Beautiful view across the Dornoch Firth from our bedroom window. The staff and owner made our stay incredibly relaxing and cooked up an amazing breakfast each morning. Room was modern with enough rustic Highland village thrown in! Thankyou.
4.8
everything but mostly the hospitality
the fact that we not booked one night.

The location was fantastic, the view from the breakfast room was lovely. Our room was very comfortable and our host was very friendly and helpful, providing various options for dining and leisure in the area.
This was a last-minute night away for us but an excellent choice. I only wish we had known about the local gala happening so that we could have visited earlier during the day.

The location is just stunning. Lovely welcome from our host. The room was lovely, very comfortable and with everything we needed. The views over the bay were wonderful from our room and the sunset was amazing.

Room was very spacious. Sadly we didn't have the sea view version but everything else was great.
Carol is very helpful and a great choice of food for breakfast.
Also enjoy the gallery shop for browsing and shopping.

Caledonian House was a very comfortable B&B, and the hostess Carol made us feel very at home. The room, though not spacious, was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Carol was eager to please, and her attention to detail made it a very pleasant stay in Portmahomick. Breakfast was delicious and the service was perfect.
The only thing that was the slightest bit annoying was the presence of so many seagulls on and around the property - they were a bit noisy at night. With a seaside location this is to be expected, and there's certainly nothing that could be done to change it.

Welcome by Carol was very pleasant en friendly. Room was clean, spacious and with very comfy bed. Very good coffee/tea facilties in the room. Bathroom was clean and lovely bathsoap!!
The noise of the seaguls. This is inevitable when staying at a coastal village, but the guls are being nourished by the owner and causes a very bad smell at the entrance of the B&B as well as dirty footpath and cars covered in bird droppings.

Lovely location. Accomodation first class and nothing seems too much trouble for owner. Excellent breakfast. Our second visit.
4.8
Quaint B&B in a stunning location - lovely room & friendly host: it’s off the beaten track though we would definitely return. Recommend also booking The Oyster-Catcher for evening meal.

It was all just fine.

Staff, location and facilities could not be faulted. Carol the owner treated us like long lost friends. An added bonus was the Gallery in the Guest House where you can purchase some excellent art and craft works by Carol and local artists.
Our stay could have been longer.

Everything, the location of the hotel was beautiful. The room very comfortable and well appointed, there were lots of little touches like fresh milk, good coffee, it was beautifully decorated. Claire our host was amazing, very friendly and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was great and Claire had gone to a lot of trouble to provide vegetarian alternatives for our cooked breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer.
Nothing.

It was really beautiful, the host was super nice and everything looked really clean.
Nothing, but just remember when you’re going to check if the pub is open that night and be prepared to drive to the nearest city for dinner.

Comfortable room, very large bed. Excellent host (Carol) who explained everything very clearly. Excellent cooked Highland breakfast with all the trimmings. Lovel location right on beach.
Only wifi, a bit weak signal in our room, but that was being upgraded very soon.

Everything. Portmahomack is a remote location in scotland on the East Coast. The Caledonian B&B is along the sea front of the small resort. There is a pub, a restaurant and a small shop. The Castle Inn pub is where we ate tea, menu was a little limited but lovely. The Caledionian was fab value for money Carol the host was lovely and welcoming. The rooms were clean and very spacious. Ours had a sea view which was just stunning. Breakfast options were varied and the full Scottish breakfast was delicious. There is also a little gallery which sells art pieces attached to the B&B. Fab little gem in a beautiful location. Highly recommend!
