Geelong Short Stays manage numerous apartments, Units & homes in the region and have renovated and fit out the apartment on the basis of this experience. Easy to look after, clean and light, energy efficient. Quieter than our CBD properties and with a little back yard.
Located in suburban Belmont just 200 metres off High Street, - with Coles and Aldi, Cafes, Winebars & specialty shops. The Belmont Hotel (Pub) is 162 metres, there is Malay, India and Chinese restaurants as well as pizza and pasta.
Deakin University has two Geelong Campus - Waurn Ponds 8 kilometres south west (about 10 minutes drive) - The Waterfront Campus is closer - less than 5 kilometres along High St & Moorabool Street (again about 10 - 12 Minutes).
Kardinia Park [Swimming Pool & Football Ground] is within walking distance across the River, or a 5 minute drive. Stay and see the "Cats" win (or not).
The River and Boatsheds are just 5 minutes walk so a perfect stay for school Rowing stays.
Mt Duneed Estate - both winery and concert venue {recently Fleetwood Mac and Elton John} is just past the Waurn Ponds Campus so 12 - 15 minutes away.
AIRSHOW - each Avalon Airshow our properties are booked earlier and earlier - this property can accommodate 4 adults (in separate beds - if arranged) and with the adjacent property we can manage 8 adults across two joining properties.

When enquiringly about longer stays please remember when calculating costs that you will have no utilities bills and the unit is fully furnished. (obviously!! but sometimes inquiries compare my sites to an annual rental of an empty flat and forget their Electricity and Gas bills).
Bookings for 1 person for multi weeks can be lower than displayed rates.
regular mid week bookings are met with discounts. (regular is more than 2 x 3 night stay!!)
Belmont is across the River from Geelong proper, Geelong is 1 hour from Melbourne by car or train to South Geelong Station.

I message this host to enquire about reservation and was sent a booking request which I accepted.
Host then asked for additional money upon check-in to which I declined.
I was then privately message and threatened and abused by the host John and his friend Nick I was told that I was crazy psycho stupid and then we're gonna call child services as I was desperate this continued on for several hours under no circumstances state this property or have anything to do with this host

Close to shops and great walks on the Barwon.

Garden back and front could do with a lot of maintenance. The unit could do with some detail in regards to vacuuming under beds.

We were dissapointed in the property due to minor details that resulted in our 3 star rating.
Firstly the back yard was very overgrown with Weeds and Spider Webs all over external door way and walls..Not sure if any cleaning.has been done for weeks out there..Very unacceptable..(took photos if u need to show your cleaners) there was also cobwebs in the bed room area and a hair was in the sheets..
The rangehood lights dont work so cooking in dark was a bit painful.the sink tap is loose and faulty.front security door doesn't lock..either...The rubbish bins were overfull ..on arrival..internally the house was clean and updated..which was a positive..location is good..these issues would have been easy to up keep .and fix...and your rating would.have been 5 out of 5..not to be.. cheers..

Very central to every place I had to visit. Nice quiet area.

The apartment was as described.
My only issue was that I was required to go to the city and collect the keys.
On exit I also had to specifically drive to the city to return them.
The experience would have been much better if there was a locked key box at the site to retrieve and return keys.
Also the washing machine did not work.

I would recommend it

We (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a very comfortable stay at this property. Good location, quiet, off street parking. Unit met expectations, would recommend as a good place to stay if visiting Geelong.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and the price I paid for it was a Joke.
My rating is 1 out of 10.
Please clean your property and get new items for people to use.

Unfortunately, we would not stay here again unless the bedding was replaced. The mattress in the main bedroom was well passed it's use by date. It didn't match the base and was worn out with springs on the surface. The springs had collapsed at the end and we had to pad it up with the single donnas off the single beds. After the first night we purchased two pillows to use instead of the old yellow stained ones on the bed. Otherwise, the apartment was clean and tidy and met our needs.

Don't have much experience in the internet or renting property but found the experience straight forward and when I needed help the owner was only a phone call away, which I was greatful to.The property was very central to every thing which was a bonus whether shopping, going to the beach or strawberry picking

Everything went smoothly and we enjoyed the location and its close ammenities.

Everything about the property we stayed at was awesome

Small saucepan burnt, managed to clean some of it off with a scourer, limited cutlery, no mixing bowl, whisk, potato masher,
No clothes dryer,
Noxious onion weed growing prolifically out back, this is classed as a problem in Victoria and is supposed to be kept under control eg poison or dig up,
Had to go out and buy pot scrubber to clean small saucepan, handle on lid keeps falling off, my husband had a screw driver in car, so fixed it,
Not enough towels (1 each) stayed for two weeks, lucky to get dry with all the wet weather, had to go find a laundromat ☹️
3.0
Property is OK - handy for Belmont shops, comprehensive facilities and reasonably comfortable.
Bad points: Heating not really up to early spring Victoria and totally inadequate crockery and cutlery - just 4 very cheap place settings and very little in the way of kitchen utensils. How much would it cost to provide this? Probably a lot less than having to run the dishwasher after every meal!
Oh, and a few more waste bins other than the one and only in the kitchen would be useful!

It was like the owner had used all old and unwanted furniture to decorate. Everything was very well worn. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. Good location but we would not stay here again.

A newly decorated and very clean two bedroom unit. Very quiet and everything you could want in the kitchen and laundry. Freezing temperatures outside but dog and I were warm inside.

Geelong stay for wedding
Chose this property for its location and was ideal to be near family. Property was clean, comfy bed, great shower…..all in all very good. Would stay here again if the need arose.

I’d stay again!
Jon was very helpful and the house was cute and clean.

Comfortable central location
Excellent property, clean and well equipped apartment. Excellent service from property manager! We will definitely rebook when we come back.

Very suitable pet-friendly short stay site with nearby amenities
Would have been better if previous users are advised to pick up after their dogs' poo-ing at the backyard, before checking out

Quiet and convenient
This property was in a convenient location for us to visit family. It was well presented and met our needs in terms of a comfortable bed, and a clean and modern bathroom and kitchen. We would have liked a bit more information about the TV as we couldn’t work out how to turn the captions off.

Very comfortable, clean and quiet unit.
A little touch of home. I couldnt fault the unit. although a little bit of WD40 on the door hinges might eliminate the squecks.. That is not a complaint, I am just a light sleeper.

Very nice unit in quiet location.
Nice and warm, modern aspect. Manager of property very easy to communicate with.

Unpleasant smell in bedrooms
Stale or fishy smell found upon entry to the bedrooms.
Unit surrounded by other households in a unit block. Privacy is not great.
Kitchen and laundry fully equipped though.

Good location
As with the previous review, we were not in the property advertised and the yard was overgrown with a massive hole. Definitely not ok if you had a need to use the yard. The property inside was comfortable, clean and tidy. Very good location. The property manager was difficult to deal with when I asked for a tax invoice which was provided after many emails.

Accommodation got changed - bad experience
I booked this apartment and fully paid for it weeks in advance, for a stay on Friday to Sunday in April. Unfortunately, less than 24 hours beforehand the property manager advised that the people checking out on Friday wanted to do a late check out and hence wanted to move me to another unit. I was given 2 options. 1. accept the change to a smaller unit, or 2 get a full refund. (Note, a full refund would not have covered the full amount that I paid anyway, as stayz has a booking fee). With such short notice I chose to reluctantly accept the other property instead to save the stress of trying to find suitable accommodation again. (Note, the property manager did not even show me pictures, nor tell me that the other property was not in the same location). To his credit, he did throw in some wine and chocolates to partly address the inconvenience caused.
The unit we ended up in was much smaller than the one listed (no room for a dining table and just 2 recliner arm chairs) with less amenities (eg no dishwasher) and in a location which was further out (and no shops within walking distance). The property was adequate (smelt old inside), but the stress of changing booking (due to the property managers' booking bungle - not mine) and being put in an inferior accommodation put a dampener on the trip. (If i had to change my plans at last minute i would have had to forfeit the entire cost.)
I will definitely avoid booking via stayz and go direct via an accommodation provider in the future. I don't see how stayz can justify charging a service fee which is meant to ensure these booking stuff ups do not occur.

Good Location
Bit confused at first because the unit we were given was not the one in the pictures as advertised. Said it was dog friendly, but the backyard grass was long and uncut and there was a deep hole left uncovered. The unit was comfortable and in a good quiet location. No undercover parking was available because a caravan is stored in the carport area. Lots of cobwebs in corners of bedrooms and Daddylonglegs. We were however glad to find a place that allowed us to stay with 2 small dogs- for that reason, we made do with any inconveniences.
