THE LOCAL AREA:
Situated between Southbourne's famous sandy beaches and within a 5 minute walk of the pretty River Stour with its delightful riverside walks, boating activities and tea gardens, Lavender Lodge is a real find for those looking for an individual, less commercialised holiday experience. Ideal for cyclists, visitors can explore the nearby area, which includes historic Christchurch (only a mile away), the New Forest National Park and coast using only pedal power. It is easy, level walking distance to the local shops at Tuckton including one of the best butchers and fish and chips shops in the area, Tesco's, pharmacy and bakery, pubs, choice of restaurants and take-aways. From just outside the property bus services take you directly into Boscombe, central Bournemouth, and through into Poole. Nearby are the Blue Flag Beaches of Southbourne, cliff top walks and lively, slightly unconventional shopping parade, known as Southbourne Grove. If you like individual shops, you will love it here. Children's play areas, tennis and bowls are found at nearby Seafield Gardens, whilst in the other direction, Iford Playing Fields are the home of the Bournemouth BMX Club, more wide open spaces and riverside walks. Southbourne and Tuckton with their own character and attributes are also popular for being only a step away from the nightlife, shops and entertainment of mainstream Bournemouth.

THE DESTINATION:
Holidays are special! They form many of the best life memories and provide a rare opportunity for FREEDOM. Freedom to relax, play, breath and choose, what you want to do and when you want to do it. At Bournecoast we give you freedom of choice by offering an impressive selection of Self Catering accommodation in one of the most beautiful destinations in the United Kingdom. Dorset is a very popular holiday destination all year round. It offers beautiful rolling countryside, dramatic scenery, charming market towns, character villages and miles of some of the finest sandy beaches in the UK. Bournemouth lies to the east of the county and offers seven miles of blue flag beaches. It is near the market town of Christchurch with its 11th century Priory Church, ruined castle and Saxon mill, and the stunning medieval New Forest. The area caters for diverse interests, the popular buzzing beach resort in Bournemouth with its vibrant nightlife; the gentler pursuits of walking, wildlife and bird-watching in the nature reserves and national parks, and along the 20 miles of Bournemouth Coast footpath; and active pursuits such as cycling, sailing, rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sea kayaking. Popular also for touring, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance. Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.

This is a very well presented property. It is well equipped and equipment is good quality. Pleasant outside area. The property is in a great location. Close to local shops and cafes. Southbourne beach is within walking distance. Easy walk to the river and Christchurch. The downside for us was that there isn’t really sufficient comfortable seating for 4 adults in the living area. We also found that the blinds in the bedrooms aren’t sufficient and secondary curtains or black out blinds would be advantageous. The neighbours security light also shines into the double bedroom and on one night constantly was going on and off.
