Lovely big porch and deck near the one of the many harbors in Booth Bay. Short drive from town. If you want privacy, this is a great place to family or group gatherings.

This was our second stay here. We love the comfort of this home and the location is perfect.

We spent so much time outside on the porch and on the deck by the water! It is really conveniently located to restaurants, activities, and shops. The house was comfortable and felt immediately like home.

The title and description are spot on, this is a vintage home with every amenity we needed for a long weekend exploring Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor. We only needed 3 bedrooms, so did not use the bunk beds tucked into the first floor alcove, and planned to spend most of our time out & about. It was a perfect location for us.

The location was perfect. Very close to town and the Botanical Gardens. The Driveway is a bit dicey to say the least.

Great location close to town with great view of lobster cove.
some of the furniture needs updates the lift chair has a short circuit and gets stuck in up position. the other upholstered chair should be replace or at lest a slip cover quote dirty. Trash is an issue, prior tenants has lobster and barrels were full. a trash bin to hold barrels would be a big plus since animals got into the trash.

We traveled from all over the US to come to Maine. We Were fortunate to have found this beautiful house to stay in.
It was hygge. A Scandinavian word that means cozy and comfortable that gives you a feeling of contentment.
I hope we can return someday.

We knew the home was older when we booked, which was fine, but it was very cluttered with unnecessary and unusable furniture and other “things”.
It was not very clean. There were dust balls everywhere. Although the towels may have been clean they smelled like cigarette smoke and perfume, thankfully there was a washer and dryer and we washed them all.
I think the most disappointing and misleading thing was that the water access is treacherous and not really usable. There is no landing at the bottom of the steps seen in the pictures. The steps are steep and crooked and at the bottom (if the tide is out) are jagged rocks and seaweed. We brought kayaks but only used them twice because it was quite difficult and dangerous to launch from the house. This area was not swim-able. I took my kids to a small park down the road to do that.
It’s sad because this could be an absolutely beautiful house and property

Downtown Boothbay is a perfectly manageable walk, the town swimming hole is even closer, and the house has a stair down to the water, where you can put in a kayak or paddleboard. We were six people (me and wife, in laws, and two teenage kids). We were not cramped, had a great time over three nights. House is not young, but it's in good condition, has a lot of character. No real neighbors to worry about, nice lawn, we saw a family of mink, went kayaking, ate lobster, shopped in boothbay harbor, had a great time.

Just What We Hoped!
We loved this older charmer!
The house gave us the feeling of visiting Aunt Anna or our grandparents place.
The rooms were comfortable for us and roomy enough for all of us to be together or find our own space.
The quiet of early Spring, the nice lawn and the ocean were all what we needed to get together and recoup.
Thank you to the staff at Vacassa and the owners of this property.
We noted there was likely someone of Finnish heritage I am half Finn and it was fun to share stories about Finland with my friends.

Frustrated
When we arrived, I was taken aback. The pictures on line did not portray the true reality of the house. The pictures were taken with a wide angle lens making the rooms appear larger than they were. The dining room table was our favorite place!!! We basically used the house as a place to sleep which it was adequate. We loved Boothbay Harbor and exploring Maine.
I attempted to find out why the fees and expenses regarding the house were NOT given before committing to the property. They were almost as much as what was on the picture as the nightly rate. No where did it say that there would be additional costs. I never received a response to either email.
The house was adequate but not portrayed honestly.

Great well equipped house
We stayed here with our 4 kids and loved it. Tons of space, nice yard with tidal water behind it. The house had everything you could ever need, one of the best equipped houses we’ve rented. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the place. We hope to return.
Wonderful spot, rustic home. Our 1st night we had animals spread the last guests garbage all over the lawn. We also discovered the grill was out if gas. Each time, we contacted the VRBO folks and our concerns were addressed within hours which was nice.

Boothbay stay
Our family is from boothbay, we come several times a year to spend time with cousins. First time staying in this house and I was beyond unimpressed. I understand it’s an old house and that was fine, I actually love historical houses. I was not impressed with the condition of the furnishings. The couch smelled as though someone decayed on it as well as the chairs in the living room. Rugs were smelly. We had mouse droppings in the cupboards and throughout the house, under one of the elderly chairs that lifted was about 3 inches of fur in the ducts of the floor. My 5 year old developed a rash and also a respiratory issue while we stayed there. The fire alarm went off all hours of the night and we changed batteries and checked entire house so we were scared sleep. I wish I could have loved it, it would’ve been our go to house for our family of 5 a few times a year. The view is beautiful and the porch is pleasant that’s about all I can say.

Peaceful Vibe
It’s a comfortable century old home with antique doors and windows . A lot of character. We loved the porch and the dining room best of all. . The porch view is awesome if your on the side or at the picnic table as you can see the cove. Steep ,rickety stairs lead down to this cove, but kids really don’t care. They just need a lot of supervision. It is a peaceful and very functional place .

The house was very clean upon arrival. It smelled as though it had been closed up for a few months, however, opening windows took care of that. It was well stocked with household essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, and soap. The bedrooms were comfortable and had fans to keep you cool at night. The sheets were stiff and not all that comfortable, but they were clean! Plenty off additional blankets found in each room. And plenty of towels for our 4 night stay. The kitchen was well stocked with every kitchen essential needed like dishes and pots/pans, wine glasses, cooking utensils. The fringe kept everything super cold and almost frozen! The house has a great porch with lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy sunrise/sunsets or to watch kids play in the yard. We spent each night in the dining room playing games. It fit 9 people fairly well. The town of Boothbay Harbor was a quick 2 minute ride. Plenty of places to eat, purchase souvenirs, and book boat tours. One review said it was walking distance...it’s not an easy walk at all. Lol. I walked it once. There are several large hills to climb. Definitely not a kid friendly walk. There Is a park with boat launch not too far from the house that was walking distance, but again a significant hill to walk up to return back the the house. The park had a gazebo, wooden rope swing, and picnic tables. Overall it was a nice place to visit for a fort time trip to Maine.

Wonderful Visit
We had a wonderful long Labor Day weekend. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the porch which had a view of the water. We were able to rent a kayak for a few days and go out exploring the area. The property does not have a dock but has stairs down to a small rocky beach where we could store the kayak. The house has three comfortable upstairs bedrooms and one very small room with bunk beds on the first floor.

Long weekend
We very much enjoyed our stay on Lobster Cove Rd. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is so close to town that you can zip in and out. You can even walk if you’re up for a bit of a hike. The house is well stocked with everything you need. It is an older property, but very charming. We enjoyed coffee on the porch every morning. My only complaint is about the water access. It’s down a very steep wooden staircase without a dock or landing at the bottom. But once we were down their even my teenagers enjoyed looking around, especially when the tide was out.

Great location to downtown
Loved the location! Super convenient to downtown and a nice view of the water when sitting by the dock. The house provided all of the amenities we needed and the beds were comfortable as well. The large dining room was great for eating in and also playing board games. It accommodated 4 of us extremely comfortably and I love that this is a pet-friendly place! It’s a very lived-in and older home, so if you’re looking for a modern and up-to-date rental, this is not the place for you. If you don’t mind the rustic charm, then this is a great spot to book!
The only noticeable thing upon arrival was some mold in the downstairs toilet and a moldy interior shower curtain at the bottom, which is something that could have been taken care of by housekeeping prior to our stay. Not the owner’s fault, but just overlooked by housekeeping. Overall fantastic stay with lots of memories made.

Great value for big group
Charming old house with view of water. Equipped with everything we needed and then some. Luckily us rural Hoosiers could still sleep with back door that didn’t lock. Bunk bed room is strictly for sleeping- tiny. We spent majority of time on front “veranda”. Lovely.
