Perfect location, wonderful setting in the middle of nature! Details all around!
Breaksfat could be improved, specially due to the price charged.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel for a very reasonable price. The breakfast we also had at the hotel was delicious as well - definitely recommend the chilaquiles. It’s very close to the port and the nature reserve so it’s a great location too.
The only thing I didn’t like was the coffee. Their French press was oversteeped. It also would’ve been nice to have a fan in the room but it was ok, we just opened the window to let some air in.

Very nice restaurant.
The room was not at all what we expected. Watch out for the labels on booking. They might promise you a mountain view, but you might end up with no view at all like we did. When we talked to the hotel, they said that they do not find the labels confusing and that they cannot help us. So we ended up cancelling our trip after three nights and found a nice hotel with a mountain view.

Breakfast was great (though not included)
The surroundings of the rooms are amazing. It `s a beautiful location and all the greenery is breathtakingly beautiful.
The location is perfect because you can easily walk there from the dock and you´re right next to the nature reserve and the rest of San Marcos
Don´t believe the hype. They run so much ads and make so much fuss about themselves and it is just not justified. It is nice but way overpriced for what it is.
In this price category I would have expected some coffee with our coffee machine.
We had to push forward the stove to get to the plug on the floor in order to plug in the oven.
Toilets are Guatemalan style- no toilet paper allowed (which is fine, you just should be aware of it)
Toileteries in the bathroom was one liquid which smelled great, but was way watered down and multi-purpose
The construction site next door woke us up every day at 6 a.m. at the latest and we weren´t made aware of that beforehand.
They do not offer lunch pakets like promoted on booking.com
Our bedroom was pretty small with no good spot to place your luggage, which you need access to because you can´t put your clothes anywhere else.

Proximity and restaurant were both positives, close to the ferry and within walking distance of San Marcos centro without being in the thick of it. Lush, well kept gardens also made for a picturesque view.
While the accommodation and location is beautiful, there were still notable inconveniences for the hefty price. A heads-up to any potential visitors, upon checking out reception will thoroughly check towels for any marks (big or small) in front of you and demand $20USD without even attempting to wash first and then contact / bill if a replacement is actually required - something that’s not mentioned in the property policies. In our case there was some minor discolouring from washing hands after using tinted moisturiser, which without a doubt would wash out in any normal washing cycle… aside from this, there was some black marks which we were confident was a result of the room itself. Again, the room was quite stunning (built into the rock face) though with this came dust, dirt, ants, spiders and centipedes with notable gaps in the doors, windows and sealant. Last point to call out was in the shared shower there was little to no hot water (luke warm at best), assuming this was also a result of the location / build?

The location is lovely, close to everything and near the lake but tucked in and relatively quiet. It's right next to a nature reserve which is wonderful and the food is great- highly recommend the breakfast
The room was small and basic but fine. There was a party next door late one evening but the staff was able to get the music turned off which was much appreciated. I would stay again for sure.

lovely atmosphere in nature, beautiful details, San Marcos is a nice village
the ceiling of the bathroom was very low, my boyfriend could not stand under the shower

Great views from the Cascada suite rooms and balcony. Wonderful coffee at the checkin desk every morning. The staff was very kind and helpful, kudos to Francisco for picking us up at the Moonfish cafe, and removing spiders from the room.
Great location. Filtered water in the room. Always good hit water pressure in the shower.
The restaurant had a very good vibe, but we didn’t eat there because they had vegan-only options.
Some small imperfections, like the wifi wasn’t always working, the windows didn’t close properly, but nothing significant. One of the rooms had a damp smell, because when it rains the water flows into it, along a big rock that’s inside the room (hence the name Cascada) but we didn’t sleep there. I guess it’s part of the charm.

The location is great - in the midst of the forest, but close to the lake and the main part of San Marcos. The bed was comfrotable
The shared-shower didn't work well and the hot water was intermittent. Right next to my room is the construction of a new hotel that begins at 7:30 AM. Had I known this, I would not have stayed here. A bit over-priced compared to nearby properties

The outdoor terrance was nice, and the common area too. The shower was nicely decorated.
Location is close to the ferry but often hard to find (many back alleys in San Marcos). The bathroom is in a separate room which forces you to step outtside the main room (into the open air). Which is not fun in the middle of the night.

The place is beautiful. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, try the pancakes!!
Nothing that the hotel can control but there was a lot of animal noise (rooster at 4AM, Dogs in the middle of the night, etc).
Also the rooms are a bit minimalistic, maybe hangers for the towels and a hand towel would be nice.
But overall very nice place, would recommend!

I thought the breakfast was great. I thought location of the hotel was great being so close to San Marcos and boat dock. I thought the general manager (Jeanette and staff) did everything they could to make my stay an excellent one.

it's an adorable place built into the side of a mountain. pretty decor amidst the gorgeous plants. the restaurant is delicious with plenty of great selections.
Had to leave my room and walk across hall to bathroom. just felt little awkward.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful peaceful location. I sampled most of the breakfast menu and everything was delicious. Staff were friendly and the place was clean and tidy. Loved all the plants and the way that nature was incorporated within the hotel! Would certainly choose to stay here again if i return to San Marcos in the future and would recommend to others.
No complaints.
