This quirky stay is very fun with all the art work that the owner explains was done by his relative. The mattress is on the floor but very comfortable. The room was very spacious. Close to airport. Easy to find.
The wifi essentially didn't work in the room. The bathroom was in the main part of the house (the gallery is separate), that wasn't a big problem for 1 night but could be annoying if staying multiple nights.

A very nice place to stay overnight near the airport. It's great to relax among beautiful paintings. This is the third time we have stayed there and we hope to come again.
You must be ready that the toilet and shower are in a neighboring building, and you have to walk four meters outside. The doors are very close. But this is compensated by the price and Ragnar's hospitality, and is not perceived as an inconvenience.

There's a nice running path near by, it's a nice quiet neighborhood and Ragnar and his daughter were very helpful.

Friendly hosts! We ended up not staying at the gallery, but at a nearby apartment which had absolutely everything that we needed and still very close to the airport and our car rental return. If you need a place in this part of the country, I'd absolutely recommend.

Beautiful pictures, underappreciated artist (the host's uncle). Host talkative, friendly, well-meaning and spontaneous. Late check-in possible. Close to airport, rather affordable compared to general price level.
Be prepared for a possible relocation to a close-by but different address (not exactly a gallery but a very nice place with lots of pictures by the artist). Reasons rather obscure, though everything turned out well.

A big room with personal touch, homely atmosphere. Very friendly and cheerful host picked us up from the airport in the middle of the night (if you can call the Icelandic night a night). Quiet area.
Nothing to complain about.

A very quirky place! You sleep among many paintings :-) The owner told us the wonderful story of how he came to collect the paintings of his uncle to made him better known and appreciated.
Nicer if there had been a bathroom in the same building. But the bathroom in the main house is accessible.

This was a very unique experience! The room is a converted garage that stores some amazing paintings of a local artist, and the uncle of the host. The room is comfortable and quite warm and the beds were extremely comfortable. Despite only about three hours of “night” time in the summer, we slept really very well. The room is large and comes pretty well equipped with a sink, a fridge, a kettle, a hairdryer, a faucet for drinking water and a microwave. The fridge was handy. In addition, the host had provided coffee and milk and some other amenities that were very useful. Thoughtful! The location of Brimarsbru is extremely convenient for the airport, the Blue Lagoon and other Reykjanes sights. We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the bed linens smelled great!
Nothing not to like! It was very cool to sleep in an art gallery! And the host was warm and friendly and also shared some very interesting stories. I wish we had stayed longer. Just a couple of things to note … the bathroom is inside the main house, a couple of step away to the door. This might be a concern for some who wake often to use the restroom. It might also be useful to provide some scissors (to open a carton for instance) and a couple of plates (in addition to the other silverware and dishes that are already very thoughtfully provided)!

The Art and the uncle. Very friendly host.

Ragnar is the most incredibly kind host - my flight was delayed by 5 hours and I only arrived at 1am in the morning. Ragnar went out of his way to pick me up at the airport and then drove me to the Blue Lagoon the next morning so I could sleep in. Wow! What amazing service and exceptional kindness!! The apartment was huge - exceptionally clean and wonderfully comfortable. Very close to the airport and not far from the Blue Lagoon. Wish I could have stayed much longer! Ragnar is a lot of fun with many interesting stories and a great sense of humour! I will definitely be back again next year and highly recommend staying with Ragnar and enjoying true Icelandic hospitality!
Nothing! I loved everything :)

Joyce was great, she accommodated our late, then further delayed arrival due to travel delays. The apartment was clean and quiet.

A beautiful unique place to stay near Keflavik airport. Ragnar is very kind and welcoming, he drove to the airport and picked us up which was very kind of him!

Very close to the airport, good price and unique place to sleep in. There is a fish and chips place just 5min by car worth the stop. Nice host.
The toilet is inside the house, next to the art gallery you sleep in.

Ragnar I would like to recommend Your place to everyone that is enjoying the colourful painting fun and surely would be glad to hear Your stories first hand, You are such a entertaining host and evereyone will get the most out of Your beautiful place that all the joy will end up in the space, where the ghosts and souls live, watching us from above and sending the dove as a sign for us to never resign from Our dreams, I am sure You know what that means...😉👍🙂🕊🎨🌠🍀

Extremely convenient for an early flight out of Keflavik Airport. Bathroom is in the main house (while the main stay is in the mentioned art gallery (which has plenty of nice art!)) so it has kind of an AirBnB feel in a private house which was no problem at all. The gallery itself has a very comfortable mattress, sink, kettle and fridge, so it's easily possible to make a coffee or tea. The drive to Keflavik airport only takes 15 minutes and the price is unbeatable compared to hotels in the area.

Nice place and nice owner.
Lots of cats hair in the linen - not good for people alergic to it.

all the paintings!
The toilet inside the house.
It was oké for Ragnar to use it but for me it felt strange. Especially at 5 o’clock in the morning before we left the sleep-inn and they were stil a sleep.

Cheap for Iceland, very close to the airport if you have an early flight. Kettle, fridge and microwave available in the room. Big space. Very cool art.
Bathroom and advertised kitchen in the main house. Felt a bad walking into someone else’s house.

Very warm and friendly welcome. We really enjoyed the introduction to the art and hearing some stories. Huge room and very comfortable. It is delightfully quirky and so close to the airport.
Nothing. Please note that the bathroom is in the main house, which is no problem at all but good to be aware of.

extremely welcoming, the hot shower was just amazing (we didn’t try the hot tub but we’ll be back for sure)

Such a unique and cozy stay! I loved all the artwork and Ragnar's stories really added so much depth to the experience. The gallery was clean, warm, and comfy, and the outdoor shower was very fun! Ragnar is also a wonderful host and was so welcoming and helpful.
I was having a little trouble connecting to the wifi. But I didn't need it much so it wasn't a pressing issue.

Very unusual stay in an art gallery showcasing a single artist who is quite talented and had a few standout works. Fridge and sink in the space and plenty of seating. Bed was comfortable. 10 minutes to airport and 20 from blue lagoon made this the perfect stop on our last night.
Restroom was in owner's home next door which was a little weird but Ragnar and his daughter were both kind and friendly so it was fine.
