The Neighborhood:
Munhall is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on the west bank of the Monongahela River, 8 miles south of the confluence of the Monongahela and the Allegheny rivers where the Ohio River begins. It abuts the borough of Homestead.
A large part of the Homestead Works of the Carnegie Steel Company existed in Munhall. Steel products were the only items made in Munhall in 1910 when 5,185 people lived here.
The Homestead Library, located in Munhall, was donated by Andrew Carnegie in 1896. It has been restored and modernized during the last quarter of a century - new electrical lighting has been installed, computers for the use of visitors have been installed, and the gloominess inside has vanished. Additionally, there are indoor pools, basketball courts, and other recreational facilities.
In 2000, Continental Realestate Companies opened The Waterfront. This large "LifeStyle" shopping center was built on the former site of the Carnegie Steel Works. Most of the structures associated with the steel mills on this site were demolished during construction. Still standing in the Waterfront development are some of the brick stacks from the Homestead Steel Works. In addition, near the river is a former mill structure known as the Pump House which was restored by the developer.
The Byzantine Catholic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, serving the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, is also located in the borough.
Getting Around:
Uber/Lyft is the best way to get around during your stay.
Other Things to Note:
You must climb stairs. There are stairs leading to the front door and then all bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second floor of the home.

Sent my hubby and his cousin for a belated Father's Day weekend away. They had a great time relaxing at the property and enjoying time at the Waterfront. Working with Jenna was very easy.

This house is centrally located to all the sites in Pittsburgh. Cute small charming home with all the amenities except for washer/dryer.
4.7
As advertised. Perfect centralized location for our needs. 1 issue with clogged bathroom sink taken care of. Those front stairs are no joke lol, but we knew that in advance. Thank you!

Nicely remodeled kitchen and updated bathroom. We enjoyed the quiet historical neighborhood, which was very quiet. Steep stairs from the street were not a problem for this 73 year old , but Would be a problem for the mobility challenged. The location was good for our family reunion in Murraysville, and for going to the museums, etc. downtown. The owners were very helpful.

The home is roomie and cozy. Older needs some updating but clean. Lots of character. The area is older. Close and convenient to downtown. I would recommend for inexpensive lodging.

We rented the property because we were in town for a show at Carnegie Library Music Hall of Homestead. The property was conveniently located not only for the music hall, but also the other Pittsburgh attractions we visited during our stay.
4.7
Drove in from TN for a family reunion and this rental worked great for our family of 4. While we didn't spend much time at the property it had everything we needed to cook a quick breakfast, make coffee and come back for the evening to settle in. The check in process was extremely easy and the first night we had a question for the host and she responded very timely.
All in all it was a good stay.

The property was as advertised. A number of steps up and parking on the street but we knew all of that going into our stay.
Our host was very responsive and gave us advice on transit options. Getting into Pittsburgh does require an Uber and that can get pricey when at an event but that was our choice and again we knew what to expect.
3 well-adorned bedrooms upstairs and well-equipped amenities made for an enjoyable stay.
Pittsburgh is a great city to visit.

We came to Pittsburgh with our two little train fans to see Thomas Town. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the great activities for kids in the city. The Zoo/Aquarium, children’s museum, science centre, schenley pool, and kennywood were all winners!
The house was perfect for us. Everything was well stocked, beds were comfy, amenities were close by. The privacy of the bedrooms and the full kitchen make it superior to a hotel stay.
4.7
This was a great property. Easy to find, cute 3BR house, excellent AC, well laid out, easy parking and good location. Used as a home base for many events in the city and perfectly located. Also close to the waterfront for a quick dinner. Excellent communication w/ owner as well for checkin, etc.

Short visit with local family
This property was great for us. The hosts provided everything we needed including body wash soap and shampoo. We also had everything we needed to make coffee. The three bedrooms and the couch fit our family of 6. We also enjoyed the proximity to the Waterfront shopping district. Ice cream was walking distance which was the icing on the cake. Thank you making sure we had everything we needed. You all were awesome hosts!

We stayed Friday and Saturday nights.
The house is on a hillside, so there's about 20 steps getting onto the porch. It's an older home as described, in a quiet neighborhood. A bit of turns getting to it off I 376. Our bed was comfortable. We had 7 people. 3 couples and 1 teen. The 2 queen beds and single worked, and a couple took a blow up air mattress for downstairs. The TV is internet, so couldn't find cable channels We were used to, but we were really just there to sleep. Good clean place. Not for elderly with the steps.

The home was exactly as described! Like many homes in the area there are lots of stairs leading up to the house and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Something to consider if anyone in your groups struggles with steps. The beds also weren’t the most comfortable but no bed other than you own ever sleeps perfectly. Communication with the host was great, check in and out was easy, and the location was perfect for a hockey game!

Perfect time of year to visit Pittsburgh!
Needed a few more items in kitchen— like serving bowls, mixing bowls... If our 7 th guest would of been along there wouldn’t have been a chair for him at any counter. Beds were comfortable—thanks

This property was a nicely remodeled older home in a historic neighborhood of Munhall/Homestead area. The kitchen and bathroom was nicely remodeled. The windows have been replaced and there were plenty of electrical outlets. Quiet neighborhood too. Please note there are many stairs to get up to the house and another set to get to the bedrooms and bathroom. We would stay here again if we are back in the area.

Lovely home, but not quite as advertised
The space was beautiful and located near everything we needed, but there were several challenges that would give me pause before booking again. This house does not sleep 8 people. There are two queen/double beds and a twin. The couch does not pull out into a sleeper, but rather reclines. There is another recliner in the living room - but all three of these spaces are very difficult to sleep on. Thankfully we didn't have 8 people in our party, but as a group of 5 it was still a bit challenging (since not all of us were hoping to share beds). Parking is not at all plentiful as described as the street is tight and there were many cars parked there when we arrived. When we had an issue we tried to contact the homeowner but her voicemail was not accepting messages. Thankfully we were able to resolve our issue independently but that made us nervous should we need anything later in our stay. However, the home was clean and cute and worked well enough for our purpose - but these experiences along with the high price tag would likely stop me from staying here again.

Comfortable and Cozy
We had a great time staying in this old Pittsburgh home. We were very comfortable and it was a great place to have as a home base. The owners were very accommodating and great to rent from.
My only issue was the stairs up to the house which is a common characteristic of the Pittsburgh homes. As long as you don't mind them, this is a very comfortable home away from home.

Convenient and comfortable
Stopped in Pittsburgh on our way home to visit Kennywood and new Thomas Town. Easy access to waterfront and Kennywood. Quiet street. Able to get into Pittsburgh without much issue as well. House had everything we needed and owners very responsive.
