Easily accessible from the motorway with an all-night garage-shop nearby
We turned up at 10.47pm, checked in and asked if we could have a drink and crisps / nuts (as we'd been delayed by illness in our party and not eaten). The staff said yes, but after we'd collected our overnight bags from the car 15 meters away (taking one minute), they announced they had shut the bar, so we couldn't get anything (and we had to go to the all-night garage instead).
In addition, one of our rooms wasn't ready. We had booked a double and a triple. The triple was only made up for two people, so we had to wait 15 minutes while the bedding was gathered and the bed was made up. Only then could we go to the all-night garage (although the all-night garage staff were polite and helpful!)
A day later Marston's Inns sent a link asking for feedback on our stay. I outlined the situations above, but we have head no response.
8.0 / 10.0
We booked Marston's mainly because of the location but also because it's a chain we had never tried before. We didn't have much in the way of expectations as we just needed somewhere to sleep a couple of nights mid journey elsewhere.
It was absolutely fine, no issues at all. Thank you!
Nothing, all was fine.

I stay here often with my son. Close to the motorway and the pub is right next door with a great kids play area

It was located near the industrial park where I had a meeting.
To enter, you need to go through a security door for which the room card did not work. Instead to open it, you have to rotate a knob, then press two numbers together, then there was another pressing procedure, and then you rotate the knob to open. You have to read the instructions, most likely it will not work on first or second attempt, and at night it is annoying. They could have made the security door open able with the card or with a simpler method.
The interior decoration was a bit dark.
