Location was ideal for the WW2 sites and charming Bayeux with the tapestry and cathedral. Beautiful farming community.
James was a wonderful host and the history of the chateau was fascinating.
I understand the age of the building leads to a moist and musty environment. Unable to open most windows, and my breathing problems worsened dramatically and could not use my Cpap

The history of the location is very cool. The breakfast here is amazing!
Little dusty, but it’s an old property and a working dairy farm so it’s to be expected.

Very well placed for the bayeux tapistry and the landing beaches. Cannot do without a car. We had the family suite and there was an additional bed for a 5th person!
This place oozes charm and the link to the press of WW2 was palpable..
Host attended swiftly to our concerns!
No shower curtain
Ants had a party in our bathroom

This is a very special timepiece set among the most beautiful locations. The welcome from James is unparalleled in both friendliness and sincerity.
Accommodation was generous and bed extremely comfortable.
If like me, you are interested in WW2 history or perhaps if you want an authentic countryside chateau experience, come with little expectations and you will be charmed and delighted. I loved this place and hope that I may be able to return some day..
Having to leave.

The history of the house was wonderful. The location was out away from the crowd but only a few minutes from town and restaurants and shops. The Normandy sights were close by and the house was central to most of them. We enjoyed the food and the host was wonderful.
We really don't have any complaints. The house is quite old and so has an older home musty smell and older bathroom facilities. All of these things are expected for older homes.

It’s an old building and I could feel the weight of piled history just by opening the creaky window. The huge garden was well maintained and just strolling around there made me feel good.
One small double bed had a broken leg. But it’s fixed soon by the next night.

Breakfast was very good,. Host went to the Boulangerie every morning. Jam , cheeses and a pot of coffee. There was also a prtty good orange juice
The chateau desperately needed maintenance as did the grounds. Beds were not comfortable and the the bathroom was a challenge. There was only a hand held shower attached to the bath tap. No shower screen!

Continental breakfast did not disappoint; the host sat with us and regaled us with stories of the property's history, his own life, and tips on Omaha Beach and other areas; very accessible to all of Normandy's great features; the restaurant recommendations he made were some of the best food we had in France!
A shower curtain would have been nice, but we dealt with it by showering bathtub-style. The giant size of our room, the Orangerie, more than made up for it, as did the views. Very few things not to like!

Great property with a lot of history. They are close to the beaches of Normandy and we’re the press headquarters during the beginning days of the French front of WWII. A must stay for those who like history.

Fantastic, quiet place with this great “ climate “ of a country, and history. The Owner, and his family running this place perfectly, being very helpful in every matter You may have. Location is just wonderful- in the middle of beautiful north France village area, with fantastic garden to use by guests. There is a solid WiFi there too, and very nice breakfast service. If You look for high end fancy 5 star - this is not a place for You, but if You want to spend few days in the beautiful place with great people around You, and some “ wind “ of history- You will find yourself just right there. And yes, you may say rooms are old, floor cracks, and some renovations could be done better - but in this place all of that is simply irrelevant. We will come back for sure.

Owner was super sweet. My wife and 2 children ages 3 and 8 months stayed for 4 nights. It is a great location to all D-day sites. I really enjoyed my stay. My wife and I plan to visit France again in a few years and I look forward to going back. Owner was also super helpful with finding places to eat and visit.
I loved the entire stay! I have nothing negative to say.

A unique place to stay during your Normandy tour. The castle itself is full of history, having been the base for war photographers during the summer of 44. Magnificent location, very friendly and helpful owner, splendid rooms and premises, great breakfast with local products, it accounts to something much more than a hotel stay.
