Good value half board deal, nice outdoor ambient. Polite and generous owners.
Lack of natural light in room, bathroom to recover somehow. At our stay few guests consumed all breakfast. Was in hurry to wait for more to come. Very polite staff though gave us a takeaway.

It is a beautiful property in the countryside with a lovely pool area and gorgeous old olive trees. The main building where breakfast was served is old and stately. The breakfast was very good.
The room was very ordinary and the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom and rooms need updating. The staff were not very courteous and there was a silly set of “rules” in the room! It was ok for a 1 night stay but we would not go back.

Pool was nice and quiet when we just had other residents
Booked 7 months in advance for our honeymoon.
On arrival, due to a booked party, no meal available and advised to go to nearest town. The party then took up half the pool area and we with other guests were all in the sun as the umbrella's had been used for the party visitors shade. They also left glasses around the pool and put some rubbish in the pool,
Partygoers sat outside our room into evening.
Town did not have restaurants opening until 7-8pm. Disappointing and we could have been told in advance.

Nice pool in a great decor. Breakfast is perfect, varied. The decor of the area is beautiful and charming.

Breakfast and the swimming pool.
There was a smell problem in the bedroom due to a plumbing problem probably in the bathroom.
That shouldn't be.
The hotel is located next to a busy highway.

-hosts were nice and in case of any requests they were very helpful
-variety of sweet pastry for breakfast + fresh fruits from the garden
-building is located next to a highway
-bathroom could use a facelift
-apart from pastries breakfast was a bit disappointing

Breakfast was great and the lady running the service was so nice which made the early morning experience very tranquil.
Mattress was a little too firm.
The shower head could have provided a a little wider coverage. Either the head ports were clogged or it might have just been a lower quality head. Very

Super beautiful! Little abandoned area but rather than that, good food, lovely hosts, amazing views... stunning!

We opted for Masseria Savoia as we were looking to visit Matera while staying reasonably close to the seaside. The property is just about half an hour by car from Matera, while the beautiful beaches of Ginosa Marina, Castellaneta and Metaponto are really close by, hence it proved to be a perfect choice.
Masseria Savoia is a stunning property. The main building is beautiful and tastefully renovated and the swimming pool is especially great - our kid loved it. The restaurant serves great food and wine in a sophisticated yet traditional setting. Breakfast is good and fresh and offers a nice choice of local products - although it would be better if it was served on the restaurant tables rather than on the large, circular tables where it is offered now.
Our room was really, really disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for it. We called the property beforehand, warning them we were traveling with a small child, yet we were given a tiny room where we could hardly move after we'd placed our bags and his travel cot. When we complained with the receptionist we were told we "should have mentioned we were traveling with a toddler in our Booking.com reservation" - a rather surprising reply after we'd talked to her directly on the phone and wrote her an email specifically asking for a larger room and even proposing to pay an additional fee; apparently that wasn't enough.
Apart from being really small, our room was also really dark: the only window was our front door, whose blinds had to be perpetually closed to prevent our neighbours and cleaning staff from looking in. The bathroom had one window, too, yet it was facing some service area where the restaurant staff was working; we decided to open it once in order to vent the room after a shower and were greeted by a waiter smoking a cigarette just outside.
As others have mentioned, the property is right next to a highway. While this is hardly a nuisance in the common areas - the restaurant and pool are shielded by the main building, thus the car noise is hardly audible - our room was right next to it. While the noise was hard from unbearable, it was constant, day and night, and far from pleasing, especially since we were supposed to be in a quiet, countryside setting.
Overall, we had the feeling the owners and managers of Masseria Savoia are giving much more attention to the restaurant and pool - both flawless, well-managed facilities - than to the rooms; this is a pity, considering how beautiful the property is, and it is especially disappointing considering how steep the rates are for the area - with all due respect, Ginosa Marina is not St.Tropez.
