Clean, convenient, and comfortable!
Our family had a wonderful time in the Bear’s Den. Extremely clean, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and living space, and food and hiking were super close. Deb was very easy to get ahold of. We will definitely be coming back!!

Very comfortable
Even though Covid stay in shelter had started and all the resorts were closed I made the best of it! I got lucky and it was dumping! Found fun getting out and playing in the snow.

Great place to visit!
Great cozy feeling. New appliances and everything you’d ask for in a small cabin.

Winter getaway
I stayed at Deb's Bear Den during Christmas week break and it was a fantastic location. It's located close to the Stagecoach Lodge and Boulder Lodge locations for Heavenly, so if you like to snowboard on those sides, the location cannot be beat.
The kitchen is well stocked, and we were happy to find water for us and some basic cooking ingredients like oil, salt, pepper etc. We also liked that there were some games and items like snowshoes for ready use on the property. Lastly, we thoroughly enjoyed the cozy feel of the fireplace and the bed was pleasantly spacious.
Unfortunately during our stay the tub was clogged so water pooled at our feet, but Deb was very responsive when we reported the issue and tried to get someone out there the next day on Christmas Eve. We have a dog and were boarding all this break so we couldn't connect to get that issue fixed but we thoroughly appreciated the quick response and action taken.
We'd definitely stay here again for another vacation!

Cozy cabin, conveniently located
A very comfortable little place with just about any piece of equipment you could need accounted for. The location is far away from the madness of downtown SLT/Stateline, but not too far away to get to anything. Wifi works well, and the owner is communicative and helpful.

Great Place
My family (2 adults 2 kids) spent a week here. Place was great! Plenty of room to spread out, very clean and comfortable, conveniently located to Lake Tahoe, and check-in and out was very easy! Also great and speedy communication with owner. Would stay here again - Thanks!

A Great Getaway
This trip was a celebration for my wife and I and our 2 year anniversary. The property manager was always quick to respond if we had any questions and was very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful and the property was well maintained. We definitely enjoyed our stay and look forward to doing it again someday.

Well-equipped home in a great location
This home was a great place to get away too. Very close to Heavenly ski area and town. She did allow our pets to come also which made our trip extra special. If you come with your pets be very respectful and responsible with them. She does keep her place very clean and it is nice to have places like this to travel to that allow you to bring your pets. Hope I can come back again.

Worst place ever...
I had withheld comment on our stay, as I was overcharged and expected a refund... Instead I was deceived by their promises of fair and honest treatment. If you rent here, document everything said and promised! The condition of the property was equally misleading and below expectation. It had snowed the previous week, and no one had cleared snow on the access path to the door. The melted and re-frozen ice was no match for the flimsy plastic snow shovel. Daily shoveling of fresh snow is normal in snow country. Having to dig through weeks of shoveling neglect is NOT a guest responsibility! They suggest "heat with wood stove", yet the stove was in dis-repair, dangerous with no fireproof hearth in front of door, a failing door gasket, and no covered/dry wood supply. The furnace worked, but most heat is directed under cabinets... you could bake bread under the bathroom sink. Uncomfortable furnishings and inadequate closet & clothing, space ....especially for winter and skiing use. Close to skiing, but a room at The Ridge Tahoe would have been even closer, much nicer, cheaper, and with lots of amenities.

Great place with great owners
The Bears Den is a great place to stay! The owners are nice and have made sure your stay is pleasant. the property was very clean and not run down at all. a couple things to note, the property is at around 7 to 8k feet so if you have any health issues, that might be a concern. starting a fire in the wood stove can be a challenge as kindling is a must with the wood outdoors and not covered. I would recommend this place to others and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.

Honeymooning in style!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we loved it. The owners are very nice, and they have a lovely home. The kitchen is basically fully stocked with cooking supplies; cups, plates, utensils, pits, pans, slow cooker just to name a few. If you have an issue the owners are quick to respond and want to make your stay as nice as possible. I highly suggest staying here, I think my husband and I will definitely be staying here again!
