About this villa rental
Loma La Parra is situated at the heart of Andalucia's most beautiful areas of mountains and lakes and set in several thousand square meters of private land, between two protected areas of extraordinary natural beauty, El Chorro and El Torcal and just 30 minutes from the famous, spectacular walkway, "el caminito del rey" or Kings Walk. Local activities include, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing, walking, water sports on the lakes, arial sports, sightseeing and shopping and golfing in nearby Antequera. Within easy reach are Malaga, Granada (the Alhambra and snow skiing), Cordoba and Seville, the coast and Gibraltar. Alternatively, just relax, soak up the sun and enjoy your peaceful surroundings; the views, the village life, the house, pool, barbecue and gardens.
Golf: Antequera Golf is 20 kms or half an hour from the villa.
Alhaurin Golf is 30 kms or 40 minutes away.
Both are in the mountains with spectacular scenery.
There are may more courses on the coast one or two hours away.
Coast/Beach
The Costa del Sol's beaches are 30 miles away which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The better areas are Fuengirola and the smaller beaches around Marbella.
A 2 to 3 hour drive will take you to the Atlantic windsurfing beaches around Tarifa.
Skiing: The Province of Granada is home to Andalucia's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, and its local ski resort, Sol y Nieve.
There is an excellent, modern, lift network, good access, skiing to 3000 metres, and vertical descents of 1000 metres. Open from Christmas to the end of April, the resort is 2.5 hours from the house.

The private swimming pool measures 11m x 5m. There is an exceptionally spacious, tiled surround for sunbathing, a pergola shade and spectacular views to the mountains.
The nearby summer kitchen and barbecue with stone table and outside seating for 12 guests is the focal point for your outdoor dining.
There is a separate covered terrace with wooden pillars and beams, and a pine table to seat 10, plus a sofa and two armchairs.

In the village there are many bars and a few restaurants There are supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor, butchers, bakers, take away pizza and roast chicken and a market every Thursday. There are banks with cash machines. Antequera, less than half an hours drive, is a superb shopping center with many restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

Wow - never had such a fantastic family holiday. My wife and I entertained 3 of 5 of our adult children and their respective partners and 5 of our grandchildren at Colin and Francesca's country house in August 2024. When we were a lot younger we had some wonderful family holidays at both hired accommodation and properties we have owned abroad, but none recently or with so many participants. More recently we have tended to holiday at 5 star hotels abroad and it has just been my wife and
myself. Now we are older ( I am 78 and somewhat infirm) and our children have families we all decided to have a "Last Hurrah" with as many of our extended family as possible ( some of our grandchildren are now raising their own children and others are making their own way in the world. Communicating with Colin was simple and he could not have been more helpful and flexible in making the arrangements. The property is large and and the outside area - grounds and pool are superbly maintained by Colin who acts as" pool boy/gardener" My wife and one of our sons and some of the grandchildren never ventured outside of the grounds all week apart from attending a birthday party meal for our 15 year old grandson at a local restaurant so kindly recommended and booked by Colin - so taken were they with the onsite facilities. One point which stops me giving a 5 star rating overall is the internal accommodation which is in need of some updating (mattresses and bathrooms)

The property is gorgeous, plenty of room for 5 couples + and the outside area is outstanding. Lovely big pool, plenty of comfortable loungers and a fabulous outdoor kitchen with seating for BBQs or drinks . Air con in the bedrooms was a godsend as we had 40 degree temps, but the breeze and the pool made it bearable! Wasps were a bit of a pain but we got used to ignoring them. Colin and Francesca are just the best hosts..always available but not interfering , solved any issues immediately and were generally lovely people. Everything was nice and clean. Kitchen was big and well equipmented. There was two big fridge and that was big plus for big group. Also there was two washing machines so it help a lot daily routines. There was also nice barbecue place under roof where was good facilities to cook. We liked that place a lot, nothing to complain. Also owner was very nice and friendly and check in and out was smooth and fast. 6/5 star for this place. Only small minus is the road ( last Kilometer) to place but that is not owners fault and not is his hand.

Property was wonderful; clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Pool and garden were immaculate, even better than the pictures.
The location was very peaceful and the views were amazing, Valle de Abdalajis is the closest village where you can find bars, a few shops and a couple of supermarkets; the locals are very friendly and it's only a 5 minute drive from the villa.
Colin and Francesca are lovely hosts, they couldnt have helped us more and we would definitely stay here again.

The property is very nice, every bedroom has its own shower/bath. In the house every thing you may need was available Also the BBQ was very good.The environment could not be better and made it easy to fill in our days. I promissed Collin to tell our friends and other people if they look voor a location we will advize to go here. Perhaps we also will go back in teh next years.

Just returned from 7 nights staying at this spectacular villa. Everything we could have wanted and more was provided. The location is stunning for those that truly want to get away from it all, fabulous pool and outdoor area. The rooms were perfect for a large group, each with its own bathroom.
A car is a must, to enable you to explore the surrounding areas and stick up at the supermarket (a number in the local town, just a 2 minute drive away).
Colin and Francesca were wonderful hosts and only a message away if we needed anything.
Will definitely be looking to book again, thank you 😊

A wonderful holiday in this spacious villa in spectacular surroundings. Pool area perfect for family fun with plenty of space for sun beds and inflatables but shaded areas also if needed. Colin and Francesca were perfect hosts, quickly available if needed but never intrusive. Excellent communication throughout the whole process. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Our stay in this beautiful villa was all that a holiday should be. The villa is beautiful with very spacious en-suite air conditioned bedrooms, ensuring all had privacy when needed and children could nap in the hot afternoons and adults too. Our hosts Francesca and Colin were marvellous and went out of their way to do all they could to make our holiday enjoyable. Never intrusive, but always at hand when needed. The ideal place to relax and enjoy the views
Arriving at the villa we were completely bowled over by the location and position and the villa itself was perfect for 9 of us plus a 6 month old. The pool is a great size, with plenty of sun beds and a very pretty shaded area. The views are incredible and look over the mountains and down into the very pretty village with supermarkets and bars. Our hosts, Colin and Francesca, made it very easy to check in and get settled into our holiday. On request, they arranged for a delicious paella feast from a local restaurant and delivered it to us themselves. We did quite a bit of sightseeing as we don’t mind driving but places like Seville, Cordoba and Granada are a good hour and a half to two hours away. Antequera, which is only half an hour away is very pretty with a fabulous castle which is well worth a visit and El Torcal, a lovely rocky walk! We would definitely come back to this area and this villa, if there were enough of us, however……….and I am nitpicking here, there were only 2 pillows per double bed and these were very flat, the knives for cutting were all blunt which made preparation of food difficult and although the BBQ area was great, there was a particular tree which screened off the cooking area from the table and stopped the ‘cook’ from joining in with the chat around the table (some lopping of branches would help). All in all, a fabulous time was had and we’d do it again anytime!

Beautiful Country House - Perfect
This stay was really perfect for us. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the garden/pool area is stunning and even better than the website photographs show with mature garden, multiple seating/lounging areas and excellent pool.
The mountain/countryside views from the house and garden are wonderful. We loved the surrounding district and local village.
Colin and Francesca were absolutely ideal hosts - really friendly and helpful but they were careful not to intrude.
It was a really great experience with no negatives.

An absolutely stunning property, perfect hosts.
Communication with Colin and Francesca was great, they were very quick to respond to any queries and nothing was too much trouble for them. Prior to our arrival they had given us plenty of tips about car hire recommendations and places to see in the local area.
The property is approximately an hour from Malaga airport. We arrived at the house and I can only describe it as absolutely stunning. It is set in the hills giving it beautiful views. The house itself has absolutely everything you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms are spacious, and all have their own bathroom. We were travelling as a party of 8 so this worked out well for us.
The outside area is beautiful, a peaceful, tranquil spot, with a lovely breeze most days. The pool area really has the wow
factor. There are so many areas to find both sun and a shady spot.
The property also has an outside kitchen and BBQ area which we made full use of.
Colin had recommended a couple of restaurants in the local village which did not disappoint. There are also a couple of smaller supermarkets, bakery, butchers, pharmacy etc which are handy.
We booked this holiday to get together as a family after a long time being apart due to Covid.-19. Colin and Francesca were a big part in making that happen and we can't recommend their property and this part of Spain highly enough.

We were a group of 13 climbers from Norway, so full house! Suprisingly no issues with hot water in the shower, even if all of us took one the same evening, this is often a problem for big groups. Also a big kitchen with room for many chefs at a time :) Valle de Abdalajis is a pretty little town, but a longer drive to Alora is better if you want to eat at restaurants.

Excellent established villa in the mountain
We had a brilliant stay at Loma La Parra. 10 of us were house in the spacious property. All 5 bedrooms were ensuite and were huge. The living / dining room provided ample space to relax indoors. The kitchen area is also impressive and also has a large table. The best part of the villa is the swimming pool area including the pagoda which provided a welcome shaded area. There's plenty of comfortable beds for everyone. A separate building housed the charcoal bbq and had both electric and water. WiFi was available throughout the property including around the pool. The owners were always available to discuss any issues. Overall an extremely good property which lived up to our expectations.

The perfect holiday home
Our family of 8 had an absolutely fantastic break at the property. Ranging from ages 7 - 65, the house met all our needs and was big, spacious and perfectly equipped for us to spend the week in the sun in the most relaxed fashion.
Days were spent in the pool or chilling in the spacious living room while evenings were spent cooking fantastic BBQs in the outdoor kitchen; enjoying quality family meals on the veranda; watching the beautiful sunsets dip behind the mountains and all followed up by evening dips in the pool. Two big shops in the Lidl half an hour's drive away (Antequera) saw us through the week. The kitchen and utility space were very well appointed so that we didn't need to purchase any equipment.
Colin was on hand all week and it was comforting having the security of support, a simple text away, (particularly given our age ranges). We feel very lucky to have experienced Valle de Abdalajis in such a perfect property and would love to visit again. You will not be disappointed with this property, location or ease of self-catering opportunity.

Just book it........!
A stunning villa in a stunning location. Situated just outside a quaint and rural village, this amazing villa is a great choice for large family's / groups with plenty of space both inside & out for everyone to spread out. The villa is well equipped with everything you need for your stay and the outside spaces are especially fantastic. The pool is cleaned every morning and we had meals delivered on two occasions and both were delicious and plentiful - enough left over to snack on the following day . Colin and Francesca were extremely helpful and responded to our enquires very swiftly and answered our numerous questions and requests for information. You really need a car to be able to get out and about - you CAN walk to the village but it is quite a hike especially in the heat, but the tranquillity of the location and the views cannot be faulted. If your looking to spend some quality time around a pool in glorious surrounding, firing up the BBQ for relaxed alfresco dining and wandering down to the village for a few drinks & tapas sat on the pavement outside a typical bar, this is the place - you won't find better!!

All you could wish for and more. Super hosts, clean, stylish villa, great pool. Great value for money. 7 adults, 5 children could easily live comfortably here. Gardener came by almost every day to clean the pool and attend to the garden. Outdoor kitchen was great!! Just book and go, you won’t regret it.

A Great choice. Fantastic stunning countryside villa, very spacious and well equipped, set high up in the hills and yet still only 5 mins from the local village and 30 mins from a large town. The surrounding area is gorgeous.
We were a party of 10 adults and 2 children, we all loved the big outdoor seating & dining areas, excellent bbq area, huge gently sloping pool and padded sun loungers. The outside space is excellent whether you want some sun or need some shade. Stunning views over the valley, you cannot see another nearby house from the villa...
The kitchen area is quite large, is quite well equipped, and allowed us to all muck in and prepare some lovely dishes prepared with local produce from the village and supermarkets. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, air conditioned(if you want it) only one was not setup as a double.
We did have a couple of issues during our stay, both times, Colin & Francesca were at the end of the phone and arranged for the issues to be resolved within the hour. They are very caring hosts and want everything to be right for you.
Everyone had a superb week. We will definitely be returning.

Stunning property - highly recommend
Perfect for our large group of 13 aged 4 - 50 odd. Beautiful setting, clean and well equipped. Having both shower and poolside towels was brilliant and there is a vast range of films on the tv which was great for when the kids needed a break from the heat or a bit of quiet time.
Colin was very helpful with both local information and when we had any queries or problems.
Local village had two supermarkets which were adequate for our needs.
Only downside was those long winding roads to reach the villa, but I guess you don’t get the stunning views and scenery without that!

We had a fantastic time at Colin and Francesca’s place - the property is stunning and spacious, the surrounding area is beautiful and there is lots to do.
We loved the big outdoor seating areas and bbq, the pool and sun loungers and the large communal space and kitchen inside the house. The bedrooms were also very nice and comfortable. Can’t say enough how great the outdoor space and pool was - that was definitely our favourite part of the house! Everything was clean and very well stocked, and whenever we had any questions or issues, Colin and Francesca were very quick to resolve them.
There was so much to do in the surrounding area, and Colin and Francesca were great at giving fantastic recommendations of places to go and visit and restaurants to eat at. They even organised a paella delivery to the villa for us, and always ensured to tell us to book in advance for attractions that get booked up - eg Caminito del Rey and the Alhambra. We also enjoyed visiting the nearby towns Valle de Abdalajis (5 mins drive) and Antequera (30 mins drive).
Overall we had an absolutely fantastic time, both in the villa and exploring the region and visiting attractions. Colin and Francesca were superb. We will most certainly stay again at some point in the future!

Wow! Truly outstanding villa!
There is only one word that describes that first view of Loma la Parra ......WOW! You know when your teenagers are impressed you have hit the jackpot!
We visited at the beginning of July for a week with our four teenagers. The house itself has everything you could possibly need, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of social space so you aren’t on top of each other and generous bedrooms plus ensuites, ensuring no arguments! Solidly built too so the teenagers didn’t disturb us at night and nor did we disturb them in the mornings.
Where the property comes into its own though is the garden. A long private driveway ensuring privacy and no close neighbours, so no need to constantly tell the teenagers to lower their voices! A very generous sized swimming pool so the adults could swim while the kids played and no shortage of seating. There was no need to rely on umbrellas for sheltering when the sun got hot as there was a generous gazebo. The outside kitchen came fully equipped for fantastic bbq’s. For me personally the best bit was the views, surrounded on all sides by mountains, with eagles soaring on the thermals and goats heading past on their way for pasture, it was amazing!
We didn’t get out and about as much as we would have liked (will need to return!) but can recommend a day in Antequera, do remember about siesta time though! You will also find large supermarkets there to stock up. We spent a day on the coast for the teenagers, Puerto Banus is great for super cars as well as boats. Realistically though with such a great villa there was no need to travel far and a restful time was had by all.
Colin and Francesca were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, they answered all our questions before and during the visit promptly and Jose was wonderful at making sure we had settled in. The wine and cakes were very much appreciated by all. Even our canine friend just made our visit more memorable.
Would we return? YES
Would we do anything differently? We would hire a smaller car, the mini van we had was a little large for the mountain roads although we were getting used to it by the time we left.

Alla var mycket tillfreds med huset och dess utrustning. Fantastisk utsikt o husets med dess gemytliga inredning. Vädret var varierat men ganska blåsigt den vecka vi var där. Bada kunde vi fast det var lite svalt i poolen.

Amazing villa
5 retired couples stayed four nights at this lovely villa. It exceeded our expectations. The house is large and comfortably accommodates 10 people with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed to make a few meals. The yard and views from the house were incredible. It is a short drive to the village ( and a couple of the group actually walked back to the villa from town 2km ). The grocery store in the village had everything we needed at bargain prices. Colin responded to several small issues we had immediately and Maria and Josef are the local contacts who took care of any problems and answered our questions. I cannot say enough about the wonderful suggestions we received from Colin and Francesca. The directions to the house, information on local fiesta, were all very much appreciated. Our only disappointment was the weather. Spain was experiencing unusual rain most of the 10 days we were there. We would have liked to have been out in the yard sitting by the the lovely pool every day. I guess we will just have to come back ! We would also suggest having Maria bring paella for dinner one night. We ordered enough for 10 and got enough for 20! There was plenty for dinner and lunch and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this property.

A fantastic place
We stayed in the house with the whole family with children from 10 to our grandmother 80 years old. It really is a beautifull house. Colin was very attentively, he helped us with information for our daytrips. The house is clean, big, cosy and has a perfect garden with swimmingpool. Hope to come back some day, thank you for you hospitallity!!

Summer August 2017
We had a fabulous 2 weeks in Loma La Parra in Spain. The property was spacious and very well maintained. The bedrooms were comfortable and had all the furniture we needed and the ensure bathrooms/shower rooms were very clean. The patio area and kitchen were well equipped and were the central meeting spaces for our large family to relax in with ample shaded areas for the times we needed to be out of the sun. The pool area was exceptionally lovely and the children (young and old) enjoyed playing in it. The sunbeds were very comfortable and there were enough for our party.
If I had to complain about anything it would be the wasps and flies who seemed to love spending the evening with us!

Fabulous Stay!
Fabulous, relaxing week with the family (all adults) in a beautiful villa, located in the perfect spot for exploring the area. The villa and it's facilities were perfect, the pool and garden were spotless, and cleaned several times during the week, and the surrounding area and views were spectacular. Amazing walk along the Caminito del Rey (a must see), which is only 30 mins drive away, and lovely days in Ronda (about 1.5 hours), and Antequera (30 mins). The owners were very communicative, both before, and during, our stay, and went to a lot of trouble to make sure everything was perfect. We had an amazing Paella delivered one evening, by Mari & Jose, relatives of the owners, and all the other evenings we took advantage of the BBQ at one side of the garden, then had really relaxing evenings on the patio, with plenty of local wine! The local town is only 5 mins drive away, with all the little local shops and supermarkets that you need, plus several lovely little tapas bars, that were a welcome distraction after doing a bit of shopping! Sadly, we can't comment on any of the local restaurants, as the villa and surroundings were so perfect that we ended up staying in every evening! We would have loved to be staying for a second week, and can't recommend this villa/location highly enough. Many, many thanks to Colin and Francesca for making our stay so perfect!

A wonderful place to stay with perfect hosts
The house was perfect for a family travelling with 4 teenagers, a younger child in a wheelchair and a granny - so a mixed bunch whose needs were met in every way. We could have just spent the whole time next to the pool and in the surrounding area... the local town was welcoming with a few little local shops with families of all ages; we also explored the local lakes, which were beautiful and did horse riding in the evening which was loved by all, even my disabled son (but not granny)... a wonderful place with very approachable hosts always keen to help.

Fantastic holiday home
This is a beautiful villa standing alone in amazing countryside. We were a group of 10 and didn't venture very far away from Loma La Para as it was everything we wanted. We all work very hard, some of us just out of A levels / degree exams and lazy days around the pool was just what we all needed. The villa had everything we required, from comfortable sun loungers, great pool, space,(inside and out) views, bbq, dishwasher, towels etc. Colin was very helpful before our stay and during via whatsapp. We also ordered the paella one night delivered to our door, hot and delicious. This is one place we would definitely return!!

Hemos pasado unos días maravillosos en Loma La Parra, éramos un grupo muy grande, con varios niños y la distribución de la casa, así como la amplitud de todos los espacios hizo que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta! Disfrutamos mucho de todos los ambientes de la casa, sobre todo los exteriores ya que nos hizo muy buen tiempo, y los niños no perdieron la oportunidad de darse sus primeros chapuzones del año en la piscina!!! Además, los alrededores y el pintoresco pueblo de Valle de Abdalajis fueron buenos aliados para cuando quisimos dar una vuelta! Gracias por manteneros siempre en contacto, resolviendo todas las dudas y peticiones que teníamos, y muy en especial, quiero hacer extensivo este agradecimiento a Mari, encantadora y siempre dispuesta a ayudar, que durante todos los días de nuestra estancia estuvo atenta y localizable! beautiful house in rural Andalucia
We spent a fantastic week over Christmas in this house. There were 15 of us from 2 yrs old to 80 and there was something for everyone. The house is in a great location with many good days out close by.
The house has been built and furnished with great care and each of the bedrooms has character and charm. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking equipment and there are two fridges and a laundry room making it very straightforward to cater for large groups.
Colin and Francesca were very thoughtful hosts. They were in touch to ensure we had a perfect stay and on the occasion when we had a small issue they were on hand to help us resolve it.
I would definitely recommend the house for large groups looking for a place to get away.

Perfection!!
We truly loved staying at Loma la Parra. The house is spacious and very well equipped. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom, a plus. The kitchen was everything we needed and we were able to do laundry, which is always a plus. But by far the best thing about the house is the patio/terrace and pool area. We sat each night on the terrace and had appetizers and drinks and talked about our day. We spent two pool days just relaxing and decompressing and they were the best!! We loved the town and Colin's recommendation to eat at Nescania turned out to be favorite for us. Colin was very responsive to our communications and so helpful with our planning. The highlight of our trip was the Caminito del Rey and Ardales Lakes, but we also enjoyed El Torcal, Los Arcos, Antequerra, and Ronda. The property is exactly as described and we could not have been happier. Highly recommend!
