Loved the room, very comfortable and clean. We also loved the art around the hotel and within the room itself. Great to have lots of little storage spaces around the room for clothes, especially when unpacking large rucksacks!
A lot of the advertised amenities (bar, restaurant, breakfast, spa) weren’t available within the hotel itself - we thought this was misrepresented in the hotel description. When asked about the restaurant we were directed to another business down the street. The rooms are directly situated around an indoor courtyard meaning there is a bit of noise from the reception area. There was also building work going on in the reception area for the duration of our stay that started quite early in the mornings - there was no mention that this would be happening. It was disappointing to miss out on some of the positives that other reviews mentioned, such as a welcome drink, that led us to book. We also weren’t really shown where anything was in the hotel or given any info like the WiFi code when checking in. Also not having facilities for getting boiled water to make hot drinks was a shame. There was also a bit of noise from the street.

One of our favorite stays in Mexico we had during our trip. Loved the design of the place and the rooms. Very friendly helpful staff. The welcome drink was the cutest thing ever. The place is walking distance from everything in the area. The car park service was great. Perfect stay!

We booked extra nights because we loved it so much!

Beautiful room, amazing location, lovely staff
Older building so the room can get a bit humid

such great comfort! very helpful and friendly staff, they helped us organize day trips to Palenque and more. so we’ll located just a minute away from the main square
Nothing, except it’s just a little bit noisy with music playing in the patio

The hotel is well located but beyond that not much to recommend it apart from the restaurant which is good (though I certainly wouldn't say one of the best in the city).
We found the staff largely unhelpful - they seemed put out when asked anything. Despite reporting a blocked loo three times, when they eventually looked at it the toilet overflowed all over the double suite into both rooms, covering a lot of our things. While the hotel did move us to another room and refund us some of the stay, it then took us to go back in person a week later to chase up the refund. The double room we booked was rather tired and bathrooms needed upgrading with nowhere to hang towels and strange sink/tap fixtures. Also not many areas to unpack clothes into.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a terrible experience.
The toilet was broken and it was flooded and plugged on a daily basis and sometimes several times a day. We spoke to the receptionist, which sent someone to help, but didn’t change our room and we stayed there for 4 nights! most of the staff was ok accept for the guy which was head of reception. He was absolutely unfriendly and looked as though we are really troubling him with the very first time we asked for help. He totally forgot to reserve our taxi for the next day (which paid upfront) and we had to find some other way to reserve a taxi at 05:30 AM!!!
lastly the hotel held a huge conference/ fiesta at our last night, which was held at the patio right outside our door. The noise and commotion was unreal for a hotel accommodating guests who just look for a quiet place at the end of the day. attached are some photos at the flood at our room while the conference outside.
San Cris is beautiful and there are so many beautiful hotels (and less expensive than this one), do yourself a favor and don’t spend your money or time here!!
Terrible experience, room constantly flooded by broken toilet, terrible treatment by head of reception. Large conference at your door at night. Stay a way!!

we only stayed there for one night on our way to Palenque. the place is clean, beautifully designed and convenient.
shower water pressure was a bit too low and hot water took it time - not a big hustle though.

The place is beautiful, the location is fantastic! The staff were amazing! The restaurant on the premises was absolutely delicious! I ate there a few times during my stay, was never disappointed.
I was a little bummed that the windows were not made to open. Accessibility to fresh air, especially in an old establishment is really important. I personally cannot sleep with the fan running.
Also, I booked this specific location because the listing said there was a designated location for smoking. That was not the case. I was told it was in front of the hotel on the sidewalk. I didnt mind so much, but it would have been nice if there was a place to sit

Location great however the rooms smelled horribly of strong mold...very unhealthy...and we had to move to another less smelly room within 30 seconds of checking into the first room. We had breakfast for Mother's Day and the food was cold, flavorless and poorly presented...we never ate there again after that experience.
Everything!

Our room and bathroom was huge with plenty of space. The decoration is very nice.
The patio of the room is actually a restaurant. And beside our room seem to have been the kitchen. It was therefore quite load and you didn’t have a lot of privacy.

The hotel is very central and tastefully decorated. Very nice interior patio with a fountain, perfect for relaxing and getting breakfast. Food was really good, and the hotel also offers a welcome drink upon arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bed were comfortable and the room nicely furnished. Wifi is very fast and reaches all parts of the hotel
The room was pretty humid (pretty normal for the region and for this type of old house); the bathroom are built into the room but are not properly separated room, and ventilation is lacking, so it gets even more humid

The hotel is in the center, in great location
The room was huge and beautiful
The loby and restaurant are tasty
The guard made several days noise in the middle of the night

The decoration/style of the room, as well as the one of the hotel, was very modern and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and willing to help us with everything could need.
On the negative side, the room was left unlocked after cleaning each day, probably because the lock was semi-broken (one needed to lift the door while trying to lock).

A sewer smell was very strong in the bathroom and the bathroom fan was incredibly loud and rattling. We tried to change rooms, but staff said nothing else was available. Otherwise everything was fine, and our friends’ room had no issues.

well located, and clean.
check in was 5pm. we were a bit to early. we waited 1,5 hour to get in the room because it wasn’t finessed yet. we waited in de lobby. when we could go in, they knocked on the room if would like a welcome drink 😅

Great room, great location, just 1 street over from one of the walking streets, and from the cathedral.
a bit dark, but i prefer white light.

Very friendly staff! So so nice.
This is a 6 bedroom hotel, so they take care of you.
Restaurant next door, El Secreto, is great. Great food, great staff, good prices, good bar :).
Perfect location and has free parking.
The patio and restaurant were undergoing repairs , so one of the cute attractions of the hotel was not there. There was no patio dinning and it was dissapointing.
The sink in bathrooms does not look well, its old and rusty. The towels very old. Its good for the price you pay.

Beautifully decorated and styled spot!!! Very clean, staff were wonderful. Mattress and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve had in Mexico. Bathrooms and shower were perfect. Space heater in the room was greatly appreciated. Large smart TV. If you planning on being in the room 11pm-9am and exploring the rest of the time, it’s a perfect spot!
Very noisy!! I booked as a place to get some rest after a night bus and should have taken more note at other reviews that mentioned this. The courtyard is a restaurant and the rooms are right off of it (literally people eating right outside my door), the music is very loud and goes til 11-12pm. Also, I was woken up by them blasting base-thumping electronic music at 9am. My room happened to be right by the reception desk too so staff talking right on the other side of my door. Beautiful hotel, just wouldn’t recommend for a quiet/relaxing stay.

Oh I loved the cookies and your coffee is delicious. Isaac was very professional and helpful . You make a good margarita! I loved the mattresses.
Loud music every night lasting too long. Even with fan on and ear plugs it was thump thump and annoying.

Breakfast was delicious
Place was great but unfortunately at night I could hear the facilities’ security talk. It was horrible cause I had tours booked so I wanted to sleep. Had to ask them to lower their voices. Same issue 2 nights out of 3.
