One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! David, Andre, and Crina are just amazing, so caring and friendly, yet master of their craft: be it cooking amazing dishes, recommending amazing wines or helping us plan out our days to enjoy the most of the region. Seldom have I felt more welcomed and cared for.
This hotel in itself is worth a visit to the Spanish Pyrenees. Really, it's that good. The building has all the charm of its accumulated past (parts of it dating to the 10th century) and all the comfort of a modern luxury hotel. Heated floors, great spacious rooms, balconies with views of the mountain, cozy reading rooms...and the food!
And as much as it's hard to leave such an amazing place, it's also the perfect base from which to explore the manny quaint villages around or hike the Parque Nacional Ordesa y Monte Perdido, as well as many other marked and unnarked trails (some of which starting right at the hotel grounds!).
A must stop for anyone planning to visit the north of Spain, and one we're definitely coming back to as often as possible.

A haven of tranquility. What a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. David, the owner, and Andre and Carina were delightful and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. David was also hugely knowledgeable about the area and gave us great recommendations on what to do and see. Dinner was delicious and we loved trying the local wines. Breakfast was also lovely with wonderful local produce and Andre's delicious home baking. Cannot recommend this fabulous hotel highly enough.
Having to leave.

- don’t forget to dine here - the dinners are breathtakingly delicious

David’s place is very special. He manages to combine refined taste with a casual retreat capturing the rustic feeling of the region without sacrificing comfort. We stayed for three nights and were sad to leave. The location is extremely tranquil, nestled in a valley with 360 views of nature and a beautiful star filled sky. We dinned in each night and were continually delighted with our meals. David et al accommodated our weird allergies with grace and ease. Places like this are few and far between and we will certainly return for another visit.

Where to start? It's an incredible property that is just so exceptionally well finished and immerses you in the peace of nature.
The location is fabulous, beautiful landscapes and hills surround it and a little creek you can walk to.
The house was an old farm that has been renovated eith such love and care, and is full of interesting items so thoughtfully selected and places. It is pure comfort and very well designed.
The bedrooms are comfortable with beautiful rooms, the bathroom was spacious, clean and very well equipped.
The dining room and food blew me away. They were so careful with everything, and you even get personal little tongs for serving food from the breakfast buffet. The dinner prepared by a chef is absolutely worth it, and quite gourmet! The wine selection was also great.
The thing I liked most however was the peace of the place. You're surrounded by hills, cowbells and bird song, and the next neighbour is on the next hillside. It's such an incredible location, and I can't wait to go again!
David and his staff were extremely kind and caring, I can only wholeheartedly recommend this place!

The views from the balcony are stunning. The environment was lovely.
I found the owner quite dismissive of his guest. He has a lot to share about his journey to owning and running the hotel - which he is proud of. I think though he would benefit from not making assumptions that everyone wants to know this story and instead to show an interest in his guest and asking what brings them to his hotel and telling his story through that conversation. It would be great as an owner to share stories of the kinds of people who visit rather than just getting told his story.
In addition I do think he should update the details on his location. It is important that people know the hotel is 5k off the main road - and the last 1k is a gravel track. This is not to put people off but rather give an honest picture of it's location.
The owner spent several minutes criticising a pervious visitor who had negativitely commented on struggling to find the hotel. I found this unfair given we also questioned if we were on the right road.
Finally if you offer a service to people you have to be prespeared to acknowledge different feedback.
I would visit again, because the hotel has much to offer, but I would be visiting with more accurate information on the location.

What an incredible location in the Aragonese Pyrenees, we didn't want to leave! We specifically wanted something rural and Casa de San Martín overdelivered. It's such a peaceful location with a gorgeous view over the valley. Easy access to a couple of parks and fantastic hikes. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner! David and Thomas were both fantastic hosts, and David is a wonderful resource if you want to find hikes that are less busy—but just as captivating—as the more popular hiking trails.

David, the owner, and his staff were very helpful and attentive. The house, which has been beautifully restored, presents a story of its own. Food was good, breakfast offered everything we needed and asked for. Views from the room were stunning and the experience was truly special.
Nothing not to like, really. A pool would have been nice, but, come on, do you really expect that in the middle of the mountains? If you do not know what you are getting into, you may not like the location. However, the place "in the middle of nowhere" is what most people will like the most about this hotel.

This place is totally underrated. We loved David’s warm welcome. He takes time to get to know you and tailors the service to your needs. It’s a small property so service is personalised and geared towards relaxing and reconnecting with nature.
The grounds of the house are beautiful and the views are breathtaking.
The food is excellent and rivals the restaurants we went to during our tour of Spain - they have a fantastic chef.
It’s a homey, welcoming place and you more than get the value for your money.

Perfection! David made us feels like friends in his beautifully restored home. Location was absolutely breathtaking. Love it here!

The owner greeted us and gave a thorough tour of the property and it's interesting history. Let me say this was the highlight of our two week trip in Spain. We were going to drive to Ordesa National Park but found the hiking just over the hill from here was interesting and uncrowded (did not see anyone else on the trail for 5 miles) . Be sure to take Ara along on your hike. We loved our room, the food, and the beautiful scenery. Hope to be back soon.
Only staying two nights.
