superb overnight stay when travelling south from rotterdam

perfect overnight stop. Good parking, off road. Lovely room and a good meal. The surroundings were also good, with a nice short walk to a castle or down to the village for after dinner. Finally price absolutely superb for the quality of accommodation Thankyou

Ruhige schöne Lage

Tolle Lage direkt neben der Burg. Sehr schöne Gegend. Frühstück war alles da, allerdings gab es nur Aufbacksemmeln.

Een prima tussenstop halverwege onze reis naar en van Oostenrijk

Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd. Op weg naar de wintersport in Oostenrijk is dit een prima overnachtingsmogelijkheid. De standaardkamers zijn op zich gedateerd, maar de bedden zijn prima. Het restaurant heeft een eenvoudig menu, maar de kwaliteit van het eten is prima.

Deze opmerking geldt alleen voor deze keer. De vorige keer verliep alles prima. Wij kwamen om iets na half negen in de ontbijtzaal. Er zaten al mensen te wachten. Echter het ontbijtbuffet was nog niet aanwezig. Het duurde uiteindelijk tot negen uur tot er vanuit de keuken actie kwam. Daarna ging het snel. Voor deze onverwachte vertraging werd spontaan een korting van 10% op de overnachtingsprijs aangeboden.

Gutshof Colmberg, ein kleiner Geheimtipp von uns

Der Gutshof in Colmberg ist eine kleine Perle und wir haben ihn eher zufällig entdeckt. Nachdem wir in Rothenburg in der Vorweihnachtszeit keinerlei Unterkunft mehr bekommen haben, entschieden wir uns für diesen Gutshof und wir wurden sehr angenehm überrascht. Trotz des niedrigen Preises, fehlte es uns an nichts. Das gesamte Personal war stets freundlich und hilfsbereit und wir wurden immer mit einem herzlichem Lächeln begrüßt. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und auch das Abendessen im Restaurant des Gutshofes war richtig lecker. Wir wollten eigentlich in Rothenburg essen, aber nachdem wir am Abend der Anreise das Essen im Restaurant probiert hatten, entschieden wir uns spontan um. Nochmals ein großes Kompliment an die Küche. Dieser Gutshof ist eine kleine Perle und ein Geheimtipp von uns. Wir kommen gerne mal wieder.

Da gibt es für uns gar nichts, ein großes Lob an alle.

Komfortabel übernachten in idyllischer Lage

Die Lage vom Gutshof Colmberg ca. 100m entfernt, etwas unterhalb der Burg Colmberg gelegen ist idyllisch und ein Spaziergang zur Burg ist obligatorisch, da es eine fantastische Aussicht zu bestaunen gibt. Die Zimmer im Gutshof sind angenehm, zu empfehlen ist das 3-Bettzimmer im modernen Stil mit hoher Decke, schöner Beleuchtung und modernem Bad, der Aufpreis lohnt sich, da das Raumgefühl etwas ganz besonderes ist. Das Frühstück ist auch sehr gut, auf Anfrage bekommt man auch Spiegel- oder Rührei dazu. Hervorzuheben ist auch die gute Küche im Restaurant, mit gemütlichen Außentischen, wenn die Temp. es zulassen.

Während den drei Nächten ist uns nichts negatives aufgefallen.

A one night stay on our family road trip

Car parking was easy and free. Location was easy to achieve by a car. Clean and big rooms (we had two rooms), except bathroom was small. Food in the restaurant was available in the evening.

Very narrow selection on breakfast table. No gluten-free or dairy-free options.

Great location, friendly staff; could be even better with a few minor upgrades!

Staff were friendly, location was great 😃👍. Breakfast was delicious and served with care. The castle nearby really is a must see and only a short stroll up the hill. We booked for four adults and were given two rooms with a shared bathroom in-between, which was a great set-up. The rooms were a good size.

The separate single beds were not comfortable for my parents that slept in them. They said that the beds squeaked and felt like they may be more for kids. Full outside lights flood the rooms with light like from a floodlight at random times through the night, as all the outdoor lights are rigged to movement sensors. We would recommend either more subtle lighting rigged to the movement sensors or block out curtains to prevent guests from waking in the night.

Pleasant environment basic stay

The town is lovely, the castle nearby adds to the charm. The premises of the hotel are well kept and pleasant. Unfortunately, there was hunting happening in the vicinity of the hotel during our stay, therefore we could not take a walk in the surrounding woods.

The room was big and had everything one needs. Unfortunately, the beds were not the most comfortable and the bathroom had a funny smell. Food options for vegetarians not great, but maybe that’s typical for a small Bavarian town.

we had difficulties getting to the Hotel due to Road closures, but when finally arriving the greeting was great. The restaurant served a great dinner. The next morning we had a great Breakfast. This place is highly recommendable.

Very nice 'traditional-style' Atmosphere, Great Breakfast, Location is easily found and accessed with close proximity to Rothenburg+Highway/s, Lots of no-extra-cost Parking, Reasonably priced, Very nice people/family,

1) like in nearly ALL of Germany (Europe?) ... "worst pillows" anywhere: ZERO head & neck support (we've learned/figured out how to cope/improvise). 2) thin walls between rooms; we heard TV, conversation and movement from the next room
