About this apartment rental

You can relax in a safe neighborhood on a quiet street about 5 minutes from downtown Hendersonville. Come to explore our beautiful mountains, lakes and waterfalls. No matter the season, there’s so much to see and do. You will love our charming, historic town with its unique shops and great restaurants.

The apartment is quiet and cozy. The queen-size bed has a very comfortable memory foam mattress. The kitchen has new countertops and is fully equipped. You will have your own totally private patio area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the cardinals and hummingbirds in the rock garden. You will probably see our white squirrels and maybe some deer in the back yard. Enjoy a glass of wine by the firepit on the patio in the evening. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer and you will appreciate the extra half-bath.

This non-smoking apartment is pet-free and fragrance-free for the benefit of those who have allergies. I operated a cleaning service and I personally give the apartment a thorough cleaning and disinfecting after each guest. I am very fussy about keeping it clean and tidy.

This cozy apartment was originally a mother-in-law apartment attached to the main house, where we live. The apartment has a completely separate entrance for your privacy and since I live on site, if you need anything, you can just call, text or ring the bell. But don't worry - you won't hear us and we won't hear you. I'm in and out - quiet as a mouse . . .

My stay at Villa Marino by far exceeded my expectations. Upon arriving, we were met with a welcome basket complete with homemade cookies and a hand-written note from Maria, which was a really nice touch. As described, this site is set up with everything you need. There's even a selection of board and card games, which are a great way to unwind, disconnect from social media and connect with loved ones or friends. The location of Villa Marino is about as perfect as you can get if you're looking for a quiet getaway to unwind. Nature moments are abundant and you may even spot a white squirrel or two! If I have to be super nitpicky, I would love to see a coffee bean grinder included in the kitchen for those coffee connoiseurs who love to prepare fresh coffee rather than brew from already ground coffee. Again, that's just a wish as I know I'll be booking here again!

What you see is what you get. I have no complaints about this property at all. Very clean, and very private. I was concerned about it being attached to Maria’s home. My Mother and I never heard anything. I would stay here again. I am just sorry our trip was so quick because there is so much in the area to visit.

We had a lovely stay! It’s such a beautiful setting and even though part of a larger home, it was very quiet and felt like we had our own private place. The bed was comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was a plus! The snack basket was a wonderful extra!

Marie was a spectacular host - so sweet and helpful. The bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked for easy cooking. Our only complaint was lighting was dim for knitting…maybe consider 3 way bulbs for knitters, readers, crossword puzzlers!

Maria was a great host. We were met with homemade cookies and treats which won my kids over right away. The house is easy to get to and very close to downtown Hendersonville. Everything was clean and well labeled. Instructions were clear. She had beautiful flowers in the back yard. Overall a great stay and we would stay again! We had kids with us and it worked great for a quick weekend trip where we were mostly out and about. She even had kid games which we played.

This is such a charming place. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed for the weekend. It is also situated very close to downtown for easy access to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, there is a beautiful flower garden that attracts all kinds of wildlife that are fun to watch. We would stay here again!

We have stayed at this property 3 different times and each stay was lovely. The property is clean, functional, has everything you need. The owner takes extra care to make sure your stay is excellent. We have been greeted with homemade cookies which were delicious. The scenery around the property is beautiful. Unfortunately each time we have visited we have not been able to take advantage of the beautiful serene surroundings due to our schedule. On a very positive exciting note as I was making coffee the first morning and looked out the window I got to watch a white squirrel just hanging out for a few minutes!!! I recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

In town visiting parents at nearby retirement community and needed a place to stay for a long weekend. Hotel options were OK but this villa option blew those away. Maria extremely gracious and available via phone or text. Had one minor paper supply issue and was resolved within minutes. Villa attached to main house but never once heard anything between walls or felt that we had to keep our voices down. Will 100% stay here next time. Loved the homemade cookies!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Marino and plan to be back! Maria has the villa stocked with all the essentials plus some thoughtful extras. The layout of the place made the most out of the square footage and the 1.5 baths really made the stay easy for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children). The outdoor patio was a great and we can’t wait to visit in the late spring/early summer to enjoy the beautiful landscaping!!

Location was good. 30 minutes to Biltmore. 20 minutes to Jump off rock. 25 minutes to apple farms. 35 minutes to Lake Lure. 15 minutes to downtown Hendersonville. Close to lots of things to do. Nice street to take a walk on. Enjoyed the deer in yard and birds. Easy entry for walker or wheelchair (but must be able to transfer). Quiet… could not hear owners.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property! The host was obviously experienced--there was coffee and snacks (homemade cookies) which was perfect since we arrived late, and we were able to have enough for that evening and the following morning. The place is warmly and adorably decorated--great master bedroom, especially, with a sitting area. Even through the apartment is attached to a house, there was plenty of privacy, with a beautiful secluded porch area. The property was minutes from downtown and near most attractions. I also greatly appreciated a reasonable check-out--I don't mind cleaning up a bit before leaving, but I've stayed at VRBOS in which we've had to practice clean and launder the entire place before leaving, and even thought there was some expectations to clean up a bit, they completely reasonable and not overwhelming. Apartment was very clean upon arrival and we felt at home right away!

My wife Denise and I stayed at Villa Marino while attending a wedding close by. We could not be happier with our choice. Maria and her mother's home was better than shown. You can't smell the fresh air or hear the birds singing or watch the hummingbirds dance from a picture. So many flowers and plants in bloom including a beautiful stretch of roses as you walked to the entrance. At night the lanterns gave the gardens a magical glow that was so relaxing. Inside was just as shown, actually a bit bigger. The bedroom was very comfortable, and we could keep the curtains pulled back to bring the surroundings inside since the property is very private. I would absolutely stay here again when in the area. Close to Hendersonville (shout out to McFarlan Bakery!!!), and Asheville as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thank you for letting us come home each day we were there.

We needed a girl's weekend away, this was a perfect place for us to relax! The apartment had everything we needed for the extended weekend, even an extra bathroom. The host was amazing, fresh cookies and extras waiting at our arrival. Comfortable bed, appliances available, and the entire area was spotless. Outside porch beautiful with lovely garden area. We will definitely return.

Awesome property for a nice quiet stay, was there for 3 weeks working in the area. Place was extremely accommodating. Maria, the host, is so nice and truly cares about your stay and makes sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. Awesome appliances and close to everything but tucked away to give you a secluded feel. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It's even nicer that the photos show. When staying in an area near mountains, I'm always worried that the location will have some difficult roads to get there. That's not the case here. It was very easy to get to, but still felt quiet and private. There is a short paved walk from the parking area to the door of the property. I'm glad I had my rolling suitcase. We were worried at first that the bed seemed rather firm. It proved to be very comfortable. We both slept great. We loved the little extras. There was a nice selection of treats (nuts, M&Ms, crackers) and games. We had fun playing Scrabble on our last night. Best of all, the host, Maria, gave us homemade cookies and carrot cake! What a special treat!! If you are able, I recommend enjoying the sunrise from the private patio (the door outside the living room area). Beautiful!

The cozy rental Villa Marino -Escape to the Mountains is located in a private quiet hillside neighborhood with easy access to Asheville's attractions. We arrived early and our hostess Maria offered early no contact entry, she left a nice welcome note and a goodie bag containing sweet treats and her aunt's homemade apple cake, a perfect touch after a long car ride through the mountains. We found generous storage in the bedroom and hangers in the closet, detergents for laundry and dishes, personal groming toiletries, and a note requesting guests refrain from smoking and using sented room fresheners in the apartment. Perfect for us. We were visiting our daughters and grandchildren, we planned to make the turkey for Thanksgiving in the oven but we had smoked our turkeys for 40 years in a Weber Kettle and at best we were unsure how that would work. As we pulled in the driveway we noticed Maria had a Weber Kettle, we asked if we could use it, she generously agreed and we had our traditional smoked turkey for Thanksgiving! There's a quiet patio surrounded by gardens and trees outside the rental with a fire pit it's a wonderful place to relax after a long day hiking or sightseeing in Asheville! We enjoyed our stay at Villa Marino - Escape to the Mountains and plan to reserve the apartment for our next visit to Asheville!

This immaculately clean apartment in a quiet setting with a kitchen is in a great location to explore Hendersonville, Asheville, and the surrounding area. Maria's communication is great. She was very understanding and accommodating when a last minute medical emergency reruired us to change our visit date. We also enjoyed the lovely patio garden and fire pit area. We will definite use this location when visiting the area in the future!

The apartment is situated on a quiet street. It is spacious, with two outside area, one of which is completely private. It is fully equipped and well furnished. It was clean and a bag of tasty goodies waited for me on the dining table when I arrived. The land lady is pleasant and always ready to help or answer a question. It is hard to imagine a more restful place than this one.

The home was extremely clean, entirely equipped, and tastefully decorated. The patio comes with a comfortable swing, impressive fire pit and a unique garden with beautiful flowers and many singing birds. And those fireflies in the evening were a special treat! The property owners are very kind, considerate and generous...an absolute joy! The home is ideally located, allowing easy access to town for dining out or shopping without compromising the desire for a quiet stay in the mountains. A perfect vacation home!! Highly recommended!!!
