Hector's House and Hector himself are both wonderful. Hector is a true gentlemen and it was an absolute pleasure to stay at this well equipped and amazing villa. We had a great holiday and we very much hope to return soon.

Another fabulous stay at Hector's House
Once again we had a glorious three weeks at Hector's House. His hospitality and welcome is second to none. Everything was done to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and I cannot recommend this villa highly enough

Memorable stay
This is the second year we have stayed for three weeks at Hectors House, and the sixth consecutive year we have come back. We have been visiting Greek islands and staying in villas for many years, but when we found Hectors House we knew we would keep coming back. Hector's hospitality is second to none, the villa is equipped with everything guests might need (and more), the 11m pool is spotlessly clean, the large marble area surrounding the pool is attractive with lots of space to sit in the sun or shade. There is also a large covered area across almost the full width of the property. We used the outside kitchen every day (except the two days when we had huge thunderstorms!). This kitchen is also fully equipped including dishwasher, and for much of our three weeks we came inside only to shower and sleep. We always make plans to venture far and wide, but each year these plans are largely deferred because we love being at Hectors House so much!
The village of Agia Efimia was more crowded at the end of August than we have known in previous years, but we always managed to get a table at our two favourite Tavernas, Paradise Beach and The Pergola. We now support local business by hiring our car from Nikos at Star Villas, who brings the car to the airport to meet us.
Overall, we cannot recommend a stay at Hectors House highly enough, and we very much look forward to our future visits

Wonderful villa
I've stayed in many holiday villas over the years but have to rate Hectors house up there with the very best. Quite simply every thing you could want has been thought of and provided. Kitchen supplies, pool supplies, beach supplies, you name it and it's there. The beds are very comfortable. Hector is charming and was readily available to sort out a small glitch with the power supply when it occurred. The pool is great and quite large. It's a little out of town so you do need a car but we did walk in to Agia Efemia once which was quite pleasant and taxis are readily available.
We had a tremendous stay and I would happily recommend the villa to others.

Everything we needed!
We had read some good reviews about Hectors House and to our delight they all proved to be true! Hectors House certainly has the 'wow' factor when you walk in and the arrival pack and reception from Hector himself was most welcome! From the simple things through to the finer details, the facilities and support are second to none.

A wonderful find
We recently stayed at Hectors House with our own children with ages ranges 8 to 20 years plus the eldest son’s girlfriend. We all had an absolutely wonderful time.
The booking process was very easy and pleasant helped by Hectors sister Vicky who was very efficient kind and helpful.
We had such a pleasant surprise on arrival being greeted by Hector himself and shown around.
Everything was just superb from the well equipped kitchen to large fridge and freezer , with a very generous welcome pack kindly thought about so we didn't have to rush out.
The whole villa is luxuriously equipped and extremely well designed and thought out from the furniture to the lighting, good wi fi and superb sound system which extends outside enable our teenage contingent to stream music outside from the laptop provided.
The pool is wonderful and has an easy entry for younger, but has a great deep end.
There is an outside BBQ and kitchen area covered with fridge and crockery, utensils etc, so one can cook and eat outside, listening to music, with wonderful views around. If cooking in the evening there is a very clever atmospheric lighting system. Within this area there is a sheltered corner to sit and chill in some shade in the daytime or sit and talk in the evening.
There was enough space for us all to both be together and also to have some space and privacy if we wanted. When we ran out of BBQ gas it was replaced straight away, Hectors other sister helping out. All kept spotless by possibly another family member. All very friendly and kind.
The place is completely private not overlooked, and has a lovely grassed garden as well.
The upstairs bedroom has its own en suite and small kitchenette area which was superb as my wife and I could get up before all the kids were up and have a relaxed cup of coffee on the veranda overlooking the sea and mountains as the sun came up.
A great find. We will be back. Thank you.
I cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay.

A little piece of heaven
This was the fourth year we have stayed in Agia Efimia, and the third time back at Hector's House.
Our welcome, as always, was warm and generous, with enough food in the 'welcome' pack to keep us going for several days without needing to shop except for bread. Hector proudly showed us the improvements he has made to the outside kitchen since we were there in 2012, including a two burner stove in addition to the barbecue, and a dishwasher. These things make a big difference, and resulted in me hardly using the indoor kitchen at all - we lived outside and only went in to shower and sleep!
The swimming pool was as sparkling and clean as ever, the pool surrounds and garden look great, the inside accommodation comfortable and really well equipped.
In terms of location, as long as you hire a car, Hector's House is an ideal base to visit anywhere on the island. Myrtos Beach is only 5 miles away, and all the other 'must see' places are within an hour's drive. The village itself is charming, with lots of different tavernas to choose from, a couple of gift shops, supermarkets, bread shops and butchers. Boat and car hire are both available in the village.
In short, we cannot recommend Hector's House highly enough, either for couples like us, or for families. The swimming pool has a safe, shallow swimming area for young children, and there is plenty of outside furniture for lounging on.
Needless to say we have already booked to go back next year for a fourth visit!

Hector's House
There are lots of positive things to say about Hector's House. Firstly, it is situated in a great area with quiet and peaceful surroundings and yet conveniently located to travel to all parts of the island. The local town is only a 5 minute drive and has some fantastic restaurants.
Hector, the owner, was very charming, welcoming and remained friendly and helpful throughout our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for Hector and the two minor problems we had were sorted out quickly and efficiently by Hector himself. Hector genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay at the villa and done all he could to ensure your stay was memorable, but without being intrusive.
Hector's House provides all the comforts of home that you could possibly require making it a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The two bedrooms in the main part of the villa were excellent, with lovely walk-in wardrobes and very spacious showers. The outdoor area is fantastic and could not be made more comfortable if you tried, but could benefit from an outside shower area.
On the slightly negative side, the general interior of the villa is a little dated d?cor wise and would benefit from some modernisation. However, this had very little effect on our holiday as we spent the majority of our time at the villa in the outside area.
The main problem we found with Hector's House was the attic bedroom. Although it was very spacious, the ceiling and the beams are far too low in parts which resulted in lots of bumped heads and back-ache from continuously having to crouch down. The same problem, of course, applies to the attic bathroom.
However, all things considered, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hector's House with the positives far outweighing the negatives. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this villa an 8.

GREEK BLISS
Invited by my sister who had rented 'Hectors House' I had no idea what to expect, Wow!
Our first impressions were a sheer delight, and hector was there to greet us and had even put the kettle on.
After a brief introduction, and wishing us a good holiday he left us to settle in.
On the 2nd day a local manager call round to make sure everything was ok. we requested pool towels, one call to hector and we were shown where to find them and left to help ourselves.
I felt as though I was in someone's home, and a guest not a visitor everything was provided and I mean everthing...........This home was welcoming spotlessly clean, beautiful pool and gardens to relax in, wood for the fire, (in March the evenings do cool down).
Then double it, for there is a complete outside set of lounging furniture and poolside kitchen we ate there a number of times, a great social area.
Its about a 15minute walk down to the small village slight incline but it has cafes bakery shops everything you need it was quiet in march but then we didn't mind that, the season usually kicks in after the Greek Easter.
The Pool is cold especially at that time of the year, having said that I did swim every morning because it was so gorgeous.
The goats that wander down into the field behind the house are an added novelty, they are the only noisy neighbours you will come across!
We only had a short four day stay but it was real quality time, and I have booked to go back September 2014.
We felt you do need a car in Kefalonia............Enjoy
