Location is perfect, staff is really kind and there's something very difficult to find in TZ and it's there in Wakawaka... wifi in the rooms 👌🏾
The owner really cares about your comfy and safety.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. spacious rooms, close to the center
Nothing. Great stay

David and Victoria were the best hosts. They are very kind and caring people. They are really trying to make this place feel like home. I enjoyed coming back multiple times after trips around Arusha. They also helped organizing my further travels. There are also some volunteers living there. Victoria cooks breakfast for the guests and also a dinner for the volunteers, which I was invited some times. Even though I booked a dorm bed, I got my own room with a double bed and bathroom. The property is a 20 min walk from the city center, the last 5 min being a dirt road, which bold unfortunately doesn’t recognize as a pick up place.
WiFi is working well in the common area.
Best not to book via booking.com since there are 4€ hidden costs (including 2€ towel fee)

The hostel is a house with comfortable rooms, nice beds and locking cupboards for your things. The staff are nice and friendly. It's very clean. I can easily walk to coffee, restaurants and shops. The wifi is good. I stayed here before and after my safari trip. I would recommend it if you want somewhere quiet and chill and don't want a party hostel vibe.

the room is clean and comfortable. the personal are very nice
we had shower in the room but when you use it the floor was full of water. Not really comfortable.
They changed our place to stay to another from the same company, so the pictures aren’t posted on booking

David is a really nice guy !
wifi and hot water works well and it’s at 10 minutes of walk from clock tower (center of the city)

This place attracts like minded intrepid travelers. Met some amazing people from all over. David, the owner, knows so mych about the area and Safaris. The staff was so kind. Did laundry, ate good food around table, and enjoyed the family like atmosphere.

The owners are fantastic. to be clear, there are two properties: wakawaka house and wakawaka hostel. I stayed in hostel one night and David (owner) knew it’d be empty so opted to move me to house where it was more lively. both properties are great, but house is a better location.
fast wifi for working, great blankets and pillows on beds. David is more of a a friend than a host and Josephat is extremely accommodating. They will help you book tours
I don’t really have any complaints

The location

Had a great time at Wakawaka.
Room was awesome, very clean, comfy bed & good wifi over the property.
Very secure and good location close to the clock tower but away from the main road so quiet at night.
David was a great host sorting out airport pickup for me (recommend) and then info for my onward travels and making sure I was ok.
The ladies serving breakfast were great as well and always so happy.
Would recommend when staying in Arusha!
All great!

The staff was absolutely great! I do not have enough words to compliment them.
1) The locations are very confusing
2) The reservations did not reflect the available rooms

The room nice and clean, but very standard for a guesthouse. The security is very high and the house is placed in a queried part of the city.
James is exceled host. He will take care of you. His is a very lovely person, who really will like to help, if you have any question or needs at your stay. Personally I wish James all kinds of luck and hope he will find his opportunity to start at his finale studies. James is good man with excellent perspectives.
Best Regards Rasmus & Hans from Denmark

Comfort of the bed, Location
Horrible rude owner who didn't want to accept the payment as written down on the site. Ended up paying twice, once by card, once in cash. Other nice places in Arusha are available, so avoiding here is recommended. No hot water as well.

Very nice House! - nice and clean rooms
David, the owner, is a very cool guy and helps where he can :)

I had a good time at Wakawaka, especially in connection with the friendliness of the staff and owner here. The ambiance was very personal and familial, they were very supportive in recommending things to do and to help with things I needed done.
My room was rather noisy due to a gate and the dogs that had their "crib" in that part of the yard. My bathroom was constantly wet due to water coming out when taking a shower, the shower curtain not being adequate for the height and length of the shower curtain.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was just right for me and my husband to stay a few nights and explore the city. The rooms were clean and simple but all we needed!
The ceiling was peeling a little in the first room we stayed in due to the humidity of the shower but nothing major.

The location is excellent! Close to tanzanite experience, Maasai market and natural museum. Also, Ani was very nice from the beginning giving me good advices and making me feel at home. Thank you!

Wakawaka Hostel/house was our home in Arusha for a week. Perfect location, close to several cafes and restaurants. A very calm and silent street. Very comfortable room, hot bath and the staff helped us with everything. Owner David is a wonderful person and he also helps to organize safaris.
We loved everything.

Such a warm welcoming from David in his house!
He made us fell at home and part of his family straight away!
We had some bad luck but he was here to help and support us.
We'll be back without any hesitation if we have the chance to come back.
Thanks again for welcoming as you did in your family!

David is the most amazing host ever, everything you need he will sort out and make sure you are comfortable and have what you need during your stay. Very relaxing vibe and had a lot of fun chilling out and speaking with other travellers at the hospital. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and next time I stay in Tanzania I will be back!

Peaceful location, good value for money, friendly staff
No WiFi for the 3 days I stayed there. There's a huge dog even though harmless, will jump on you and still hurts you
3.9
Breakfast had a choice of how you want your eggs and various fruits
Try get the master upstairs suite for the most comfortable and spacious stay
wifi was a bit stop and start , bring your own if wifi is important to you
