Mediterranean villa is a semi-detached house located on the bay of 'Cala Mazzo di Sciacca' a beautiful colored pebble beach between the Zingaro natural reserve and the rocks of Tonnara di Scopello.
IThere are wide paths and parking lots and a lawn area near the sea where children can play. The sea is within walking distance (also parking). The beach is available free of charge; small boats can be rented for cruises along the Zingaro coast. A short distance from Segesta, Selinunte, Motia, Erice, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, San Vito lo Capo, Gibellina.
Scopello is an ancient fishing village located on the northwest coast of Sicily.
It grew up around a 17th-century rural farm that is still visible on the town's central square.
Today it is a small village consisting of a few houses and has a small paved square called Baglio.
Scopello has a charming and engaging atmosphere, and its inhabitants are friendly and hospitable.
It is at the gates of the Zingaro Nature Reserve, a true paradise for sea lovers with magnificent coves, deep indentations, caverns, tunnels and the Tonnara.
In addition, Scopello is close to other beautiful archaeological nature and itineraries such as Erice, Trapani, Segesta, Mozia, Egadi Islands, Trapani ect; Palermo is only 70 kilometers away.
Scopello is so beautiful that in 2004, an international film production chose it as the setting for the movie "Twelve Ocean."

Giuseppina's villa is in a truly beautiful part of Sicily, ideally located near the Zingaro reserve, with multiple wonderful coves to visit and swim in, and a 15 minute walk from Scopello with its cafes, restaurants and local market.
Giuseppina was a lovely and gracious host who helped us sort out some confusion with our booking and greeted us at the property despite our arrival late at night. She showed us around the property and gave us some tips about the best places to visit.
The villa was clean, the wifi was reasonably fast and the small plunge pool saw daily use even in October.
There were really very few negative points to the villa: the internal doors / door handles are very noisy when used at night; it's a shame that guests can't control the lights around the pool at night; the kitchen equipment is getting rather old and tired.
Overall we absolutely loved our stay at this villa and would like to thank Giuseppina for her warm welcome and hospitality.

Lovely villa
Lovely villa and great positio and location with beautiful views. we could walk to Scopello for dinners
The Homeaway website made an odd email to the vendor saying my payment might be dodgy and then this complicated an Otherwise easy stay.with an odd feeling for everyone. we were asked to pay for electricity for air con If we used it , a little dismayed at this as no mention in the listing and at this level we would hope electricity is included. Air con was only in the lounge anyway which left the rest of the villa very hot without built in fans. Main bed was very rickety and uncomfortable and being tall had a bed end and too short so made for an uncomfortable sweaty stay.

When can we go back?!
We were thrilled with our stay in Scopello, our first time on Sicily, and would gladly return. The house was very comfortable and perfectly placed if you want proximity to beaches, village restaurants and pasticceria and sights without masses of tourists. We were though grateful to have a hire car. The house is secluded and quiet, surrounded on one side by a long olive grove; the fruit trees in the back were also a lovely Mediterranean touch! The size of the property is generous for a holiday let (we we just used the bedrooms, but there was plenty of space for the sofa bed to be pulled out too) with a sun trap back garden and a shaded veranda at the front.
Giuseppina was so warm hearted and a great landlady who answered any questions we had and organised a very easy meeting point to then show us to the house.

A beautiful location
Stunning location on quiet road within walking distance of Scopello and the Zingaro Nature Reserve. The villa is in a quiet location with views right around the Golfo di Castellammare to the airport across the bay.
The owner is extremely helpful and even managed to locate us when we missed the Scopello turning on our arrival late at night. We were guided to the villa and had a full explanation of how the equipment worked before being left to recover, secure in the knowledge that she was only a phone call way if we should have any problems.
The accommodation is spacious and well equipped with a lovely shaded patio and all the usual facilities you would expect. This villa is suitable for couples and families (with two or three children if they can share a room). Just a short walk down the road, half way to the village, is a pizzeria with a large terrace where we enjoyed a couple of excellent evenings.
Scopello is a small village in a beautiful location with a bakery (well hidden down a side street), a butcher, a small general store, gelaterie, a couple of gift shops, a post office and a selection of pizzerias and restaurants as well as a market at the weekend. If you can’t find what you need here, there is a larger supermarket, a fruit and vegetable shop and another gelaterie just outside the town on the way to Castellammare.
There are several local attractions: a variety of beaches, the nature reserve with its hidden coves, the Tonnara d Scopello (associated with Gavin Maxwell, Ocean’s Twelve and Inspector Montalbano), a tower above the town and a stunning backdrop of sharply rising mountains.
The region is famous for its wine and there are several wineries that you can visit. We sampled the wine from the Fazio producer, just the other side of the mountain from the villa, on the recommendation of the owner’s husband.
A car is essential if you want to get around Trapani province. The villa is an ideal location from which to explore this western end of Sicily with the all main routes only a 10 minute drive away. We were able to visit San Vito Lo Capo and its Cous Cous festival, Erice, Selunte, the salt pans in the west, Mozia island, Selinute and spend time exploring the area more generally. Be warned – all archaeological sites need plenty of time to view properly! Allow at least half a day for each.
This is a wonderful region to visit with plenty of attractions to please all ages.

Would happily return
We loved it here.Beautiful quiet location, spacious airy property, clean and well equipped. There was air conditioning in the main room but we didn't need to use it, despite the very hot weather. The owner was very pleasant, trusting and well organised. We were met as planned and everything was as expected.
A car is essential to get there (it was an easy drive from Trapani airport) and to explore the area, but we enjoyed walking to the local village in the mornings for breakfast at a bar and for basic supplies from the little grocery; also plenty of places to eat there. A good size supermarket with a butcher, and a greengrocers is just a few minutes drive back down the road to Castellamare..
The path down to the nearest beach (pebbly but very pretty and clean) is conveniently opposite the property.
The best thing was the shaded verandah where you could eat, or just sit out and enjoy the view overlooking the sea.
It was tricky at first negotiating the narrow gateway and steep curving driveway; you would not want a large car!
Wish we had stayed longer.

A perfectly situated holiday home
A perfectly situated villa for walks in the nearby nature reserve, swimming in the sea and visting interesting sites that are not too far away such as the medival hill town Erice and Segesta's temple and greek theatre. A pizzaria is in walking distance which is particularly useful if you arrive at night time and a small supermarket with a superb greengrocer behind the shop are only a few minutes down the road by car. We also had a delicious meal in one of the fish restaurants in Castellammare harbour. The villa was clean and spacious, perfect for a family of four and reasonably well equipped if you don't mind eating everything from large dinner plates and cooking with well used sauce - and frying pans. The owner speaks perfect English, was very friendly and especially helpful when we needed a doctor.

Great for
We stayed at the property in September 2011 and it was perfect! 2 bedrooms - perfect also for families with 2 kids! Even has a sofabed so equipped for 6 people!
Everything was super clean, also the distance from the local beach (pebbled) was ideal! After swimming we used the outdoor shower! The front garden was ideal with the hammock and we were using the BBQ in the back every night.
The kitchen is fully equipped - just what you want... The local nature reserve is also very close great for walks in autumn and spring!
I would go back there any time!

Atractive villa close to quiet beach
We stayed in this lovely villa with its elevated position above a quiet beach about a kilometer outside of the old village of Scopello. The villa is very clean with all the usual requirements for a comfortable holiday stay and is owned by a very helpful and frendly hostess. It has a nicely shaded veranda area at the front where you can sit in the cool during the heat of the afternoon. The garden is full of mature trees and shrubs.
The villa is only a few hundred metres from the entrance to the Zingaro nature reserve, a beautiful area of rocky coastline and panoramic mountain views. You cannot come to this area without spending a day walking in this wonderful, car free nature reserve
The village of Scopello, well worth visiting is a small community with a few popular restaurants and bars set around an attractive old village square. This was our first trip to Sicily but we will certainly return, nice people, good food , great scenery and a lovely warm sea.

"The accomodation was great. Plenty of room, clean, comfortable, and a choice of two patios or the garden to sit and relax in, or enjoy a meal cooked on the barbecue! The view to the front of the villa is the sea, with a short road to the nearest bay just across from the entrance to the villa, and out the back you look up the hill across the olive groves to a rocky backdrop where the sun goes down. Its only a short walk into Scopello, which is a lovely little village with plenty of restaurants. And the Zingaro nature reserve is two minutes drive up the road where you've got access to numerous unspoilt beaches & coves along the coast path. Finally, the owner was really friendly, welcoming, helpful and couldn't have more for us, from meeting us late evening when we arrived through to checking we had everything we needed in the week."

"We would thoroughly recommend this. The house is split into two halves, each of which is rented out. both are simply but tastefully decorated and equipped. the surroundings are very peaceful and the terrace has a terrific view of the bay and the sea. It is very tranquil and a lovely place for a family holiday or for anyone seeking peace and quiet. The village of Scopello is tiny but picturesque. the owner was delightful: very welcoming and gracious, without ever being intrusive, and happily arranging to meet us at 1am after our very late flight, without the slightest hint of it being an inconvenience. She even left a cake in the fridge for our two small children during our second week."
