The Tempest Arms is well located and a perfect base for touring the region. It's quiet and well designed. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a pleasant view across the stream to fields beyond. The room was very clean and attractive.
The dinner was variable. Some of it was tasty and well presented while other items were ordinary in presentation and taste.
Breakfast: no fresh fruit and poor quality coffee despite there being a coffee machine which we were told wasn't available at breakfast.

The location
Since it was taken over by Robinsons it have lost it charm and quirkiness. It is now like most other inns

The staff were extremely welcoming, the extra touches of fresh baked items on arrival were fabulous & the room was to an excellent standard & immaculate.
If I was to pick anything I’d just suggest having fresh fruit available on the help yourself breakfast table.

Our room was very comfortable, generously sized and clean. Although seemingly in the middle of nowhere, the location is convenient to the sights. The staff were absolutely wonderful.
Nothing to dislike at all. A few more hooks in the bathroom would be helpful for those of us who prefer to reuse our towels.

Spacious room, friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere in bar and dining room
The room was very cold and took a long time to warm up after heating was put on. Also some shards of glass were found on the floor, obviously broken previously but not swept up properly.

The Tempest is simply stunning. Newly refurbished to such a high standard that leaves for perfection through and through. We stayed in Beckside 1, simply stunning with a beautiful stand alone bath. Breakfast was perfect, lots to chose from and cooked to perfection. Didn’t want to leave and will certainly return.
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Lovely comfortable and well appointed rooms (newly refurbished), good pub, food and drinks and friendly staff. Nice little touches such as free cake at checkin and fresh milk for room.
Food was good but service at breakfast could be quicker. There is some road noise heard from the bedrooms so light sleepers might struggle.

Breakfast finished at 9am, but staff helpfully provided us with some toast and coffee.
