Loved the location of this spacious house with large rooms and cosy Aga. Quiet, peaceful with plenty to do nearby. Interior needs some work, particularly a lower dishwasher tray that actually fits and shelves in the fridge door would be amazing.

This is a lovely house, full of all the charm you could hope for from a Lake District getaway. The rooms were clean, spacious, warm, very comfortable and charming. The views around the house are absolutely breathtaking. The pictures do not do them justice. We took a brilliant walk, straight from the front door of the house to Grizedale Tarn, which we loved. I highly recommend this house.

On the whole the stay was great, the location was beautiful and the house was magnificent but needed quite a bit of tlc and rudimentary maintenance. The location, views, sky at night, surrounding countryside and the size & style of the house more than made up for the pitfalls of maintenance & outdated decor but for a family with two big dogs it worked very well.

40th birthday celebration
Had a fantastic 40th birthday celebration weekend away with friends. House was just super, clean and warm with everything we would want. Stunning views. One little improvement would be more large mugs & some champagne flutes

Bramrigg House
House is in a stunning location with a stream and fabulous views. Pity the same cannot be said about the interior. The house is in desperate need of some TLC , hasn't been decorated for a very long time and for the weekly cost paid, its criminal that nothing is put back into the property. First day spent cleaning inside and also picking up all the dog Poop in the garden areas. Shame as it wouldn't cost that much to bring it up to an acceptable standard, to match the area and views.

Unbeatable value and location
Excellent space, although a little tired in places, it was a very generous sized house with everything you needed. Location was exceptional so close to the village

Comfortable Home from Home
A big house in a beautiful setting, but cosy too. Only a short walk into Grasmere, but many stunning walks from Bramrigg House. The managers were really helpful.

Beautiful House, but
This is a beautiful large house, suitable for families or groups
the upstairs bathroom is very impressive and given the age of the property, it is in good order
The house does need some TLC, Windows in need of repair, but this did not spoil our visit,
The kitchen really is the heart of the house and is large, spacious with lots of storage, however, instructions on using the aga would have been useful, one of the ovens on the electric side did not work,
And a spend on some kitchen equipment wouldn't go amiss
especially in the sharp knife department
not one at all, just as well we took our own
Also as this house can accommodate up to ten people, there was a lack of larger crockery for serving meals in
The fridge door seems to be damaged
a couple of the dining chairs were to unstable to use, we were a party of 8, so just managed
little things, like only 7 table mats
no radio as stated, or mini hi fi
Overall it was generally clean, but the downstairs bathroom could do with some maintenance, lots of spiders and webs
The situation of the house and the views are outstanding, and it had a lovely peaceful feel about it

We enjoyed a fabulous weekend at this wonderful house.
Family gathering to celebrate my husband’s birthday - wonderful spacious home, exceeded our expectations with very comfortable large bedrooms. Brilliant kitchen with dining room adjoining which was perfect for us to enjoying meals together.
Lots of walks from the house - we can’t wait to return !

Comfortable property in good location to access the high central fells.
Added bonus of nearby pub and safe stroll down quiet lanes to Grasmere. Only downside is the lack of crockery and serving dishes. Some of the kitchen equipment was a bit shabby. Nice kitchen/dining room great for gathering together. Fabulous views and great to be able to walk straight from the cottage. All the rooms adequately clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water but shower upstairs stopped when the bath downstairs was running. Overall top week!

You’ll enjoy your stay. This house is comfortable though far from plush. It’s located in a quiet spot an easy stroll away from Grasmere (the pub is even closer) and has fabulous views.Things this house needs:- to be cleaned properly (the dust in our bedroom was bad)- the kitchen equipment to be refreshed (accommodation for ten? Just have ten different-coloured mugs in the cupboard. Not four large cups, 4 small cups and so on plus an assortment of weird items that seemed incongruous for a large group of people on a trip to the Lakes.Broken scissors? Dilapidated chopping boards? Kitchen knives so blunt that it took all my strength to slice a sweet potato?).You could put this place right with a deep clean and a trip to IKEA with £50 in your pocket. It’s a crying shame it hasn’t been done. But nevertheless, we had a great stay.

Potentially fabulous, but crying out for TLC.

Great location let down by dated, shabby decor, furniture and facilities.
Great size and location for access to fells, pub & Grasmere. Clean bedding and fluffy towels. Plenty of hot water and good heating, once my husband worked out how to turn the heating on. We asked for someone to come but they were too busy with it being a bank holiday weekend! Disappointed with level of cleanliness, dated decor, general upkeep, e.g. grubby high chair, poor condition of dishwasher, faulty hinge on fridge door, handles missing from wardrobe doors, dirty hall and dining room carpets, cobwebs and dusty skirtings, rubbish behind the furniture, stains on the wall behind the kitchen bin.
Elderly parents enjoyed the ground floor bedroom and sitting room with access to the garden but their ensuite requires a walk in shower instead of the bath with shower attachment. My father had to negotiate the stairs to access the walk in shower on the first floor! The first floor caters for 8 guests sharing one large bathroom. An additional ensuite shower room would be beneficial. The living room is let down by the dreadful electric fire which makes a horrible noise . An open fire or wood burner would be far more attractive and cosy in the evenings. Outside the garden was lovely with gated access to footpath but the wooden furniture was shabby, uncomfortable and some chairs were broken. The play house is a good idea but children need supervision at all times as there is a broken chair behind it they could easily climb onto the roof and there’s a steep drop round the side down to the driveway below
Some maps and walking guides of the local area would have been useful in the welcome folder along with clearer instructions for operating the Aga, dishwasher and washing machine.

Well situated large house for family group holiday
We enjoyed out stay in Bramrigg House. It met our needs and was very spacious with a large garden for the dog. We enjoyed sitting outside just enjoying the wonderful views. However we felt Bramrigg was in need of a little TLC. Cleaning a large house is difficult but a little bit more care and attention is needed to clean the cobwebs in corners and the cobwebs above the blinds. A minor problem perhaps but an easy one solved. The annexe downstairs was very cold during the night so a separate heater in there would have been good. However in saying that we did have a lovely week and would come back to the house as we loved the views and where is was situated.

Fabulous family home for Christmas
Great House, there was a lovely Christmas tree when we arrived. The kitchen was the hub of the house and we had shared some great times . Bedrooms lovely but make sure you tell them if you need 3 beds in a room because although advertised as being 3 bedded, you do need to let them know . Free WiFi and strong signal. Enjoyed walks with the dogs and going to the local pub. ( nice food) All within easy walking distance. Grasmere Village is a little bit further than you might think , so bear this in mind if you have anyone with a mobility problem in your party. Overall an amazing house and location . We got a quick response to a couple of questions and would definitely go again.
