Muttley's Cottage
The cottage is on our 2-arce lifestyle block for you to relax and enjoy our farm scenery. We have chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. We want you to enjoy your stay and we welcome you to stay here at the cottage.
PLEASE NOTE: Cottage does not have a BBQ grill. Cottage sleeps 5 guests max. No PETS. We take great pride in our cottage. Everything laundered and cleaned after each guest.

Welcome to the Little House With Charm on the farm...(not a working farm with cows) Muttley's Cottage accommodates/ sleeps 5 guests max in beautiful Independence, 25 min. outside Salem. Located in the Willamette Valley area, this self-contained cottage is the perfect place for your next getaway. This cute little cottage has the atmosphere of being out of the city but still close to beautiful down town, local restaurants, movie theater, the Willamette River and Riverfront Park. Cottage is near to some amazing wineries and vineyards. You will need your own transportation to these places from cottage. Set in a farm setting, the cottage accommodates/ sleeps 5 guests max. Consists of 2 separate bedrooms. Main bedroom has a queen size bed, #2 has a bunk bed with a twin bed on top and underneath full-size bed. Open lounge area, kitchen, bathroom and patio. The kitchen is fully set up with everything you will need and there is also a washing machine and dryer. Cable TV, WIFI, Netflix and Amazon Prime included. Muttley's cottage is located in Independence. This cute little town has a beautiful down town, local restaurants, movie theater, the Willamette River and Riverfront Park. During the summer the downtown association sponsors music and movies in the park with seating on the grass. Seasonally, the Farmers Market is where you can find fresh produce and local products (April- Oct.).
Getting around:
Independence, Oregon is located outside of Salem north of Corvallis. We are right in the center Monmouth and Independence. The Cottage is located 10 minutes from Western Oregon University (Monmouth), and 30 minutes from Oregon State University (Corvallis).

5 Guests Max. Cottage accommodates/ 5 guests only. If you break the rules you will be notified and charged $40 per person/ per day. No Pets

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was quiet and just perfect for our weekend getaway.

For our trip needs, this stay was perfect! For our family of 4, it was definitely cozy for a week stay but we enjoyed it. The open kitchen & living room areas were great. Loved the open shelving in kitchen but everything was a bit dusty. Our girls loved the tetherball and apple trees too. We had hoped for more info on ways to explore the area but overall we are thankful we chose the cottage!

We were very impressed with the coziness and comfort of this little 2 bedroom cottage in Monmouth. It was a great place for us to stay to attend a family member's graduation from WOU. We had no issues accessing and everything was great during our stay!

Very comfortable and updated. Perfect for our family of four. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer and enjoy the use of the well-equipped kitchen. Very quiet, we especially loved the country setting even though you are in town. Directions to the cottage and it’s use were well thought out and communicated to us. Wonderful place to stay.

The house was amazing, everything we needed. Very clean and new. The area is central to a lot of other places. Deer in the yard, cat visiting.

Perfect Location For Activities In Salem
What a great community to be in. Great location. Enjoyed our stay and the simplicity of check in and departure. We did not think that we were doing enough when leaving the rental... we did what was asked of us and just a bit more. We wanted to do as much as we could on our part to match the hosts who did their part in providing us a pleasant place to stay.

So comfortable and convenient!
I needed a place to stay because I was working for a week in Polk County. This house was perfect because it combined comfort and convenience. Everything I could’ve needed was there and was easy to find. The host likes to add something special for the guest but I’m not going to tell you what it was for me because I don’t want to set the bar too high. Perfect Location In Independence
A wonderful small farm in Independence. Private and caring property owners. We were treated very well and loved the convenience to the surrounding areas we were there to look at and close to family as well. We hope to be back soon.

Perfect location and amenities!
We planned a surprise 😮 getaway for my daughter and granddaughters during spring break. Took the girls to Enchanted Forest and Chuck E Cheese for some fun around the Salem area. This place was perfect 🥰 The tether ball was a bonus 😉

Great Monmouth/Independence Accommodations
This is the perfect family lodgings for our family of 5. The open concept floor plan along with the bedrooms and bath were just what we needed. Next time we visit, hopefully they’ll have us!

College drop off
This was just what we needed to bring our oldest to college. When she wasnt at the dorm/campus, she easily got to us (with her car but its only about 1.5 miles from campus, so walkable too). Enough space we could all do our own things but small enough we were still with each other. We look forward to staying again on future visits to Monmouth.

Amazing Stay in Independence!
Look no further…This beautiful cottage is simply amazing. Pictures just do not do justice. First of all, it is so welcoming and laid out, and especially in these times, immaculate. The surroundings are perfect, love that apple tree! So much convenience and beauty combined — the kitchen and that island, well now we want one just like it. ;) Christa was so great to work with and we wished we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you for an amazing stay!

A Cute, Clean, and Convenient little Cottage!
We checked into this cozy little
cottage and we’re instantly impressed and felt at home. Immaculately clean, comfortable, and conveniently located on a spacious piece of land not too far away from downtown. We were lucky enough to meet the owner on the property, and she was super friendly and welcoming, a real pleasure to interact with. We enjoyed our stay here very much and recommend this place to anybody looking for a very respectable place to lay your head and relax.

Cute, Comfortable, Well Stocked
The cottage is located on a farmette on the edge of town and within walking distance of the grocery and a pizza shop. The house came well stocked with more items than anticipated in the kitchen and bathroom. It was a perfect landing place for our family's adventures.

Perfect place to stay!
This was the perfect cottage. I really appreciate the attention to detail that the owners thought of. Everything and more was provided for us. I did call the owners once with a question and they were readily available if there was anything we needed. I would highly recommend this place. We loved the chickens, turkey and peacock that we saw. My daughter really enjoyed the back patio area/yard and loved playing teatherball in the side yard. They had a lot of games and books which made it really feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this place!

Comfortable, cozy and family-friendly
We've had a wonderful stay at Muttley`s cottage. On the first impression, the place is clean, well-lit, well-maintained and very esthetically pleasing overall. I was delighted to find that the kitchen had absolutely everything to make healthy meals from scratch, and non-toxic handssoaps and cleaners. We found thoughtful little things like board games, fiction books, a razor and first-aid supplies in the bathroom. We stayed for a week, and it was great to have a washer and dryer and all the cleaning supplies there, including a mop and a vacuum. The beds were clean and comfortable, and our son loved the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. The cottage is walking distance to several grocery stores (Waremart and Roth`s Market), and to a park with a playground (Madrona Park, a 20-min walk). We loved watching turkeys, chickens and a peacock through the back yard window. Coming from Alaska, our son was fascinated by the apple tree in front of the house! We appreciated access to Prime and Netflix, as well as Wi-Fi. In other words, we truly felt at home. The owner was highly responsive to the several questions we had. We highly recommend this property, and look forward to staying there again in the future.

Adorable little house!
This house is complete with all the comforts a traveller would need! The 2-bedroom, 1-bath house is impeccably well-maintained, conveniently located, and has everything a traveler appreciates: coffee, condiments, a fully-equipped kitchen, Hulu/Roku TV, comfortable beds and bedding, fluffy towels and all the toiletries you would need. (Why do some properties skimp on these??) It's quiet yet close to the Independence town center and highways, and convenient to the city of Salem. The coast, the Cascades and the airport are only an hour or so away. We thoroughly enjoyed the property!
