About this house rental
Cozy family-friendly mountain home near others in a quiet HOA-controlled community, minutes to lakes, town, and Rocky Mt. National Park. Four bedroom getaway with cozy gas fireplace and large patio windows.
No matter the season, the Grand Lake area offers something for everyone! You'll enjoy your time in the summer, whether you're dirt biking, hiking, fishing, road biking, golfing, or boating (boat launch just a minute away on the other side of the highway). If you appreciate live theatre, we've got that too!
Winter activities also abound! Choose from cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, skating, tubing, and downhill skiing! Check out the Grand Lake Nordic Center! We've got sledding saucers available for hours of outdoor fun on our neighborhood hill! For you snowmobile enthusiasts, we are located just 200 yards off County Rd. #4, which is the main road that accesses the snowmobile trails. With enough snowfall, one can drive their snowmobiles from the house to the trails! Reasonable drives to Winter Park, Snow Mountain Ranch, Grand Lake Nordic Center, and Granby Ranch skiing.
After a day of activity, come back to the lodge to relax on the wrap-around deck. Sip some refreshing lemonade in the summer or keep cozy indoors with a mug of hot cocoa by the fireplace during the winter! Our outside fire pit is perfect for roasting hot dogs and melting s'mores!
About the house:
We feature three bedrooms (two queen and one twin over full bunk bed) and one bathroom on the main floor. Both queen beds have pillow-top mattresses. A spacious master bedroom awaits you upstairs. Sleep comfortably in the king-sized bed and enjoy the double vanity and separate bath and shower of the master suite.
Because the house can be warm on some summer afternoons, we have two queen bedrooms on the main level with ceiling fans, as well as three portable floor fans; two standing fans and a box fan. The mountains cool down beautifully every evening and we often sleep with our windows open at night. Evening temperatures can be in the 40’s and 50’s.
A loft area offers room for family games or relaxation. Send the kids downstairs for fun and games (and peace and quiet for you!). Here they will find a play area, a large comfy couch, a new Roku TV (no cable) and our third bathroom (and shower).
The vaulted ceilings of the living and dining rooms and the two large glass patio doors contribute to the beautiful views of the distant Lake Granby and Rocky Mountains. A washer and dryer (along with laundry detergent) are conveniently located on the main floor.
Moose Meadows Lodge is the ideal place to come and disconnect from the world, but if you need to stay connected to civilization, high speed wireless internet is available for your convenience.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the utensils and cooking supplies you'll need, whether you'll be cooking for a crowd or simply enjoying a light breakfast with coffee. You'll find a microwave, range, fridge, dishwasher, countertop griddle, crockpot, as well as dishes, drinking glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and wine glasses.
Please feel free to inquire if there is any feature or amenity you don't see on this list, but may be required for your stay. We'll always do our best to accommodate you!
We know this home will prove to be one of your very favorite family vacation spots. The quaint town of Grand Lake, with its friendly coffee shops and local boutiques will keep you wanting to come back year after year, and the locals will welcome you with open arms. So whether you're looking for a cozy nook to cuddle into or a grand wilderness adventure, we invite you to find it here at Moose Meadows Lodge!
About the neighborhood and surrounding area.
The town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). RMNP is among the ten oldest national parks in the United States. It boasts more than 100 peaks above 11,000 feet!
Trail Ridge Road (Highway 34) runs through the Park and is famous for being the highest continuously paved highway in the United States (12,183 feet). It is a scenic and invigorating 40-mile drive! The goal of the Park is to open this road from Memorial Day (dependent on snowfall) through fall when the snows appear (typically October). That means there is no access to Estes Park from Grand Lake during the winter months. However, they do keep the first ten miles plowed for hiking, snowshoeing, driving, and sightseeing. Please keep this in mind when scheduling April and May vacations.
Grand Lake is Colorado's largest natural body of water. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club and the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, it is also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation area. Grand Lake has been dubbed the Snowmobile Capital of Colorado due to its access from town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. A year-round vacationer's paradise for over 100 years, Grand Lake awaits you!
PLEASE NOTE:
Please be prepared before beginning your drive to Moose Meadows Lodge! AWD/4WD/chains are highly recommended during winter. Keep in mind that chain laws for non-commercial vehicles can be put into effect at any time. We do not advise driving Berthoud Pass in a front-wheel drive vehicle unless you are comfortable putting chains on yourself. Weather and driving conditions may change rapidly. Nearby highways, neighborhood roads, and our driveway are all plowed throughout the winter, although an overnight heavy snowstorm could delay the plowing. Our circular driveway is flat and can accommodate small open utility trailers. Our driveway ENTRANCE is steep and can be snow-packed and icy in the winter. BE SURE to bring your 4WD/AWD/chains! If your car needs a boost, you are welcome to use the sand and ice-melt in the garage.
Our two-car garage is available to guests throughout the year. Our garage has a low clearance of six feet. Some larger vehicles may not fit or you may need to remove your antennae first. Be careful as you approach the open garage door. Thank you!
There are two entrances to the lodge. Both require climbing a set of approximately 14 stairs (through the garage or up a flight of outside stairs.) There is not a main level entrance.
Additional cleaning charges will be applied for checking out on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day. Christmas Eve check-out is an additional $50, for a total of $305. Christmas Day check-out is an additional $100, for a total of $355

I can't say enough about moose meadows lodge. Location is perfect, views from the deck are gorgeous. Had everything we needed at the house. Close to Grand Lake, Rocky mountain national Park, lots of hiking, shopping, and other activities. Will definitely stay again.

Moose Lodge was a wonderful experience. The entire process from finding on VRBO, booking, checking in, staying, checking out was perfect. The hosts communicated throughout the entire process. The kitchen had standard items and a lot more. The hosts sent a list of items to help us plan for meals. The view of Shadow Mtn lake was amazing. Highly recommend and will return next year

Loved the location of the house. Kitchen had so many items to use- I think it was better stocked than my own kitchen. Host was easy to communicate with. Having our personal sledding hill kept the kids busy for hours. We will for sure be back!

The house was fantastic. It met all our needs for 7 guests and felt like a gimme away from home. Access to the property was easy and it was centrally located for our needs. The host was very informative, communicated well, and was very willing to help with inquiries and suggestions if needed. I’d recommend this property/host to anyone needing a house this size. No regrets, no headaches, no worries, just fun relaxation. We will keep this place in mind when we return to the area again.

Great place to stay and wonderful communication with Brian and Lola.

Moose Meadows Lodge had everything we needed from shampoo, lotion and toilet paper to a full tank of propane for the grill. There was nothing missing. The property owners, Lola and Brian, were in touch weeks before our visit, a couple days before our visit and during our visit. There was literally nothing that we needed from them because everything was covered! We have used VRBO for years and they are bar far the BEST owners ever.
The property was clean, stocked, comfortable, and exactly what was described. Lola communicated with me about things to do and answered any questions we had, even about altitude sickness. Lol. Thank you so much!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely week in the winter wonderland of Grand Lake/Granby. Our hosts have done a wonderful job with furnishing and maintaining the property. Plenty of space to spread out, well appointed kitchen, comfortable King bed in the primary bedroom, and fabulous views of Lake Granby. Couldn't have asked for more! We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Grand Lake. Thank you!

From the very first communication with Lola to the day we arrived and saw the view to the helpful tips for things to do, everything about Moose Meadow Lodge exceeded expectations. The hosts have thought carefully about every part of the guest experience and it shows.

The cabin was perfection. It has everything we could’ve needed and more. The area is very peaceful and relaxed. Lola was amazing leading up to our trip and throughout. By far the most attentive and thoughtful host I’ve ever experienced. We’d stay again a million times over.

The host communicated weeks prior to the trip with you, answers all your questions promptly.
The place is well stocked with basics and they send you a list of what is available a few days prior to arrival.
The beds were comfortable and having 3 full bathrooms for a large family is great.
Games in the TV room on the bottom floor is great to have. Loved cooking in the kitchen an sitting outside on the balcony. Used the washer and dryer and great to have a dishwasher.
If you keep the curtains closed during the day it will keep the house cool, open windows during the night it will cool the house nicely with cross drafts. It's a great place for families. The hosts are simply amazing and care to make your stay a great one.
We will come again

Moose Meadow Lodge was a wonderful experience for our family. We felt at home during our stay. Lola was welcoming and very helpful. She is kind and genuinely concerned about her guests! We had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-stocked. The beds were comfortable. The lodge is squeaky clean. We love the decor too! We enjoyed being close to Rocky Mountain National park, and the town of Grandview is lovely! We loved our stay! Thank you, Lola!!!

Great place to stay. I have stayed at numerous VRBO and most, not knocking them have cheap dishes, cheap towels, etc... Lola, has done a great job of keeping nice quality items furnishing this house. Stuff that my wife would have bought. Beware, the stairs are steep and numerous. Also, the check out is a little early, especially if you are cooking breakfast for nine and cleaning up after yourselves.

Hands down, Lola is the best property owner anyone could ask for! Easy check out and check in and their home is very comfortable! The views of Lake Granby are amazing! Grand Lake is so relaxing! We will be coming back!!

Great location and responsive host.
Our family had an incredibly fun time at this property. Lola was responsive and offered some great suggestions for the area. The house is super close to all three lakes. Grand Lake and its downtown are maybe 5-10 minutes away. There is plenty of stuff to do. But if you want to stay at the house, you want to have to worry about bringing anything. The kitchen had more than enough kitchen stuff to use to cook all your meals. The deck is a perfect spot to enjoy a good book. Overall a great time was had by everyone. I would highly recommend Lola and this location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Moose Meadows Lodge! It was absolutely perfect for our trip out to the Grand Lake area. From the [wrap around] balcony there's a gorgeous view of Granby Lake and it is a short 10 minute drive to Grand Lake and RMNP. The owners were amazing every step of the way and went out of their way to make us feel at home and ensure we had a nice time. We would absolutely return!

The house was comfortable for five of us and could easily accommodate more. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we might need in terms of appliances, grilling, spices, etc. The host reached out ahead of time and daily to ensure we had what we needed, including sending a list of pantry and frig items like butter that were available for use (pancake mix, pasta, etc). Definitely above and beyond the service I’ve experienced with other rentals. The pictures of the house are accurate, but the pictures of the view don’t do justice to how amazing it really is. The house has a clear view of Lake Granby and the mountains. You can see it any time you’re in the kitchen, dining room, or living room, and it never gets old! So beautiful. We watched some amazing sunsets from the house. The downstairs basement den and the loft give great options for kids and adults to do their own thing if desired. Everyone found their beds comfortable, and it was nice to have three bathrooms available. The dining table fits six cozy and doubles as a great place to play games or do work on a laptop with a view. The house was a good home base to explore the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake. We hiked Adams Falls, Shadow Mountain and Monarch Lake while there. All beautiful, and there were several more hikes we could have done if we had stayed longer. You could do a day trip to Fraser/Winter Park without too much driving. Grand Lake was an easy drive for eating out and getting ice cream. If you’re looking for a retreat to relax in after getting outdoors in the area, I definitely recommend this house.

My family and I had a wonderful stay up in the Grand Lake area! The property was clean, extremely spacious for my family of 4, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfectly situated with easy access to RMNP, the lakes, and Granby. Lola was a very attentive host both before and during our stay and the property was stocked with everything we needed! Thank you so much, Lola and Brian, for sharing your home with us, we would definitely love to stay here again!

This is now my second time staying at Lola's wonderful home, and it's important to note I stay in this area very often. What sets Lola's home apart from other properties is her attention to your experience and ensuring you have a great stay. The home is always well stocked and maintained. I'll certainly be staying here again! Also, if you go in the winter make sure you have AWD so you can get in and out of the drive way easy!

The home was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed. The owner Lola stayed in contact just in case we required assistance. She even helped with ideas for area restaurants and stores for general shopping needs. Grand Lake has a lot to offer adults and families with children.
