The chalet is part of an exclusive development of 33 detached chalets tucked away in a quiet corner of Oz en Oisans, part of Alpe d'Huez ski resort, at 1350 metres. There is an entrance hall on the first floor with ski and boot rack and plenty of hooks to hang your coats. This leads to a large open plan room with fireplace. Two patio doors lead onto a balcony which we have extended to run around two sides of the chalet and offers a great space to sit, with wonderful uninterrupted mountain views. At the other end of the room is a large dining table seating 10. Round the corner there is a kitchen from which double patio doors provide another access to the extended balcony which has outdoor seating and a table which seats six comfortably and offers more wonderful views. On the ground floor are three bedrooms and from the lounge, steps lead to a fourth mezzanine bedroom, with restricted height at one end. The vacation rental is very well situated for skiiing: about 25 meters from the Pré du Clos lift, which gives access to the Alpe d'Huez ski area. The house was clean, well maintained and accessible via a staircase. Room for skis and shoes is available. Easy contact with the landlord, also available for questions! Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a place to recharge, to relax, enjoy breathtaking views look no further. Chalet Clementine has it all. The house itself has all the facilities you could ask for on holiday. It has a wrap-around balcony from which you have stunning views on the forests and mountains. The village has a couple of great restaurants and a small supermarket. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the people are very friendly. The surroundings offer numerous possibilities to relax or to be active if you like: watersports on the lake below, cycling (alpe d’huez is very near or any of the other famous tour de france cols), hiking. Or you can just sit in the sun and enjoy the peace and quiet. The owner is utterly helpful and welcoming and is there if you need anything. Many thanks Gary for a great holiday.

Magic skiing, sledging & huskies in Oz!
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Chalet Clementine (in Oz-en-Oisans, a small, family-friendly resort with easy access to the large Alpe D'Huez domaine): it was all perfect; from the mountain views, the wood-burning stove, the boot racks/cupboard, plenty of hot water and easy access to the slopes, lifts and local amenities. We even managed a sled ride pulled by eight huskies in Bergers!
To top it all, Gary and Jan (the owners, who live nearby) are exceptionally warm and generous hosts. They answered all of our questions in the months leading up to our trip and were on hand throughout the week with help and advice.

Lovely cosy chalet
Fantastic holiday. Chalet is very comfortable and well equipped (kettle, tea pot, propper cups, olive oil, salt/pepper and cleaning products). Kids loved the upstairs bedroom. The Poma tow is very close to the chalet for skiing in/out.
Gary made us very welcome and was the perfect host, always very good to have inside information on where to eat and ski! The welcome basket was a generous addition and so was the wine!
Huge thanks for a great week - hope to be back soon.

Great views in a great location
This is our second visit to Oz en Oisans and our second visit to this set of chalets, our previous stay had a chalet lower down the slope and nearer the trees on the left so the views weren't great and there was no evening sun. Chalet Clementine however offered the perfect position for us as it looked out over the trees giving a wonderful view of the mountains opposite and if you are so inclined you could get the sun all day in this spot until it sets behind the mountain opposite, great if you like to chill in the evening with a glass of wine.
Access to the chalet was good as the steps to the road are right next to the chalet, unloading and loading the car means parking above the chalet and navigating the steps which are steep but there is a longer less steep path that is easily accessible for larger bags.
The chalet itself was modern, clean, well maintained and with everything we needed for our two week stay in this great little village, it even had a TV so we could watch the Tour de France after we had been cycling ourselves. If you are cycling in the area the climb to the village is testing, especially if you've already done it half a dozen times, so you might want to park down at Lac du Verney to avoid it if doing some of the longer steep routes in the area. On that point this is the ideal location for exploring the famous local climbs such as Alpe D'Huez, Col D'Ornon, the Col du Glandon and the Col de la Croix de Fer, you really are spoilt for choice around this location.
I have no hesitation in recommending this location and chalet, the icing on the cake for us was the warm welcome from the owner who met us when we arrived and was most helpful with advice for the village and area, even offering to help us with our bags.

Perfect chalet in beautiful ski village
Just got back from a wonderful and memorable week’s skiing, staying in Oz in the idyllic Chalet Clementine. Gary and Jan we’re so generous with their time and hospitality upon arrival. They couldn’t do enough to help. The chalet was perfect! Clean, spacious, comfortable, lovely and warm, picturesque and next to the slopes! Had a fantastic week and could not recommend highly enough!

Beautiful chalet in Oz en Oisans
Where do I start?....We stayed in Chalet Clementine over the New Year and had the most fantastic time.
From our initial booking Gary & Jan have been so helpful and always provided fully comprehensive answers to my endless questions. No question ever seemed too much trouble to answer. Gary gave advice on ski passes, transfers, ski hire...you name it, he helped us out with it. We booked everything through his recommendations, and it all worked out perfectly.
Gary met us on arrival and showed us around the chalet, telling us how various things worked etc. He then took us all up into the village and showed us where the supermarket was, various restaurants, the tourist info and ski hire etc.
We were 2 families of 4, and found the chalet was great for us. It is so beautifully presented and has such lovely homely touches. It feels so warm & cosy too; especially with the fabulous log fire roaring away. (Logs were provided free by the owners) The cupboards in the kitchen are really well stocked and have every type of pot/pan/dish/kitchen appliance you could possibly need. We cooked ourselves and ate in nearly every night, and sat round the huge dining table to eat our meals.
There were board games, a great selection of DVD's and books, TV with English channels, if we needed them. To be fair though after a tiring day of skiing and hearty meal, we were in bed for 9 exhausted! Whilst on the subject of beds;,all 4 bedrooms were lovely. Really comfy beds. They all had 2 single beds, a wardrobe and bedside cabinets.
There was a large cupboard in the entrance hall which we found handy for ski boots and ski's, and plenty of coat hanging.
The location of the chalet is just fantastic, the view from the chalet has uninterrupted views of mountains. Waking up and looking out to that scenery was breathtaking.
We found Oz was a perfect base for us, a quieter village away from the larger resort of Alpe D'huez, yet a 15 minute gondola ride and you could access the huge ski areas of Alpe D'Huez. Oz and Vaujaney.
For us, the Alpe D'Huez ski area was the best resort we have ever skied in. It literally catered for everyone. I was happy skiing all day on the lovely wide gentle green and blue slopes, whilst my boys were off on the red and black runs.Snowfall was incredible.
I can highly recommend this chalet, it really was just a perfect holiday in a beautiful area and without doubt we will be back. Thank you so much Gary & Jan for letting us stay in your amazing home.

Perfect in every way
This has been our 2nd visit to Oz and the 1st to Chalet Clementine. We are a group of mixed cyclists who have a bucket list of Cols to explore and demand a high standard in accommodation in our advancing years. Chalet Clementine and the resort of Oz are highly recommended for those wanting a quiet relaxing summer holiday in a beautiful tranquil setting with truly stunning views. Chalet Clementine is as described. Comfortable, clean and very well equipped with everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. Particular attention to small details make this chalet stand out above others we have used. The hosts, Gary and Jan, were proactive and very responsive to answering questions before our arrival, they were on site to welcome us, help us with a few questions during our stay and bid us farewell at departure. They helped make our stay that much more enjoyable.
We would recommend this chalet to anybody wanting a bit of comfort at the end of an active day.

Good house in area with beautifull nature
We had a nice stay in OZ. Beautifull view from the house. Good possibilities for walking direct from the house. For example with the many cable routes. We had also enough other things to do in villages nearby. It takes 10 minutes with the car to go down the mountain, but then its possible to choose several directions to explore. It was a place of rest. In the morning we walked to the bakery to buy bread. In the evening we went swimming for free in the hotel in OZ. Little remark, you have to take four stairs to the house each time, but you get used to it :)

Heaven on earth
My family and I stayed at chalet Clementine for 12 days of summer holidays.
Gary welcomed us really nice and gave us a great introduction into the chalet. He has explained to us the individual functions. He was always available when we needed him. The chalet has everything you need. In the area there are many leisure activities.
From the first moment we were speechless of the view and the nature. It was amazing. A great region with great people and a great host.
We will come back. That's for sure. Thanks for all Gary.

Just lovely!
Everything you see and read about this gorgeous chalet is what you get then...a lot more than you expected. It was clean and very comfortable. We were really delighted to see it 'for real' on arrival and found absolutely everything we needed.
The description was accurate about the location, layout and facilities. We were very lucky to have had a beautiful week of sunshine and spent every afternoon outside on the veranda. The chalet was clean and very well maintained. The owners, Gary and Jan, met us from our transfer from Grenoble, they showed us around the chalet and made sure we knew where to buy our provisions and where best to eat out.
I would recommend this chalet to anyone that I know and hope if you are reading this you will trust that it is value for money.

A perfect place to spend a family holiday.
We spent a week at the chalet, our first family ski holiday with our grandchildren. The chalet was lovely and comfortable a home from home. It had everything we needed, even a welcome pack to get us started on our first day which was very much appreciated. The views were amazing, it was quiet and peaceful. Gary and Jan were very friendly and could not do enough for us. I cannot wait to go back again.

Beautiful, homely and cosy chalet!
Stayed for one week in March 2017.
Fantastic, spacious apartment located conveniently just a short flight of stairs from a button lift which you can then ski down from, to the lift Poutran, up the mountain.
The apartment was very clean and spacious with great amenities. We were a party of 6 and benefited from the large open plan, kitchen, dining and living area. There is a large fire and the owners had left us plenty of fire wood so that we could easily light it after skiing each day. Kitchen pantry cupboards were well stocked with spices and other essentials which meant we could easily cook large meals each evening.
It is clear that the owners have spent time creating a cosy, homely environment for their guests. Little details like fur rugs to snuggle under, a chess board and a great selection of board games and DVD's offered plenty of options for us to relax each evening.
The chalet is also perfectly situated between the trees offering fantastic views down into the valley and the neighboring mountains. There is a wrap around balcony with benches and chairs so we could enjoy a beer and watch the sunset each evening.
Final thing to mention is that the beds are super comfy, it was difficult to get up each morning!
Would thoroughly recommend!

Great chalet for family stay
Chalet Clementine was perfect for our family with teens. The chalet was very clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies and everything you could need. The beds and sofas were very comfortable and the chalet was cozy. The owners Gary and Jan were very welcoming and are right in town in case you need anything. The 2 main lifts out of Oz en Oisans take you straight to two major stations in the ski area. Since you are rights in the middle of the area it's easy to get around. The Alpe d'Huez area is wonderful to ski with enough variations for all levels. It's also great that there are 2 blue slopes on the highest peak that are fantastic to ski and then you can take the tram back down if needed. The views are fantastic. Oz en Oisans is not big but offers enough for the week. Ski rentals, ski storage options, groceries, restaurants, great pizzas and a great bakery! Thanks Gary and Jan for giving us a home for the week.

Fantastic views and some lovely touches!
Another great week in Oz, the chalet was perfect with some really nice touches that to be quite honest we didn't expect. A real home from home and very comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for. The booking wa effortless and Gary was there from the start to offer any help or assistance you needed. We couldn't have asked for more, it was a pleasure and it would be nice to return again one year.

Best chalet in Alpe d'Huez
This is our third time staying in Chalet Clementine and every year we are guaranteed a warm, welcoming, clean and spacious chalet. The owners, Gary and Jan, are the loveliest couple you'll meet and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
This year we were a party of 9 guests staying and we all fitted in perfectly. The bedrooms are a good size with 2 bathrooms downstairs and a toilet upstairs.
The location of Chalet Clementine is the best in Alpe d'Huez with views overlooking the mountains. This year was rather special as my partner and I got engaged, Gary was an incredible help with making sure everything went smoothly. Gary and Jan both came up to the top of Pic Blanc with us and took photos (thanks again to both of you - great photos!)
I would urge anyone who enjoys skiing or walking to stay here. You'll be well looked after and will be surrounded my amazing scenery.

Another wonderful stay at Chalet Clementine
This was our second stay at Chalet Clementine and once again we had a wonderful time. The owners have made some changes recently adding steps closer to the chalet and an extension to the balcony which gives more room to sit outside. This may be predominately a winter destination but you are missing out on the spectacular summertime appeal of the mountains.
The cycling and walking was exceptional with plenty of local events to go and watch, the Alp d'Huez triathlon and MTB national series were on whilst we were there. We are already looking at returning next summer as we love it so much. We have no hesitation in recommending this chalet.

Lovely chalet with excellent hosts
Just back from Oz-en-Oisans with my family (a party of 3 children under age of 11 & 4 adults)
Chalet is presented in very good, clean order, with all amenities that you could realistically expect. Our hosts made a conscious effort to keep in touch, well before arrival date, with a broad range of facts and info that helped us plan out our holiday in advance. On arrival day, they met us at the resort & Gary even assisted with unloading baggage, giving us a tour of essential places we'd need next day, all at a late hour of the evening. Thanks!
The chalet is rustic, comes with a lovely log burning fire, which we used on most nights. We just love the atmosphere that is created with a log fire, especially when up in the mountains.
Accommodation was ample for a party of our size, with one spare bed. Feedback on the mezzanine level at time of writing this, is that it's only sensible for adults of elder children, due to the steep incline of the stairs. I understand that the owners have plans to modify this feature, which would very much add to the safety aspect & usability of that extra sleeping area.
Kitchen is very good, with space to prepare your evening meal if you decide, like us, to eat in most nights. We also came back for lunch most ski days, & as the weather was pleasant, we sat outside on balcony. Not a huge factor for those who are generally fit & able, but the climb up from the chalet to the road, is one to take into consideration if you have small children. Walking down the metal grated steps in ski boots is a challenge for those not too steady on their feet, although the option of leaving skis/boots in your car close by (30 metres from steps) in the free underground carpark, is there for you. As a group of differing ages & abilities however, this proved a challenge for us. ESF ski school and meeting point for beginners is a bit of a hike away (all uphill), but this should not deter you from renting the chalet as the benefits outweigh this slight inconvenience. For those who are able to take a drag lift, the Clos de Pru poma lift is situated at the top of that small climb, and at very least, will get your heart beat going in the morning and blow away the cobwebs. Chalet Clementine is not quite 'door to door', although close to it though. Would recommend the resort and this chalet. Good access to Alpe D'Huez area and not too far from Grenoble. Thanks Jan and Gary!
