About this farm stay rental
Lasclottes is a 19th century rural farmhouse, which has been traditionally renovated and luxuriously furnished with an eye for detail. Nestled in grounds of 5 acres, Lasclottes is approached via a private lane with no near neighbours and gently slopes down towards the river- tranquility surrounds the property.
Upstairs this spacious property has 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, which all boast original beams, oak floors and stone walls. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite facilities with showers and there is a generous size family bathroom with a shower and a bath that serves the other 2 bedrooms.
Downstairs there are 3 more large, beautifully furnished bedrooms and 2 large shower rooms, with good access.
In the original farmhouse there is a separate well equipped kitchen with a log burner, a snug area and a private enclosed garden, from the hallway there is access to the veranda, which looks across the swimming pool and down towards the river.
From the lounge you can access the second large kitchen/diner/sitting area. The kitchen includes everything for modern day living including an oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, large farmhouse table and chairs etc.
In the sitting area there are two comfy sofas, a large chair, coffee table, wireless radio/docking tower, English or French T.V. wifi, DVD player and an unbeatable view down towards the river. In the lounge there is a sofa and an armchair, coffee table and a television with English T.V. and an X Box for the children to play on.
There is an annex which is interlinked to the farmhouse which incorporates a bedroom, bathroom and snug, it has patio doors leading out onto the garden and looking down towards the river.
There is a 10m x 4m salt water pool, which is much healthier than a chlorine pool and very good for leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed, with not taste of salt. The games area is in the covered section of the large barn and includes table tennis, a pool table, football table, a rowing machine and a cycling machine.
The grounds are large, private and suitable for children, with a variety of fruit trees and shady areas. There is a patio with tables, chairs and a Plancha (similar to a BBQ, but it has a cast iron cooking griddle), there are also several areas to sit and relax.
You will find three large wooden pontoons and a cobble beach area on the river, one is for relaxing and enjoying the scenery towards the hilltop village of Penne d'Agenais and the second has been strategically placed for fishing, although it does make a very nice relaxing pontoon too, the third leads down to the river beach, where you can relax and feel at one with the river and wildlife.
For the cars there are 2 off road parking zones and an area to park under the trees to keep them cool.
Lasclottes is on the outskirts of St Sylvestre, a quaint riverside village which has a good selection of shops, bars, restaurant and a market twice a week. Across the bridge from St Sylvestre is the picturesque village of Penne D’Agenais, where the road winds up and around the hilltop to a 16th century Basilica, which is a stunning piece of architecture and the views from the gardens are breathtaking. The village of Penne is also renowned for art and there is usually an exhibition in the Mairie and sometimes the whole village takes part in displaying a variety of art works.
There is a boat company at Port de Penne, where they hire out boats and canoes from an hour to a whole day, there are places to stop along the river including a farm which sells local produce. There are also several bars, excellent restaurants and frequent music evenings, with eating and dancing on the menu.
For those who crave more entertainment, there is the larger, more vibrant town of Villeneuve 8kms away, which boasts an all day weekly market, shops, variety of bars, restaurants and music evenings, including a free weekly live band in the summer on a pontoon on the river Lot, there are also live jamming session evenings at O Bistro, which are great fun and very lively.
In the surrounding villages there are several swimming lakes, which are bordered by sandy beaches and many have restaurants/cafes.
Twenty minutes from the property is the large town of Agen which has excellent cycling/walking routes along the canal and over the viaduct with breathtaking views across the countryside and the Garonne river. Agen also has plenty of shopping, bars and restaurants.
The region is well known for wine tasting from the red and white wines in Cahors to the sweeter desert wines of Monbaziac. Plums are another speciality of the region and well worth tasting, especially the ones covered in chocolate!
The west coast of France is an hour and a half away, the route is very scenic and the Dune de Pyla (the biggest sand dune in Europe) lays just south of Biscarosse and is well worth a visit for the day.
It is also worth spending some time in Bordeaux, one of the most beautiful cities in France, catering for all tastes. Nobody could leave Bordeaux feeling disappointed.
For those that enjoy site seeing, there are an abundance of chateau’s, farms and gardens to explore and for the more active there are plenty of golf courses, fishing lakes and rivers, tennis courts and playing pétanque with the locals. For the cyclist there are designated cycle paths catering for all abilities and there is often organised cycling days for those who prefer to cycle in groups and maybe practice a bit of French.
To begin your perfect holiday with a touch of luxury a welcome pack containing local produce and wines will be waiting to greet you. Everything has been thought through to ensure that your holiday is full of happy and memorable times and you will surely want to return.

Lasclottes Was ideal for a three generation holiday. We ate almost every meal outside in the shade of the trees. The five children were rarely out of the pool. And the owners (who were located about 7 miles away) Were incredibly responsive and helpful. There is the added bonus of the Lot river at the end of their grounds those who like while swimming

Vacances tranquilles avec piscine
Belle propriété. Nous étions 11 personnes logées facilement. Équipements suffisants pour un grand groupe. Piscine agréable. Rivière avec ponton au bout du terrain.
Bon séjour en général.

Stunning river front property.
As a party of 4 adults we were looking forward to our 6 day visit to Lasclottes as the photos showed an idyllic place to get peace and quiet in a beautiful location. As we drew up in the car we were all taken aback at the tranquility of the setting, much more than any photograph can portray. Immediately we felt at home and the owners, Sally and Colin greeted us and showed us around. There was a lovely arrival package of goodies on the table. They themselves are thoughtful and informative people who are on hand if needed . This is a lovingly renovated farmhouse well planned and finished to a high standard. There is something for everybody with the walk to the river, the swimming pool and other extras. If like us you enjoy fresh croissant for breakfast the bakery is only five minutes away by car. The two towns of Saint sylvestre and villeneuve sur lot are nearby and have everything you need. It exceeded all expectations and yes we will definitely be coming back !
