THE YELLOW HOUSE
The Yellow House is a haven of peace and tranquillity in the heart of rural Italy, it is secluded, hidden in a valley and surrounded by mature trees and beautiful views. The villa itself is elegant and comfortable and perfect for self-catering holidays for family groups. Happy days can be spent enjoying the large private pool, playing badminton or bocce on our outdoor court, exploring the 10 acres of land and fishing in the stream. On rainy days you can play table tennis, table football and pool, or cards on our card table. There are lots of board games, a small library and for the little ones, a dolls house.
SURROUNDING LANDSCAPE
The large private swimming pool (5m x 15m) is situated on the side of a hill and below is the winding valley. The pool is secluded and peaceful. Around the perimeter of the pool is a mature rosemary bush providing a beautiful perfume in the evenings and fresh herbs for cooking. The marble patio is spacious with plenty of room for the 8 sun loungers. In the garden there are 3 large garden tables and outside seating for 20 people. There is a lantern in the oak tree which provides the perfect light for intimate suppers or large parties in the evening. There is a large pizza oven which is great fun to use for cooking pizzas, joints of meat etc. The garden is informal. and the area around the house has space to park several cars. There is plenty of land to explore and a stream at the end of the bottom field from where it is possible to fish for trout. We have one neighbour but neither house is overlooked.
THE TOWN OF CIVITELLA D’AGLIANO
Half a mile from the house is our local supermarket. One mile from the house is the medieval town of Civitella d'Agliano whose ancient cobbled streets wind around well preserved dwellings perched on a hill with beautiful views of the valley. Close to the town square is a church, several shops, three bars, a restaurant and a pizzeria, there is also wide variety of very good restaurants within driving distance of which cater for all needs including families.

Beautiful house and surroundings. The best pool ever!
5.0 / 5.0
Very, very occasionally the Fairy Godmother taps you on the shoulder and says OK now it's your turn to stay at a really magical place. The Yellow House, for us, was that magical place. We have just returned after a 3 week stay in July / August. Every glowing review you read about this Villa (including mine), still doesn't communicate what a great place this is. The location of the Villa is near the top of (and looks over) a beautiful valley. The villa is surrounded by mature trees, the oldest one is at the front of the house and is a magnificent Oak tree, under which is set a very large stone table for Family meals. The large pool is the best I have experienced on any holiday, the games room is amazing. I was concerned about the lack of air con, Emma assured me that it would not be a problem - she was right. All you have to do is close the windows and shutters during the day and open them at night. The fitted mosquito screens were perfect. We lay in bed looking through the moonlit leaves of the Oak tree. The weather was fantastic with temperatures up to 39c but there was always the pool to jump into and the Villa was always cool to walk into. There are no half measures with the Yellow House ALL of the facilities were exactly as described (expect a full size wood fired Pizza Oven). The information folder that Emma has compiled for Guests re facilities, things to see, places to go, places to eat etc is the best I have ever seen.We will 100% be returning to the Yellow House.

We stayed at the Yellow House for two weeks in July. The setting was breathtaking and the pool and surrounding area was perfect for our party of 5. The house itself was beautiful, spacious, clean, really well equipped and allowed us the secluded and restful trip we were looking for. We loved every minute and hope to return again at some point soon.

All all just love the House, it fits all our needs and ticks all the boxes
The area is central to great places to visit, The only thing wrong we only had a week stay, will return again.

Our 3rd visit and as usual suits our needs perfectly.
Lovely large pool with good terrace and sun loungers.
Plently of games to keep the more energetic busy, and fun bbq, pizza oven for chefs to experiment with.
We had every meal outside and the extra fans were appreciated by some. Still no toaster but you can slowly grill bread in oven for those who need it.
The track was a bit more rivited after a storm but we are used to it now. Highlights were Mille Miglia passing throgh Orvieto and flower festival in Bolsena.
May make it back next year, dependent on arrival of grandchildren. Thanks as usual Emma

We've just returned from a month at the Yellow House. The exterior had just been painted as had the small living room. All of the mosquito screens were new and fresh. The house was comfortable, enjoyable, and perfect for us. We can't wait to return.

Having stayed at the Yellow House for many years, we found the house to be still well appointed and comfortable, the grounds to be beautiful, and the pool wonderful. The town is quaint and charming filled with lovely and generous people. Looking forward to next time!

The yellow house holds a special place in my family's heart and going back there this summer after 15years (!!) Was nothing short of incredible, it was exactly as we remembered it with a few upgrades and the beautiful pool over looking the valley below was as stunning as it was before.
The local village had enough food and drink to keep us going and there were multiple things to do within a 30/40min drive which kept us occupied the whole week, would definitely recommend

It's our third time staying at The Yellow House in the past 7 years. We are fortunate to have traveled around the world on family holidays in-between visits but we always come back.
The house is just perfect. Incremental (and substantial some years) changes make a notable difference each visit.
Cristina is always brilliant and on hand to welcome us. For first timers, you may need to follow Cristina from the town center to find the house. When you do though...WOW. yes it's Yellow. Huge. Beautiful inside and out and the pool is exceptional.
The additional extension built a few years ago made a huge difference and is where the family would lounge and play pool/table tennis/ table football.
Broadband has kicked up a notch which helped the kids give us peace for a bit after dinner!
The kitchen and dining area were much used and don't forget the pizza oven! We didn't make the most of it this year but I'm sure we will when we return.
I have every intention on returning to Italy eventually and staying at the Yellow House has played a part in this decision.
The locals are great. We always try a little Italian but most speak better English. Ice creams, coffees etc are a 15 minute walk from the house.
Bagnoregio is a drive I can do with my eyes closed these days (a really good drive for those that are into that sort of thing!)
Again, supermarket, gelato and many cafes are awesome and it felt like we visited daily.
Civita di bagnoregio (dying city) is a must visit!

We have the most amazing 2 weeks in Italy.
Cristina and Emma were both so helpful whenever we had a question. The house was even better than I remembered, the pool was out of this world. We had the most amazing time. Thank you!!

Third visit and never fails to live up to our expectations. Spacious villa with excellent swimming pool. Table tennis, pool table and table football. Local village very quiet but good supermarket and pizza take-away. A great get-away for those looking for relaxation in rural Italy

The house is lovely and big. The pool size is an amazing size and the views are fabulous. If you want to go out and about a car is needed. There are so many lovely places to visit around Civitella D’Agliano.
The communication we had before and when we were at the villa was very much appreciated. Lovely place to stay

Overlooking a tranquil valley, the Yellow House sits perched on a verdant hillside. By day, the sun beats down on a refreshing salt water swimming pool, while after dark, nightingales compete with owls in the trees and porcupines and wild boar rustle in the undergrowth. Inside, the stone floors of the house keep the bedrooms, an ample kitchen and a well equipped games room cool. And if you venture up the track, you have the delights of the
unspoiled hilltop town of Civitella d'Agliano at your disposal.

Once again we had a great stay at the Yellow house (this was my 12th visit)
It’s got everything, quietness for total relaxation,
Central to countless places of interest (we are still finding new places to visit)
The people in the village are so friendly. I truly can not find any negatives.
If you thinking of booking a perfect holiday well The Yellow House will be my first chose.

Just a great place to be. Beautiful old farmhouse with ample accommodation for our party of 7. We only used the double rooms. The beds were large and comfy. House suitable for any weather. We had some stormy weather but enjoyed some time indoors with pool table etc. Pool was great. Nice and big. Plenty of room for volleyball! We appreciated the salt water rather than chlorine. Lovely outlook.

We were a group of 6 friends staying at the Yellow House. Good location and great to be able to walk to the village with supermarket and cafes. Enjoyed the wine tasting and visit to the cellars. Had days out in Todi, Montepulciano and Orvieto and loved the lakes nearby inc Bolsena. House was good, great pool. Weather was very hot and we were hiding in the shade the middle of the day. Be good to have some more comfy chairs outside in the shade under the tree or for the evening,. And maybe consider having an electric kettle and toaster. We had a great trip.

Our family of 6 adults and 4 children ranging from 3 to 13 had a great week living in the Yellow House… the Pool, the pool table, the views, the BBQ… amazing.
The 3 stories of stairs was a killer in the heat if you are susceptible to forgetting things though!

Large property in beautiful surroundings
We have been several times before but first time since extension. This is beautiful although we kept trying to exit the old door now a window!!
It was extremely hot unusually both indoors and out! We have never felt the need for a/c before.
There is very little shade at the pool area which could perhaps be improved?
As always we congregated under the tree in the evenings such a special spot!
Thanks to Cristina and Emma for all they do to ensure a relaxing holiday.

Family 60th birthday bash
The yellow house is a very comfortable place to stay for 7vadults and one baby. There's plenty of space for everyone to eat/cook/play games together. The house has been tastefully restored and has a lovely view and extensive garden. Despite being there in October we were still able to swim in the pool most days. We spent a few days visiting local towns and tried the wine tasting in the village (which was excellent 😊). Would love to go back.

Third stay at Yellow House
This property is always inviting, comfortable, and accommodating. Cristina is exceedingly helpful in making the stay restful and relaxing. We love walking to the little village enjoying the people and all that the community has to offer. The house is centrally located for easy transportation to all areas of central Italy. We love it.

Fantastic house and location
We had a really lovely week at the Yellow House. We've stayed in many Italian villas and this one was perfect for us both inside and out. Great location, particularly since we were not intending to go far due to Covid restrictions. Very private and picturesque with an excellent pool and lots of thoughtful additions such as the games room. The welcome basket of food was much appreciated after a long journey. We are looking forward to returning here at some point, which is most unusual for us as we always like to go somewhere new. Many thanks to Emma and Cristina.

Thoroughly Enjoyed.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at the yellow house. The facilities in the house were excellent for a large group with everything you could wish for to keep you entertained. The kids and adults loved the ping pong, pool table, table football and of course the gorgeous swimming pool. We did not really venture out much beyond the house except to the lake for one day which we would recommend and to the local town which had a market on Friday selling fresh fish, meat and cheeses. I would highly recommend this property.

Another great stay
This time we spent the month of September at the Yellow House. Again, it’s beautifully appointed and comfortable, especially for those who like to cook. The pizza oven was perfect this year. Both the inside and outside areas are enjoyable. We love to walk to the village everyday where the people are warm and friendly.

July 2019
We had a great family holiday here for a week with three teenagers so the games room was well used as was the large pool. We had v hot weather but managed to keep the house cool by closing the shutters during the day. We ate outside in the evenings under the oak tree and even managed to get some pizza dough from the local shops and they were a great success in the pizza oven. Great place to come and relax.

My stay at The Yellow House, Viterbo, Lazio, Italy
Once again a fantastic holiday at The Yellow House, the house is so well located that visits to places of interests can be easily made in all directions.
This holiday we packed in at lease one outing a day starting on the Sunday (our first full day) we all walked to the local Church in the village of Civitella d' Agliano then after Mass a refreshing cold drink at the Town square Bar followed by a ice cream, then a stroll around the back streets of this beautiful medieval village and a slow walk back home and into the pool and a home made pizza cooked in the pizza oven
On Monday, we visited a town called Todi again a beautiful medieval Town with quaint little shop and cobbled streets.
On Tuesday, we visited the Market town of Bolsena and a swim in the fresh water lake.
On Wednesday we visited the town of Viterbo again a beautiful medieval Town with quaint little shop and cobbled streets. with lots of Bars and Restaurants.
On Thursday we visited the hill top town of Civitella del Largo, (If you don't go anywhere you must visit here it's absolutely fabulous), with the village views at 1400 ft high over looking the Italian county side.
On Friday we visited the local village of San Mechele
All above location are within half hour to an hour drives from The Yellow House so plenty of free time to enjoy the Pool and other amenities that it offers.
If you won't to see Italy at its best then you need to visit The Yellow House. I have already booked for 2020.

The Yellow House
The Yellow House was a beautiful Italian Villa, in a beautiful location. The views were lovely, the house is large and spacious and well laid out. The pool tables, football table and table tennis are a great addition and as the weather was changeable while we were there used a lot. The local village is about a 15 minute walk, there is a great pizza take away there and some nice coffee and gelato but not much else. We also saw hundreds of baby frogs walking to the village much to our childrens delight. Is a great villa in a lovely location, the pool is rather brisk though!

If you love Italy you will love The Yellow House.
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and at once we all felt relaxed from the peacefulness and views from The Yellow House. On Sunday after attending the local Church and tasting the local ice creams at the insomnia bar (well recommend) we resisted in the house lounge and gardens. The rest of the week trips / itinerary for Italy holiday was 🇮🇹.
Monday we did Assissi, by way of Peruga.
Tuesday was Bolzena Market, then around lake to, Capodimonte (not China place but a lovely place to visit) then around the rest of lake to Montefiscone before home. and home made pizza Wednesday went to Collestatte Piano (to view Cascata della Marmore waterfall) near Terni 🇮🇹. Then home for a bar b q
Thursday and Friday stayed at home.
The sun was shining and the pool was to inviting.
Saturday sadly we left for home BUT in 6 weeks time we are going back to The Yellow House.
Thank you to the Management team who visited and made us so welcome.

Holiday with so many great memeries
This holiday at The Yellow House must go down as one of the best holidays I have ever had. I and my entire family totaling 12 (7 granchildren and 5 adults) started our holiday the minute we arrived. The granchilred never stopped playing the hole time we were there, using the large pool and bowls court during the day and the pool table, table tenis, table top football inside at night. The Yellow House copes well with both ends of the age groups at the same time, as my children (the adults) always found a quite place to read.
My eldest granchild age 17 commented in the visitors book the house and the holiday was “COOL” (that equivalent to a 5 stars review)
To the House Owner and Management team Thank you for making memories which will last a life time for my wife, my children and grandchildren. I will be booking again in 2019

Perfect place to relax
What can I say. Heaven.
It's our second stay (our first 2 years ago) and I will no doubt be back in the next few years (for the sake of variety!)
Pool is perfect and where my wife and our 2 young children spent most of our days. The weather was glorious (minus 2 hours of rain this week)
Cristina was on hand to assist with any enquiries and was happy to communicate via email.
The house itself is an improvement on when we last stayed. The new extension/living room was much more spacious and the addition of the pool table was excellent.
For me the only way it could be improved is with a TV in the living room for streaming purposes. Though that may distract you from the beautiful surroundings.
Wonderful

Amazing holiday villa gets even better!
Another peaceful and relaxing stay at The Yellow House!
The best holiday rental we have ever stayed in - this was our second holiday here.
The extension to the house is amazing - our 3 teenagers loved the new games room with pool, table tennis and football. We loved the new lounge with big doors opening onto the garden. Making pizza in the pizza oven/ outdoor kitchen was really fun too!
We love the simple, but spacious bedrooms with lots of bathrooms, as well as the fantastic pool area.
We are sad to leave and can't wait to come back.....

The Yellow House, the area and the local town’s people deserves a 7 star rating.
The Yellow House well deserves the 5 star rating and with its latest improvements in my opinion 5 stars is not enough,
The Management team have really thought of everything to cover all ages and weather by adding a hole new wing to the House creating a relaxing lounge with glass patio door and a games room with a pool table, table tennis and table top football.
The Yellow House is perfectly located to visit numerous places of interest, this year we visited the Monster Park at Bomarzo which is only 40 mins away and well worth the visit also we visited the water falls of Casacata delle Marmite in Terni absolutely fantastic.
If anyone wanted to see Italy at its best then The Yellow House is a great place to start.
