Very helpful staff, we were looked after so well. There was a slight glitch with the room, but we were offered a choice of other rooms. Very beautiful and enchanting place. Outstanding, refined dinner, just beware that the restaurant is closed on some days. Check before you book. Would be a shame to miss out on a very special meal which was an important part of the whole experience of this place.

This is an amazing historic building next to an an incredible ruin.
our meal on the terrace was delicious, the service from Robert was excellent and the view incredible .
unfortunately the plumbing on the top floor left a lot to be desired. the toilet didn’t flush properly. The shower water doesn’t have enough pressure. to shower
The pool was closed .

The picturesque location was fantastic
Sitting on the terrace in the sun
Food in the restaurant was not to the standard I would expect
There was no lift our room was up 2 flights of steep stone stairs and my husband and I have mobility issues, I asked for a ground floor room as the hotel was almost empty but was told it was not possible only when I offered to pay for the upgrade was it possible, to be fair they did not charge the extra but I thought it was appalling that this was not offered straight away
Pool was out of action too
3.8
countryside location and historic ambiance
majority of the staff was very inexperienced and both the service and attention somehow on a random basis
some rather classic French dishes not available in the restaurant which is a bit surprising considering the rather high ambitions

Staff were very welcoming of our dogs and we were given the rooms we asked for on the ground floor.
Room wasn't very clean and toilet cistern was broken. Restaurant was a big disappointment compared to previous years.

Everything!! The manager (Phillip , the owner (Richard) and the staff are in a class way above the norm! The property is elegant and immaculate. The food, outrageously delicious. We’ve already rebooked. Highly recommended!

A lovely property by some stunning ruins. Very peaceful and away from it all. We had a lovely display out of the windows of the swallows! staff were very friendly and helpful.

Loved the location and the venue. Every member of staff was attentive and charming - nothing was too much trouble. We only stayed for one night to break up a long journey and wished we could have stayed much longer!
