinner so we had to drive back to town for dinner

Breakfast was amazing. So many options to choose from.
Probably didn’t enjoy the noise (sounded like a group were “drumming” on the Saturday eve). To be fair tho, it didn’t go on into the later hours.

Great Location and Ambience in this historic Hotel. Good breakfast. Friendly Staff who tried their best to make up for "false advertising" on Booking.com, so we got a "free upgrade" to a spa-room with a view of the lovely botanical gardens - thanks!
Heritage Room was advertised with "Landmark views", but had no views at all and there was a lot of noise, so we had a restless night the one night we had to stay in this room. Manager had no presence at the Hotel and no come-back within a week of complaining and being promised a follow-up. Would not stay in Heritage Room again.

The breakfast was well laid out but cold. The only downside to it stay

We visit each year and each year we have an amazing time. The staff are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, the food in the restaurant is exceptional and the apartment was clean, quiet and welcoming. Can not recommend highly enough.

We liked the history and decor of the hotel. Had period furniture and was like stepping back in time. Many pictures of famous people who had stayed there (like Bob and Hazel Hawk for their honeymoon). Breakfast was average, but ok. The toaster was a challenge tho, you will spend more time trying to get toast just right then actually eating breakfast. The eggs Benedict was spot on.
The beds were very low to ground and difficult for older people to get out of. The mattress was to hard as well. The room we were in was small, no chairs to sit on. Not air-conditioned, just overhead fan. The bathroom didn't have a mirror over the sink, so you will need to step to the side where a wall mirror is to shave, then back to sink to wash your shaver as you shave. The brochure that shows the rooms is obviously air brushed and photo shopped? Rooms are nothing like what is shown in brochure (at least ours wasn't, room 9).
The food prices were very expensive. The price of the burger and chips was between $30 and $40 and that is in a takeaway box. Stairs, stairs, beware, you will need to carry suitcases up 2 flights of stairs to your rooms.

breakfast was ok, cooked but buffet style, coffee average
great setting, gardens are very good and pub on doorstep is great, not to noisy
4.5
A lovely location and good surroundings of nature and beaches. Dinner at the restaurant was always delicious.
Short trip to many amazing beaches, Wineries, Caves and scenery.
Not the hotels fault at all, but it is so hectic around summer holidays. Next time i visit ill aim for outside school holidays to enjoy true tranquility.
3.0
Location, one of few accommodation options near to the beach. Also a short drive to Dunsborough which was handy
During peak season the rooms were quite clearly hugely overpriced. The service, quality and cleanliness did not live up to the price tag. Also, the Wifi didn’t work at all which is completely unacceptable in this day and age.
We wouldn’t recommend this place

loved everything
