Patrice was an excellent host , renting us his fabulous apartment. We had the pleasure of staying in his apartment for 5 days. When you step outside from the front door, you are suddenly transported back into time, with a Roman temple, at your doorstep. There was so much to see , all within easy walking distance! We soon realized that 5 days was not enough time. We will be back for two weeks next year! We greatly enjoyed Patrice’s fantastic art collection- we were truly inspired! We just can’t say enough good things about his apartment and his assistance during our visit. It truly was an honor to be there.

It’s difficult to say something original that praises Patrice’s outstanding apartment. From his welcome, to the gallery of art, to the tasteful decoration, to the thoughtful amenities, this apartment stands apart from any other we have rented. The location is superb with the city’s best market, Les Halles, just outside the door. Don’t want to cook? A short walk will bring you to any number of good restaurants. The great location extends to all the important cultural attractions within walking distance. Finally, your host is attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will return.

I loved this place when I first spotted it on the VRBO site. Patrice actually came downstairs when he spotted us from the window and helped guide us to the building. Everything about the apartment is well thought out and so artful yet comfortable. My husband thought the bed was a bit uncomfortable but I thought it was fine. Loved the lift and the views from every window. I would stay there again without hesitation. Wonderful experience and great host.

This is the best vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in. What else is there to say?

Patrice was very accommodating, the apartment is very nice and clean with beautiful art. Highly recommend.

A great pied a terre with a lift for three of the four floors. The apartment was decorated like an art gallery with paintings on every wall, on every space. It was private and spacious for two. Restaurants, bars, museums, the smaller than Rome coliseum, the canal were walking distance in the centre of town. Our host Patrice informative and a gracious host in English or French.

This apartment was originally lived in by Patrice, the owner and host. Much of his original furniture and especially artworks remain and it is a delight. Located on the 4th floor of an old building (with lift to 3rd level); but completed renovated in recent years, it is comfortable with everything one could want. We enjoyed it tremendously and would recommend it to any visitors to this very interesting and beautiful city. Patrice lives in the same building and was a very kind and attentive host.

Patrice is the perfect host and his charming top floor apartment simply cannot be faulted. The character ambience and central location mean this is the only place I wish to stay on future visits to Nîmes

Exceptional and Unique!
The previous reviews have clearly stated how special this apartment is, and it is difficult to find new adjectives to add to the list! This sweet apartment is exceptional. Patrice has decorated with such love and passion, and as guests you feel that in every space. The paintings are beautiful, fun, and make this apartment so unique. Yes, the apartment is incredibly comfortable - a really peaceful place when you leave the heat and crowds after a fun day in town. Yes, the AC works and keeps the apartment nice and cool - it’s also very quiet. Yes, Patrice has stocked it with linens, dishware, cleaning products, etc. to make your stay pleasant. Yes, check -in and directions were easy and meticulous. Yes, Patrice is a gold star host! The most important thing is the cleanliness of this special space. It is truly spotless. Everything works as it is supposed to and this makes everything that is so special even more welcoming. The place feels like home. Thank you Patrice for sharing your exceptional space with us!

A charming home away from home
This apartment could not have been more perfect for our stay in Nimes. It is located close to the indoor market, various shops, restaurants and boulangeries - all the things that were important to us. The apartment itself was charming. Cozy, filled with paintings and objets d’art, it was like living in a small art gallery with all the amenities of home. Our host Patrice was wonderful. He was there to greet us when we arrived and checked in every so often to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. He offered excellent
suggestions for restaurants and places to visit while in Nimes. In brief, we highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Nimes.

Practically Perfect in Every Way!
We'd worried that the photos and reviews might be too good to be true, but WE were WRONG! This is the Mary Poppins apartment: Practically Perfect in EVERY Way! It was like living in a wonderful art gallery, in a well-located, exquisite historic neighborhood. Patrice was kind, generous in suggestions of restaurants, patisseries, and must-see places to visit. After eight nights, we didn't want to leave. We'll be back.

Un Appartement Merveilleux Avec un Hôte Charmant/ Wonderful Flat and an Amazing Host
Merci infiniment, Patrice!
We had a wonderful 4 week stay in this beautiful flat located in the centre of Nîmes. The flat is filled with wonderful paintings and decorative pieces that really give you the sense that you are living in a real home, and not simply in a vacation rental. Here, we were close to the the ancient temple Maison Carée, the Arena of Nîmes, the Jardin de la Fontaine (public garden), les Halles de Nîmes (a large indoor food market), many restaurants, and a large public parking lot for our rented vehicle. Our host, Patrice, was so kind and generous, and gave us such a warm welcome on arrival. He really wanted to ensure that we thoroughly enjoyed the flat as well as all that Nîmes and the surrounding villages (that we could visit by car) had to offer. Do not hesitate to rent this lovely flat, you will not regret it. Thank you so much, Patrice!

Exquisite View of the Maison Carree
The flat was beautifully appointed with everything and anything you could imagine. The place was spotless, and afforded a central location with exquisite views of the Maison Carree. We were so thrilled with how gorgeous Nimes was and how centrally located the apartment was. We were very glad we decided to use Nimes as our base of operations. The owner provided excellent recommendations for sights to see, food to eat and things to do. The artwork was truly magnificent and made the stay even more wonderful. Very close to great restaurants, the Arena, the train station and museums. We had a rental car for three days and the car park was only 2 blocks away. FABULOUS accomodations.

A place to call home
In the last 20 years we have rented 5 different properties in Nimes and this was by far the best fit for us. The location is perfect! The apartment is opulent and has a well appointed kitchen, modern bathroom, comfortable and spacious bedroom. The shopping is literally just steps away. Patrice is a great host and I look forward to returning to Nimes and this lovely apartment many times in the years to come. Sincerest thanks for sharing your lovely place with us Patrice!

Superb apartment and perfect host
Our experience met all our expectations, thanks to all the reviews and photos. Loved Nîmes and the apartment. We stayed during a heat wave and the air con didnt help in the bedroom so the host kindly provided a fan. Just be aware there are a few low rafters, which my 6 foot tall husband had to crouch to clear.

Perfect getaway in a wonderful location
My fiancé and I loved our stay in this gorgeous art-filled apartment. It is located right next to the Maison Carrée, and we were spoiled to be able to have breakfast sitting on and around this millenia-old monument each day. It is also an easy walk to a variety of other attractions including the arena, the public gardens, and a number of museums.
Patrice was wonderful. When we arrived late on our first day, he helped out by booking us a reservation at a local restaurant. He was also open to questions, and provided us with helpful recommendations on how to navigate Nîmes and find the shopping or sight-seeing we were looking for. In short, this was a great find, and I would highly recommend it.

Astonishingly sophisticated and you can stay there.
Here’s your chance to stay in a perfectly edited, enormously extravagant, expertly appointed, absolutely gorgeous suite of rooms overlooking the best of Nimes, and pretend it is yours.
Nothing lacking, totally comfortable, elevator and only one final flight of stairs that are wide and easily mounted. Hot water abounds, and everything works! Artwork and antiques everywhere you look.
Throw in the gracious, stately, charming city of Nimes and you will never want to leave.
Patrice is a host extraordinaire, kind, friendly and beyond helpful; he is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met.
Ten stars.

A uniquely stylish and charming apartment in the centre of Nimes
This apartment is glorious, with art from floor to ceiling. It does not feel like a rental property but rather a comfortable, personal home. The facilities are good, clean and modern and the pedestrianised old town is on your doorstep. Patrice was extremely helpful in researching parking possibilities for our large van and coming to find us to guide us to the flat. His local knowledge was very useful, recommending restaurants and sights. The wonderful Halles market is very close with fabulous displays of food and vegetables and there are plenty of up-market shops. Nimes is stylish and sophisticated and, if you like that sort of thing, goes slightly mad at Feria time.

Location location location
Thank you Patrice for making our stay so enjoyable. The climb up to the 4th floor was manageable and kept me in shape in order to experience all the wine and food of Nimes! We loved the central location, where we were able to just walk around Nimes. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Our only regret is not staying longer in your lovely apartment. So much to see...so little time to enjoy!
A bientot!

Amazing Apartment in Nimes
My husband and I just returned from a fabulous trip to France. We were in country for 16 days. We spent three nights in this lovely apartment in Nimes. We loved it! Patrice is an excellent host who has truly thought of everything in the place. From the moment we booked our trip Patrice was available to offer suggestions that made our time in Nime delightful. His suggestions ultimately helped us set an itinerary that was full of the local culture and yet relaxing. We had read the previous reviews and Patrice lived up to every one!
The 4th floor apartment was beautifully decorated with local art. I think we were still finding paintings we hadn't noticed on the way out the door. There was so much character in this place. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The bathroom was spotless. It was a wonderful place to relax at the end of the day, make our own food and enjoy a bottle of wine. This little haven became home to us. We loved it and would definitely stay again. Thank you Patrice for a making Nimes a wonderful stop on our trip!

Unique and utterly charming. Fabulous central location. Superb, beautiful and wonderfully equipped.
Patrice is the best host we have ever encountered. He is really keen to make you feel at home in his stunning apartment which is on the fourth floor of a glorious building within 80 m of the magnificent Maison Caree. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with paintings, prints and objets d'art in every space. The kitchen is well equipped and suitable for taking a leisurely breakfast. The bathroom is spotless, and welcoming. What a wonderful find!

Loved it!
Our 5 day stay in Nimes was wonderful. Really enjoyed the city and there’s lots to see and do within a 30 - 40 minute drive. The apartment is exactly as advertised, maybe better. Great location, very clean, comfortable bed, lots of room, wonderful artwork, well stocked with everything you’ll need . . . . . Patrice is a great host, very helpful with recommendations of things to do and see and places to eat. Would not hesitate to recommend and would love to stay here again!

Wonderful, small apartment in and old building in the centre of Nimes.
We loved Patrice's apartment; it was comfortably furnished and we were surrounded by beautiful, mostly contemporary works of art. Patrice has a great flair for choosing high quality and thought provoking art and has filled every space on every wall with his choices. Patrice himself was very helpful to us, without being intrusive. I left something behind in the apartment and he posted it to me - very kind. The apartment is right in the centre of old Nimes - very easy to walk to all the attractions and surrounded by good restaurants. However, it is not easy to drive in this part of the city and I would not recommend having a car, as we did. We became quite anxious about taking the car out of the underground car park and driving it through the narrow streets, so if we go back (which we would love to do) we will go sans voiture.

Perfect location for visiting Nîmes
I just spent 4 nights in a beautiful apartment in front of the "Maison Carrée". Patrice is a charming hôte, very accessible and he will take time to give you all kind of suggestions about restaurants and things to do during your stay.
Apartment was spotless and Bed was very comfortable but mostly you can't beat that location, close to everything and in a very safe neighborhood .

Unique, stylish, comfortable apartment in a great location; great host. Would recommend.
Patrice's apartment is a great place to base yourself when visiting Nimes. It is centrally located with great rooftop views from both sides. It is more than spacious enough for two people, with facilities for self-catering, and with the amazing produce in Les Halles just nearby this is a good option. Patrice also provided recommendations for several local restaurants and we enjoyed all those we tried.
The apartment is comfortable and stylish, and decorated with an amazing array of artworks....even by the end of our week there I was still spotting pictures I hadn't engaged fully with yet! It was a great place to just spend time in relaxing, in between visiting the local sights. Climbing the four flights of stairs each day will keep you fit, however there is a lift to the third floor available to use.
Patrice is a friendly and welcoming host. He replied promptly to all messages and queries, and helpfully arranged for the apartment to be ready early so we could get settled in straight off our train. He had a wealth of information and suggestions about things to see, including bus and train timetables and how best to get to each place. Nimes easily had enough to keep you busy for a week, and more besides. Thoroughly recommended.

Truly amazing apartment
We were so thrilled to find this great apartment. The location was perfect for exploring Nimes. We were able to shop at Les Halles du Nimes and pick up all the fresh food and wine we needed to make a great meal at the end of each long day of walking and exploring. There were plenty of restaurants around, but we didn’t want to miss and evening of food and wine and enjoying the wonderful art work in this home. We both love the artists of the region and so this was especially enjoyable to us.
Patrice is a most charming and helpful host with all the information we needed to find our way around. Plus we really enjoyed the discussions about the various art pieces of his fabulous collection.
We will certainly be back if we can return to Nimes again. Thank you so much for sharing your love of art and living well in Nimes.

"A Room with a View"...and just as enchanting.
Yes, this apartment is enchanting and what non-Europeans dream about when they think of France. And yes, it's well equipped, clean, and everything works, but, in the end, those were not really the most important things. When I think about my stay in the "attic apartment", I realize that it was Patrice, the owner, that really made the difference. I've rented around the world (and 3 times in France), and your welcome is usually an email that tells you that your the key is under the mat and..fill-in-the-blank...hopes you enjoy your stay.
Not so here. Patrice, who owns the apartment, greets you personally. He shows you how everything works and has wine and specialty food items from the region awaiting you.
It's clear that he loves Nimes and wants you to love it too. He gives you recommendations and information on restaurants, travel, and sites you might want to see in and around the city.
He's a fountain of knowledge and better than any guide book you own.
I enjoyed a brief stay in Nimes in 2015, knew immediately I had found a very special town and planned to return for a much longer stay. So, when I did return, I was already in love with Nimes but finding my French "attic"made Nimes unforgettable.

Magical and beyond expectations!!
I travel a great deal and this was, without question, the most beautiful, magical place I have stayed in. In the centre of town, just across from the magnificent Maison Carree, this apartment is warm, filled with lovely object d'art and otherwise exquisitely decorated. No 5 star hotel could compete! Patrice, the host, could not be more helpful in terms of suggestions for what to see and where to eat. I will go back as soon as I can. How truly special and memorable and yet very reasonable. A traveller's dream come true. Thank you Patrice!
