the house was perfect for 6 ladies travelling for a 60th birthday. The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which was really spacious for us all. There is an outdoor terrance that gets afternoon sun which was a perfect setting for a drink in the evening.
The house is around a mile from the centre of Porto, which was perfect for us to get breakfast on our walk into Porto, Taxis are easy to get for those who don't like to walk.
We would choose this house again if there was a group of us visiting Porto. Great house for a group of friends or a family,

The house suited our group of 4 couples very well. We appreciated having our own bathrooms. We loved picking oranges and lemons in the backyard. (Middle April) Picking oranges took some climbing, however. Also, be prepared to climb stairs in the house. Artur the host was very quick to respond to any Communication I had with him.

He's always just a txt or call away. Recommend without reservation.

This is a great and very historical property. Feels worlds away when there. Lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting areas, could not ask for more. Great location, easy walk to historical area of Porto, but you might want to cab back up the hill, which is inexpensive.
Artur is a great host, immediately available for any questions and with suggestions for the visit. Would definitely come back again! Thanks Artur from the five of us Canadians.

My wife and I and another couple stayed in this very spacious property. It was clean well maintained. Although it is located a good distance from the main tourist stras it is only a short Uber ride. The owner is very easy to work with and responsive. Very good value.

A wonderful, authentic Portuguese town house with a delightful garden. It is a little way out if the city but no bad thing in the heat of the summer I would guess and easy to navigate from using public transport. Mixed ages 6 - 69, loads of immaculate bathrooms so everyone can ready reafy for the day at the same time!! Artur very helpful, always contactable. Wiuld definitely recommend this property.

This is another great property. It is a very nice house iwth a nice patio and garden to have your morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine. it is a very charming house with lots of rooms and updated bathrooms. Like most houses, there are a lot of stairs so if you have trouble walking up or down stairs just be aware of that.
Artur was great and attentive to our needs. The check in process was super easy and there are a few restaurants near by that were very good.
We woudl def stay here again.

Seriously impressed. Opened the front door to an oasis of charm, privacy, stately rooms, beautiful crown moldings, immaculate (and new) bathrooms & the list just goes on.
The home is insanely spacious. There are 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and so much personality you feel as if a close friend just invited you to make yourself at home. Stayed 2 weeks in March, invited some family from Ireland and everyone had a ball.
Artur (home owner) is wonderful. I felt as if we had a personal concierge at the end of my phone. Anything from restaurant recommendations, questions about the home and he even arranged limo transportation for 5 airport trips.
I don't give rave reviews lightly and am a serious critic when things are not right. I can't think of a single thing I would change or suggest. Artur really means it when he tells you to "make yourself at home".
Feel like I truly found a gem here, and definitely going to reserve again.

Our family group had a very enjoyable experience visiting Porto and staying at Casa Familiar do Porto. The house , while renovated and with modern bathrooms retains the charm and feel of an early 20th century family home. It is well located within walking distance of local shops and several good restaurants.
Artur, our host, was very helpful and quickly attended. where possible, to any issues that arose during our stay. Recommended.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Casa da Familiar in Porto! Our group consisted of 9 people: 2 children ages 6 & 12 and 7 adults. Artur was a wonderful host and responded quickly to any of our questions and needs. We could tell that he has put a lot of time and care into this home in restoring it and placing original furniture in all of the rooms. We loved exploring this home and it was in a great location for us to explore Porto either on foot or by car. We also heading north to Braga and Gimaraes and this was the perfect location for those day trips. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this property for bigger family groups! Hope to be able to visit Portugal in the future, and we would definitely stay at this house again!

Wonderful stay
This is a beautiful and clean house. I loved the wooden floors, the large rooms with high ceilings, and it was great to see the kids enjoy the garden after a day out. The owner Artur also made sure our stay was great and we had everything we needed (even gave us addresses of where to go with the kids :). Would come again when in Porto.

Grand home in central Porto
We were very excited to start our stay at this attractive looking house, so you can imagine our surprise when the fantastic home excelled every one of our already high expectations. This is a grand house, laid out over three floors, with three double and two twin rooms, a full bathroom, three shower rooms (two on-suite) and a ground-floor toilet. There are three different sets of comfortable sofas, a dinning table for six, a card table, and an extensive garden with patio and bar-be-que.
Especially useful for a house of this size was that the door was locked with a keypad rather than a key. It was incredibly useful for us to head out in different groups, without needing to pass around keys.
Visiting in January meant that the weather outside was very cold - as a result, the rooms ran a little cold, but as we packed sweaters and long pajamas, this wasn't a problem.
The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and a wealth of plates and cutlery. We made coffee on the stove using the percolator. Literally the only thing missing, for us, was a tea towel.
Our bed was a little firm, but comfortable to sleep in, and I heard no complaints from the rest of our family. With three couples and a family friend, we were well spaced around the house, each room was very sizable. If you have small childred, the main bedroom has two twin beds in the adjacent room, with a linking door.
One thing to consider is that while there is plenty of room for everyone, if you have ten adults in the house, you're not going to be able to all sit together - the most people we could sit comfortably in one place together was six. It wasn't an issue for us, as we were all busy enjoying Porto during the day, or enjoying one of the many lovely restaurants or cafes within 5-10 minutes walk - the local area is fanastically well served in this regard, and we received a wealth of advice on where to eat in the local area.
The landlord Artur was great. He was helpful throughout the process, gave us lots of advice on what to see by e-mail, kept out of our way completely, but was fully available via whats app.
Parking was street-side, but we managed to find spaces across the road - there were plenty more spaces a short walk away.
Overall, a fantastic place to stay, one that our family will be talking about for years to come.

Beautiful old house with character
Jose was a very good host, responding quickly to questions and when we lost water one day-it was an issue with the city. He takes pride in his house and it shows.
The house, three levels of 100-year old charm with updates, is a bit hard to review. The antique furniture is lovely and fits the house well, but takes up a lot of space in the dining room and isn’t terribly comfortable for relaxing at the house. While 10 people can sleep at the house, seating for meals and spending time together is limited.
The bathrooms are all newly renovated and absolutely beautiful! We really liked the feel of the house and well-chosen pieces in bedrooms. Some of the beds are very comfortable, others very hard.
The three levels made for good space, but the stairs are very difficult for people with knee problems, so make a wise choice for yourself. The sound also travels up the staircase, so privacy wasn’t as much as I’d hoped as each creak or the floorboards or door closing was amplified between floors.
I would also recommend that the kitchen be better equipped. We had to piece together enough plates for meals and the kitchen had two knives, one almost as old as the house itself. Improving amenities would make it wonderful.
The neighborhood is great for feeling like you’re truly living in Porto. We often walked to get groceries, dinner, coffee, and to the metro, which is easy to navigate. The street is very busy and at the home’s front door, so it can be a little noisy, but we tuned it out soon enough. There’s also a school behind the school, so it’s a little noisy, but the sounds are children laughing and playing, so it wasn’t a problem for us.
We enjoyed our time at the home and would recommend it as long as people know all the potential issues, depending on what you want from your time in Porto.

Absolute Gem!
Our family had a superb time in Porto, and we were enamored with this property! The history of the building and the careful attention to detail in the restoration of the townhome were just wonderful!
The home was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. The check-in instructions were very clear. The owner was in touch to let us know that he was available to help, but not intrusive. Perfect balance.
There are a lot of stairs, but we had a great time trying to beat each other with the amount of steps and floors we could accomplish with our FitBits.
Overall, 5 Stars. Our family of 6 kids, mother in law, brother and his daughter, had an excellent vacation.
