Small, poky room. Kitchen shelf collapsed onto me.

The location and garden bar were great!

Great rooms, compact but well appointed. Beds were super comfortable.

Biertje en de maaltijd
Smerig onderkomen met vele defecten aan het huisjes, zoals ontbreken van water in de douche, geen elektriciteit in de douche, viezigheid onder het bed
Bij aankomst was de verkeerde kamer gereserveerd; niet zoals we hadden aangegeven via BOOKING.com, met betrekking tot twee separate bedden;
De bereidheid van de manager om het probleem in overleg op te lossen, was slecht en snauwerig. Niet aan te bevelen!!!!!!

Location was great. The tavern was homely and the food was great !!
Misleading advertising on book.com. Room description notes air-conditioning howerver there was no cooling only heating.
Bed bugs on the bed - my kids had to vacate the room at 2am in the morning because bed bugs all over the bed ( room 5) We booked two rooms for 4 of us but unfortunately had to sleep in one. ( room 4). At 5am we found bed bugs in room 4 as well. Not a good night at all. At some point we were going to sleep in the car.

loved location. congratulations on the wonderful job you did on garden bar. we enjoyed evening meal and coffee in the bar in the morning. However we would rate our room as the most unappealling we have stayed in. On our invoice it said our room would have double bed plus single. we did not need another bed but it is always handy to put clothes on and made us feel the room was spacious enough. the photo in the advertisment was nothing like our room was. we had a horrible old fridge sticking out into the room as didnt fit in the space. The kitchinette didnt have a sink as show in the advert. The decor was very drab. The bathroom had no natural light was unappealling. sittiing on the loo i could see some sort of brown sludge sepping out from the back of the hand basin. The whole unit smelt horrible like someone who smoked had been there. We had to ask for rubbish and food scraps to be removed from the entrance. The room looked out on the rubbish bins not the mountains as in the advert. We booked in august and thought we wouldnt be getting left with the least appealing one. we stayed in 8 accomodation places in our holiday some at similar price. Haast Beach Motel cost less and was absolutely delightful. We loved your position but wouldnt want to risk coming back or recomend it to our friends which is a shame. We could wait to get out of our room sadly.
everthing bout the unit ...horrid.

Perfect little place to crash out and enjoy the Punakaiki village, well located and it was nice to have the restaurant also near by. Also there’s a cellphone tower right there on the street… so we had a perfect connection and super fast internet (didn’t need the Wi-Fi).
I was a little surprised that there was only a hot water jug and some mugs in the room, I’d have hoped for maybe a bowl and spoon for my breakfast, but otherwise it was great.

I supplied my own breakfast but my companion bought breakfast at the hotel It was an ample cooked breakfast and seemed good value. The rebate on meals and drinks for guests was welcome and a useful subsidy on the accommodation.
There were minimal selfcatering facilities. I had brought my own muesli and would have expected plates, cutlery and a microwave as the minimum for a Motel accommodation. The room was very small (as advertised) but no scope for drying any gear and since we were there for long day walks and the weather was wet (as expected on the Coast) some way of drying outer clothing, socks, and footwear would be very useful.

No BF taken. Location is good, nice to be able to walk to the beach, 1 minute! Close to the village and activities. Pancake rocks and blow-holes are spectacular. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice pub food, great that you don't need to get in the car to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The room is small but all good for a night or two, clean.
The heating needs updating, it's a wall fan heater which is a little old and noisy - heat-pump?
The shower also needs attention, poor pressure/water-flow.

The room was very cosy, the staff really friendly and welcoming. The location was great for or need. The food in the restuarant was delicious , no complaints, only recommendation.

Great location
Room very tight for 2 people. Confusion about whether we could get a meal even though were house guests and had nowhere else to dine.

Comfortable room, good location
Poor Wi-Fi

The location is amazing, close to the walking trails and beach
I know it is motels, part of the pub, which has great meals! but we needed to pack our own made lunches & breakfast etc and having some plates and some cutlery in the room would have been great especially given the location and people doing all sorts of outdoor activities, not always possible to be buying food from an outlet.
3.6
Rooms were basic but very clean and had everything we needed for a one night comfortable stop. The bar/restaurant on site was great - fab food and very friendly and efficient staff.
Better/softer lighting would be a good addition to these chalets
3.6
Room was nice and clean. Had all what we needed. We loved the food in the garden restaurant. Definitely we would stay again

Meals at the attached pub were good
Not really onto it in terms of customer service particularly at check in. Not given wifi code and password and it was not in the room folder. When I enquired I was given incorrect information re whereabouts. There was no info in the room. The manager gave me the info when he came to replace the jug that wasn’t working. The light in the kitchenette wasn’t working either. The internet dropped constantly and the TV had very poor reception - snowy picture. Also not asked about wanting a meal at check in. No cooking facilities in the unit and lack of eating places in the area. Not informed there was a booking system for tables. If had been we would have reserved a table for a specific time. The place is under new management but there is room for improvement.

The hotel room and bed were comfortable. Quiet location.
There needs to glass curtains in the front window as it overlooks the car park of the tavern so the rooms don't feel very private. Also need a blackout curtain on the kitchen window.
The place was not very clean, quite a bit of hair on bathroom floor.

nice staff, good location
Rooms need deeper cleaning, overall cleanliness was good. Our room didn’t have wifi even though promised while booking. Restaurant in front had wifi. Very small TV and only three channels to choose from
Place needs to be updated

location and the availability of bar and food staff were excellent

Very helpful and friendly staff. Stunning coastal location.
I needed to ask local people for the directions of this hotel when I got off my InterCity coach even though I had the address. The assumption was that I was driving eg. approx time to walk to this hotel would have been useful, access to a pavement, up hill/down hill - thankfully it was downhill.

Location
The shower was pathetic and kept going cold with no pressure. Would have been more enjoyable jumping in the river. The room was cluttered by having a single bed jammed in what should only be a double room. We reserved a table at the pub on the Wednesday night for Saturday nigh for 2 people and we’re then told on Saturday night that they didn’t reserve tables for less than 6 people and that we couldn’t have booked it even though there were reserved tables for 4 on the Wednesday night. Maybe removing the stupid two person seats in the garden and replacing them with tables people can eat at would help. As for the food average is the word I would use. Overall disappointing and poor value for money
3.6
Restaurant close to motel
No desk or table in room, no cutlery, plates or anything to prepare your OWN breakfast. Tourist trap so you have to buy one in not included price of the stay the day after in restaurant??
