Not COOL at the Northwood inn!

My air conditioner spit out hot air on the top floor room, facing the sun, on a day when it was 29°c. I phoned the front desk after about an hour since nothing had changed with the AC and said it was not working to the desk agent. He then asked me back " really the air conditioner isn't working ?" I then asked for a fan or two for my room. " Sorry sir we have no fans " I said " really, you have NO FANS...AT A HOTEL ....IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER ?..... AND MY A/C Isn't working properly??? I then asked to swap rooms and no again. Sorry no So I had the WORST NIGHT EVER AS IT DIDN'T COOL OFF TIL MIDNIGHT ISH and when I checked out in the am the same woman who checked me in was working and asked how my stay was. I told her flat out TERRIBLE !!!! Told her why. And she asked if I said anything about the AC. I said I called and even asked for fans etc etc etc I'm NEVER STAYING THERE AGAIN. IM NEVER LETTING ANYONE I KNOW STAY THERE. HELL IM HOPING NO ONE STAYS THERE AGAIN AND READS THIS POSTING. NOT EVEN A DISCOUNT ON THE ROOM, NO SORRY. NOTTA. WELL SCREW YOU NORTHWOOD INN.

Fairly Nice Stay

The beds were comfortable, and the heater worked well (although the room was very cold when we entered). The Wi-Fi was strong. The room was spacious with plenty of space to spread out. Really great to have so many services close by, including the pub inside the same building as the hotel!

The proximity to Prince George isn't great, but there are plenty of nearby services available. There's no closet in the room where you can hang your things. There is a fair amount of road noise, so bring your earplugs! No elevator and the hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

Pleasant

The room was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was very quiet despite the pub being close by.

Access is difficult across a waste-ground of a car park. We did not have the room we booked and despite the room being for 2 people, there was only 1 chair. I asked for a 2nd chair but none were available! There was no breakfast on site and no staff at check-out.

Great Value

The rooms have been nicely updated. They are fresh, clean and very comfortable. Outside appearance is misleading. This is my third stay and will continue to use this hotel. There is a pub down below but closes at midnight. I have never been bothered by the music. There is no elevator here so would be a problem with those with mobility problems as the rooms are upstairs and no one is available to help with the luggage.

Sometimes a bit of a wait as receptionist handles both the desk the attached liquor store. But all does work out

Horrible

They double charged my credit card for the room. I called them back and the staff said I have to call back in 6 hours because they don't know how to refund. They charged me for the room when I checked in and charged me again when I checked out. This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. They double charged me the 1st time and I never got back my money. They are incompetent.

Great hotel with comfortable room. Convenient location next to the highway. Staff were friendly.

Room smelled like parfume (probably from cleaning). It was very strong so we had to open the window as I get headaches from strong parfume smells.

Very good value

Extremely clean, spacious (the suite has a small living room besides the room), comfortable beds and pillows. Highly recommended. The area seemed safer than downtown. Loved that the packaging of the soap and shampoo is biodegradable.

Being so close to the highway, you can hear cars at night but overall it wasn’t that loud.

Did not realize there was no elevator, just steep stairs going to the rooms, we are both seniors with mobility issues, so very hard getting to and from the room.

The picture of the front foyer conference setting was totally misleading! They put a couple of chairs, a TV and a fake fireplace in the middle of the hall. The shower plumbing and drain did not work well

This is a motel on the road that serves the need if you're passing by

The place was good for the price, we're just passing by on our way to Prince Rupert so the location was excellent

The building had like 4 different businesses, including a liquor store next door so it was a bit confusing, my only real issue was that there was no elevator so we had to carry our heavy bags up and down the stairs

I liked the location right off the highway. Was impressed with room quality for the price and the comfortable beds.
