Location and decor also cleanliness
No complimentary water or milk for the tea and coffee making facilities. Just basics that were missing.

Accommodations were very nice. Everything was great. Everyone friendly and willing to assist you. We had a wonderful time and was happy with our room. I would definitely consider coming back and recommending this place. Location was perfect!
It didn't have an elevator and I wished they would have mentioned that in the beginning. Regardless we enjoyed our stay.

Centrally located, clean, modern and spacious with a balcony with early morning sun and afternoon shade. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Few minutes walk from bus to the airport.

It was obvious that the room was newly furnished- there were very few signs that somebody had stayed there before us. The cleanliness was very good.
The location was easily the best part- I always believe that for holidays proximity to the city centre is the most important factor in whether a hotel/room is going to be a good experience. Le Dortoir Suites is pretty much in the centre of the city, in the area with the most going on. Arguably the city centre (where Le Dortoir suites are located) is a better place to stay than Old Nice because of its proximity to transport links (rail, tram, bus) from the city centre.
They provided Rituals shower gel and shampoo, which was a nice touch.
Other reviewers have complained about the lack of a lift which I think is unreasonable. The hotel is in a an ex-residential building that's at least 200 years old. What do you expect? I think that's just Americans being Americans. You don't have to be an Olympic athlete to climb the stairs- really, it's no big deal.
I didn't see much of the staff except for checking in- they showed me the room and clarified how to get in/out of the building. Over-all it was all very straight-forward. The bloke we spoke to was nice. Checking in was simple too- you get emailed a code that you use to enter the building, your hallway and then your room. No worrying about having to return a key at check-out or locking yourself out.
The balcony was pretty non-eventful but provided some fresh air. It's a shame that construction works were happening close-by (obviously this is no fault of Le Dortoir, just a fact of life). With the window shut you couldn't hear it. We relied on the air conditioning.
On their website, when you book the room you are shown photographs of more expensive rooms. The Superior double is fine but I think we were expecting a bit more luxuary from Booking.com's photos.
The modern shower (whilst very nice to use) tended to splash a lot of water onto the floor.
Could have provided an iron and ironing board.

Room was lovely, great size, clean and well maintained. Receptionist helped us take our luggage to the third floor which were really grateful for. Apartment in a great location.
No lift but that was OK as we had already been told. You would need to be fit to climb the stairs each day

Room, staff and location were excellent.
My husband travels all the time for work and hotel rooms have become of nightmare for him. His comment was, I love this room, it’s bright beautiful and the bed is really good!
Stairs but that was also part of its charm.

Loved the location and closeness to shopping, Old Towne, restaurants and attractions. We walked everywhere -but you could access train, bus and taxi very easily. The room was very spacious and clean. Very quiet at night - comfortable bed! Water temperature heated up quickly and air conditioning was perfect!
Maybe better signage to recognize the hotel location. Also, a magnifying lighted mirror to help with make-up application. There was overhead lighting but not quite enough.

We stayed on the 5th floor and had a small balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the busy square below, which was perfect to catch the last of the afternoon/evening sun. The room felt modern and the multiple windows let in plenty of natural light. The shower was powerful and clean. The in room facilities consisted of a fridge, Nespresso machine (which is topped up with 2 capsules daily), were a welcome addition.
Be prepared for the 5 flights of stairs (which is clearly advertised ) as there is no lift and the WiFi can sometimes be intermittent.

It was a perfect accomodation for a couple.
The cleaness and the location was perfect.
After a long day of sightseeing the bath was excellent to finish the day.
The living space was nice and also the view from one of the balconies.
Although we knew that there wasn't a lift, the were many stairs to climb.
